I love this place so much!!! The food and customer service are so wonderful! Johnny D is always there greeting customers! When I go here, I feel like I’ve stepped back in time where everyone stops to talk to each other and aren’t on their smart phones all the time! The Irish skillet and waffles are the highlight and for good reason. I go here Everytime I’m in myrtle beach.

Good food, good service. Good place for families, and we happened to have a large group next to us with a very loud and unhappy child. Not the fault of the restaurant in any way — just the breaks. We had the Irish and California Benedicts with grits. Both very good and reasonably priced.

Breakfast and service is amazing. We come to Johnny D’s every time we come to the beach. They have the absolute best mimosas. I never knew this place existed until my Aunt and Uncle told me one of their friends owned it. We gave it a shot and have been hooked ever since.

Great breakfast place. The chicken with the chicken and waffles is cooked perfect. The French bread waffle has a wonderful custard flavor. The prices are a bit on the higher side for breakfast, but the food was really good.

Visited on a Saturday morning about 10a with a hungover bachelorette party of 11. We were sat almost immediately and swiftly offered mimosas, coffee, and water. The menu is extensive but with reasonably priced plates — perfect for our large group. I tried the Irish skillet(dynamite!) but there was still some serious plate envy — french toast, pancakes, baconbaconbacon, omelettes, etc — the basic breakfast staples. We were delighted when Johnny came to say hello and comped our bride’s breakfast — what a treat for her! I can’t wait to visit again!

My family has been in Myrtle Beach for almost a week before we stumbled on Johnny Ds. We have had some of the worst breakfasts this week. Cereal everyday was looking like our best choice. Johnny Ds changed that. The menu is extensive on both the sweet and savory sides. I ordered the BananaCoconut French toast waffle and it was wonderful! Genius — add vanilla custard to a waffle and fry it. And as long as you don’t add syrup it’s not overpoweringly sweet. My husband ordered the Benedict special of the day featuring pork belly. He almost licked the plate! We love to eat out and he said it was one of the best pork bellies he’d ever had. The grits and house potatoes were also delicious. Finally, the service was top notch — pleasant and informative without being pushy. It helps to leave the coffee pot at the table. We have three days left — we may be back all three!

We love Johnny D’s. We are full time locals and eat here as often as we can. I asked Johnny about a breakfast that I saw posted on Facebook. It wasn’t on the menu. He asked the chef and it was the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. It had more lox on it than I ever get on a bagel with cream cheese. So delicious and I could tell that they use the better salmon. Can’t wait till next time. Thank you Johnny and staff and your chef is amazing as always. Sue and Rick(the taxi driver)

My wife and I haven’t stopped talking about this place since our trip to MB in November 2015. We’ve been telling everyone we know, even when we aren’t being solicited for restaurant recommendations… IT’S THATGOOD! The menu is well rounded with something for everyone and anyone, staff was exceptional, building was clean, chef even came out and spoke with guests. Will absolutely go back, in fact we can’t wait to go back!

I am a HUGE fan of their Food and Service but its way too chaotic here. WE were here at around 9:30 am and the place was PACKED, but we got seated in the next 5 minutes . We kinda ordered way too much food for 2 people as I was excited and everything looked Delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and made some suggestions. We got the Mushroom and Swiss Omlette with Homefries and Grits, French Toast and Cinnastix pancakes, everything thing was damn delicious but I couldnt ignore the fact that it was very chaotic, by 10 am the place was filled to the brim with people waiting to be seated, people waiting in line to be billed and I had people staring at me while I was eating. It was extremely uncomfortable with all the noise and with people staring at you to get their spot and all. I would love to have their food again on my next visit but I would choose a different time.

Chicken and waffles would be the biggest reason I would return back to Johnny D’s. The Mrs was not that impress with her french toast. Service was good and neals were reasonably priced. Nothing to write home about except that tge waffles and chicken were made from scratch.

