Not the greatest. Mediocre. Only been there once. Had a verde burrito. Not bad taste. Not much verde flavor. I expected some tomatillo or jalapeño flavor. Most of the verde was just cilantro. The pork was good, but the burrito was mostly rice and melted cheese, not alot of meat. It was hot and fresh. Ordered chips, guacamole and salsa as a side. The chips were good… warm, fresh, crunchy. The salsa tated like salty ketchup. The guacamole had a little brown on the mash, kinda makes me think it was not the freshest. The whole thing with a bottle of water cost me appx $ 12. If you are dying for mexican and not an expensive meal this will work.

You know when you go to a Mexican joint that advertises that it’s «authentic» mexican food but yet you get the same thing that’s on every other menu at any other mexican place? Viva is a breath of fresh air, while it does offer dishes most Americans would be familiar with, everything is made-to-order and tastes fresh and crafted by people who know what they’re doing. I ordered the fish tacos, and while they were very good, the amount of fish that was in the tacos was lacking. That was my biggest complaint. Prices were great, the staff was friendly, and it seemed like this was a spot a lot of locals hit up as there was a constant stream of takeout orders coming through. Service was quick as well. If you’re down in the Nags Head area this is a good place to hit up for lunch.

Not a bad place for your OBX Mexican fix. Food is tasty, place is clean, staff is friendly. For those who have eaten at Moe’s, the burritos are a bit smaller, but still good. Ingredients are just as fresh. They could definitely stand to give you more chips with your order. I think they gave me like 12. Overall, a good experience and would recommend. Don’t expect to be blown away with unbelievable cuisine. It’s not Texas. :)

It’s fast, relatively cheap, and they have food my kids would eat. The Fajita Ranchera Burrito was good and filled me up, but their chips needed salt and their salsa was just ok. We needed a good Mexican fix while vacationing in the Outer Banks.

Always had a great experience here. Food is very tasty, place is always clean and service always includes smiles and a thank you. Good specials and pretty much any burrito you get will fill you up.

They were so nice that I wanted to give them 5 stars, and maybe my problem was that I selected badly, but wow that was not good food. I had one of the daily specials, a vegetarian burrito, and it was essentially flavorless(vegetarians like flavor, people; stop giving us unspiced grilled/steamed food). Chips and guac were okay, though the guac was overly blended. Based on the Unilocal reviews, I had high expectations; they were clearly too high.

We visited with our girls for lunch. The food was very fresh and tasted great. The service was quick and the restaurant was very clean. We would go back again next time we are in town.

Taco salad was delicious. The shell was light and crispy. Will definitely be returning to try more!

I had an excellent Chimichanga today. It was full of fresh ingredients and tasted fantastic! As usual the place was spotlessly clean and the food was prepared with great care.

Absolutely the worst mex restaurant I have been to. chimichangas was under cooked, had no cheese, and lacked flavor. Quesodia was the same. No chips and dip were offered.

I had a steak Fajita Ranchera Burrito. The only thing missing is sour cream, which can be requested extra.

Wow! This place may look like just a hole in the wall, in a strip mall but this is a must try. The atmosphere is laid back, there isn’t to many tables and this may not be the place to have a sit down family dinner. The food is definitely the star here! I ordered a chicken and steak burrito with the chipolte sauce, and it was hands down one of the burritos I’ve ever had. The chicken and steak were so tender, flavorful and the perfect mix with the chipolte sauce. I will definitely be back to Viva! To try some of there other cuisine. Also, they serve authentic Mexican beer which is always a good choice.

Nachos and churros for a light lunch. Delicious food, clean restaurant and nice staff plus a large selection of Mexican beers and sodas.

This little spot in Nags Head does not get the credit it deserves! The women working are always SO friendly and are great at what they do! They make amazing Mexican food, not too salty like a lot of restaurants tend to make their food these days, but perfectly flavored. They are also very generous in the amount of food they give you and in giving you the toppings you ask for which makes me love them even more! The flavors in all of the dishes I have tried by them are AMAZING. The food is authentic, fresh, and all together better than any chain experience you will get. It is also very reasonably priced. It is a very cute little spot as well, very chill and relaxed to eat in. All together this was a great find that I am glad I got the pleasure of going to multiple times this summer. It is well worth the visit and great for anyone; families, significant other, or just yourself.

We love this place! The ladies that run it are super nice and the food is authentic. Salsas are good, tacos good, burritos huge, and fish taco salas(a special) was great. Much better than chain places and they put up with my 2 year olds. Highly recommend it!

One of the few places open for dinner in January. If we hadn’t visited on our last night we would’ve definitely been back again before the week was up. The two ladies seemed to have a lot of pride in their food! Chipotle chicken flavor was AMAZING and the food was cooked to order, fresh and Hot! The only reason I gave it a four and not a five was because with only one other group in restaurant it was very loud, and thus a TV or music or some type of a background noise would have made it more pleasurable.

Casual order-at-the-counter eatery, fresh cooked. American style tacos & burritos, IE the tacos have cheese & sour cream by default, but they easily made mine without. I had fish tacos and the fish was fresh grilled. Hubbie had a satisfying chicken burrito with beans & rice built in. They also make salad versions. Quick, easy and reasonably priced, we might eat here again on this trip. GF note: the tacos have soft flour tortillas by default, be sure to ask for corn which I think is a shell.

We were pleasantly surprised with Viva Mexican Grill. The food was great, freshly made, super yummy and served fast. As another reviewer mentioned, «a nondescript looking restaurant, in a nondescript strip mall» but the restaurant was clean and tidy. If you’re looking for a quick meal that’s actually going to taste great — visit Viva.
