River City Cafe

We came here in the off season (January). One block off the beach. Walking distance from the big hotels on the strand. About 7 blocks from the pier on 14^th ave.
Food was FANTASTIC. Burger was everything you could wish for in a «big juicy burger.» Fries were yummy. Atmosphere was pleasant with outdoor option (we ate outside). Staff was super friendly and helpful (this was our first visit).
Highly recommended!

I took my teen boys there for lunch. Waitstaff and hostess were amazing. They made you feel welcome and were attentive. The burgers were delicious and fresh, but the fries were extremely greasy. None of the boys were able to eat them. I had the fried grouper platter with onion rings as an upgrade. I only got 2 rings! Also the grouper was over battered and when I took the thick batter off, I discovered the fish was slightly raw and still cold.

Had lunch on the run here today. I sat at the bar and had zero wait for service. The waitress was attentive and kept my tea glass full. I ordered the «Porker» and it was awesome. If you like grilled ham, bacon and two different type cheeses this sandwich is for you. A hard plastic cup of tea to go! I will return on my next trip.

There is nothing better than finding a good meal surrounded by cool air conditioning after a hot and humid day on the beach. River City will offer just that along with it’s quirky surroundings of graffiti inlaid license plates, of which I happen to be a big fan of.
We went there for lunch, and found no wait for the inside seating. Dinner seems to be a LOT busier as we found on our several trips to the beach. There are many different versions of burgers and chicken sandwiches on the menu, and the sweet potato fries are a must order. I’m not sure what kind of madness they inflicted on them, but they were doughy and delicious.
My only complaint is that the meal is served on literally the smallest plate that has ever been. That means things will be spilling off the sides onto the paper table covering, which is part of the charm, that I did not find so charming. Either dump the plate or give me something I can put on my hands on.
Yes, I’m being ridiculous, so ignore everything I just said after the sweet potato fry proclamation and find yourself a seat and a pair of hands. Enjoy that food now!

The wait was long but the food was great. The weather was so hot. We had to sit outside in the heat with no fan. Only the occasional breeze was there to give slight relief. Grease and heat just do not mix. But, this just means business is good.
The mens restroom single sink was out of order. Kinda gross if you think about it long.

Not a fancy place, perfect for a laid back lunch or dinner. Burgers are huge and absolutely delicious! I had the mushroom Swiss burger platter with fries and cole slaw, my boyfriend had the mac&cheese burger platter with onion rings that were enormous and felt like they weighed a pound each and his son had the pizza burger that had a huge slab of fried mozzarella on top of the burger patty with fries. The portions here are humongous so bring your appetite… You are guaranteed not to leave hungry!

Great Atmosphere & Wonderful Food!!! They even let you write on the tables! Try the Surf & Turf Burger! The servers are super friendly & go out of their way to give you an exceptional dining experience!

Have been visiting Myrtle Beach on and off since the late 90’s and this place is probably my overall favorite place to eat while I’m there.
Yes, it’s kind of a dive bar complete with peanut shells on the floor and license plates nailed to the walls, but I’ve always found the food to be high quality and well prepared.
The menu is pretty extensive so you can go with a group of people and everyone should be able to find something they enjoy. They have everything from your basic cheeseburger to some pretty tasty and spicy burgers. My current favorite is the Cowboy Burger.
My only complaint is the parking is a bit crowded and tight.

We loved this place– really cool atmosphere, a fun place and great for kids because it is lively. The Texas BBQ burger was delish. Come hungry because the burgers are huge.