This is our second time visiting this restaurant and it’s ok. I ordered the pound cake french toast and a side of bacon, passion fruit mimosa and coffee. The French Toast was cold, under-cooked, and mushy on the inside and the bacon was cold. The coffee was good and the mimosa wasn’t bad. The service was good this time around, but the food is not worth coming back. They do have a variety of items to choose from, but I’ll take quality over quantity any day.

Holy Waffless. The most delectable unique breakfast offerings ever in one place. It’s not gourmet breakfast, but it’s every delicious breakfast staple with unique twists. We had the Cajun chicken skillet, Irish Benedict American cheese grits and 2 yes TWO cinnamon waffles. After the first one we had to have a second. Crunchy and fluffy with just enough cream cheese icing to not need syrup and the rivulets of cinnamon, just incredible. You can really taste the quality ingredients. We can’t wait till our next visit.

We had an outstanding breakfast here Sunday 10÷18÷15. They were busy and there was a small wait time but they handled everyone very efficiently. My wife had the cinnamon waffle and I had the seafood eggs benedict. The food was outstanding. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us often. The owner came by to check on us also. We talked with him and could tell that he was very passionate about his business. Everyone was super friendly and they all worked together very well.

First time at Johnny Ds not sure what all the fuss is about this place. Our server well she was ok nothing special. Not overly friendly or attentive. The sweet tea we make better at home. Ordered country fried steak with gravy and eggs. The gravy was sweet almost too sweet threw me off a little. The menu is easy to read even though there are a lot of choices. The biggest issue with the menu is every page has stickers stating no substitutions in some of the groups. Now if I want grits instead of of home fries I am out of luck, which I was this morning. Not sure if I will come back.

3.5 I don’t give 5’s easy. Unilocal had failed us a few times on our trip, until we went to Johnny D’s a local hometown type of place. You don’t go for décor, you go for good food and service. Since the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out service was a 10!!! From manager to busser smiles and on top of it. We went when my husband heard red velvet waffles and it didn’t disappoint. Large variety of options. Couldn’t complain all food was great. We learned something here though is that there is a 11.5% hospitality tax? We did not get taxed this rate anywhere else in town, so it has me wondering now WTF??? So minus .5% until I can figure that out. She did give MILITARY discount… All in all will be our breakfast joint.

This place is absolutely AMAZING! The staff has that perfect amount of southern charm and the food was delicious! It’s certainly a place to visit when in town! When we were dining in, there were a group of retired locals that walked in and apparently they’re there every day :) their chef was kind enough to walk out of the kitchen and check on us! I can’t say enough about this place! You should definitely check it out!

This place was awesome! Great service from start to finish. Everyone was so welcoming and the head chef even comes around and makes her round to welcome you to the place and ask if everything is to your liking. We had ordered the santa fe omelet, the blueberry waffle($ 7), and the red velvet pancakes($ 8). Everything was wonderful. When we ordered a coffee they came with a small tin filled with milk. The vanilla latte was made to order at the coffee bar. I love when places have great attention to detail for coffee drinks! If i’m ever back in Myrtle Beach i’ll make sure to come back here!

This place was just what we needed before leaving Myrtle Beach. Breakfast was great here. As soon as we walked in we was greeted by the hostess and the owner. Something told me that got looks like someone named Johnny! It was lol! The food here was amazing as well as the service. Loved the way the owner interacted with everyone. He even introduced himself and his daughter who was the executive chef there and the brains behind the great menu. I had the French toast pound cake which was different but absolutely amazing. Get it, you won’t be disappointed !! Great place !!!

Great menu. Friendly service. Delicious food! I had the Enchilada Omelet and it was very good! The veggies were fresh, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and the sauce was spicy without being too salty(unlike many enchilada sauces). My son had the Red Velvet Waffle and liked it very much. My husband had an omelet, too… and also liked it. Our only complaint was the coffee. It was very bitter! Not strong, but«bitter». That was let down, but it won’t prevent us from going back the next time we’re in town.
