Don’t let the large and rather empty space fool you. There is nothing impersonal about it. The staff is pleasant and the food exceeds expectations, as many can attest. I think they would do well to add some visual flourishes or some physical separation between the tables — this might make the space seem less intimidating and more cozy. Great beer selection and specials.

First off, I have to give these guys props for being brave enough to open a hop house in Nampa. My wife and I ordered a growler of Cherry Cider to go along with the hot summer day. It was cold and refreshing. For dinner we split an order of fried pickles and a reuben. We were pleasantly surprised by both. The pickles were crispy, beer-battered dill spears, rather than burger-sliced and soggy. Seriously the best fried pickles I’ve had. I don’t think I could finish a whole basket by myself… by they were awesome. My wife is a reuben fanatic to the point where she is afraid to order them at new places out of fear of being disappointed. But the Hop House didn’t let her down. The corned beef was the real deal – big chunks and not deli sliced. The bread was marbled and fresh. And the fries were good to boot. The ambiance is sparse, but the service is good. While the menu is basic, everything we had was quality. Overall, a very nice pub right in downtown Nampa!

Stopped in with a friend for a brew and bite to eat. We had a pitcher of Oatmeal Stout that was quite tasty. The bartender Will was knowledgeable about the many beers they had in house. If you want to try something on tap, just ask for a sampler. I had the Arrogant Ruben which was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. Very good and filling! My friend had the bacon cheeseburger and I heard no complaints from him. Someone was having a birthday party and so we even had a bit of desert. Very friendly place, and I look forward to going back again!

Great place! If you want Beer, they got you covered. They had a great selection of beers on tap and a wall of bottles. I am sold. This will be my goto place in Nampa to grab a pint and some grub. The food was amazing. I just got a simple cheeseburger and it was sooo good. I highly recommend you check this place out.

I decided to try this place out after I had heard it had a nice selection of beers. I am here to tell you they DO have a nice selection of beers on draught as well as bottles and cans. To go or in house. I also had the best Reuben Sandwich I have ever had in my life. They make the corned beef and there was plenty of it on the sandwich along with sour kraut and cheese, topped off with a special sauce, between two wonderful fresh slices of marble rye bread. Wow! Came with fries and I had a stout draught beer. Yum. You can’t go wrong here. Give it a try.

Came in for the first time with my wife to have lunch. She ordered a bacon cheeseburger I ordered the western. Both came out with quite a bit of fries and not overcooked. The bread looked like it would be much but it was light and airy. Good food to value ratio. I had the porter beer for $ 3 .75. They have 6 different crafted beers on tap at any one time. they switch amount every time a keg floats. Friendly staff and quick service make this place a hit. Will definitely be back!

Seriously great food. The place really exceeded my expectations. I have been there three times now and have tried something new every time and have not been let down yet. I have been recommending the hop house to anyone looking for a good local restaurant with great food and beer. Buy local and eat good

This place is as bare bones as it gets but I would give 5 stars to Will for his service and friendly attitude(and yo-yo skills!). They have a rotating selection of about 5 – 6 taps listed on a whiteboard and you can order a pint, pitcher or growler(I found there growler prices to be on the high side compared to places like 10B or Prefunk in Boise). They also have a wall of beer(think Brewforia or Bier: thirty) which offers a decent selection of bottles and cans. We were told they keep a large range of the beers on that wall cold in the back so ask if there isn’t something on the tap list that interests you. Food menu is very basic… fries, onion rings, fried pickles, burgers and some sandwiches. Not sure if this would be the best place to bring a hungry vegetarian… would be nice if you could sub in a veggie burger. I went with the cheeseburger and JP ordered the Arrogant Bastard Reuben special. My burger was pretty generic… patty seemed like a sysco special and there was definitely too much bun for the burger. The bun may have benefited from a quick toast on the grill to give it some texture. Fries were good but that’s kind of a gimme for Idaho. The space is large and open with a smattering of tables and some booths. Not a ton going on décor wise. There is one TV over the bar so unless you are sitting up there this might not be the best place to catch a game. This place could benefit from a website(not just occasional facebook updates). Will was welcoming and a great host during our visit.

Went here last weekend to have dinner and a few beers. We really enjoyed it! The western bacon burger(not sure if that was the proper name), was great! As well as the jalapeño poppers. Tons of beers to choose from! And as a previous reviewer said all the warm beers out front, they have in the back cold. If you are staying. This is a very casual restaurant, what i mean by that is you go to the bar to order. I do not mind this at all, in fact from a business stand point it very smart. I’m all about keeping cost down. But that being said the service was still great, very attentive and happy to help. We will be back! Also, the prices were very reasonable!

Great place to meet friends for a beer. Huge selection of canned and bottled beer, make sure to ask them for a cold one if you’re staying. Good rotating tap selection. Prices are very reasonable, and the food is good

Been here quite a few times now and the service, beer and food has been consistently good. Don makes sure you have the beer you want, with all facts behind it. My wife isn’t a huge beer drinker, but you wouldn’t know it. She picks brews like she picks a race horse; may be by name, state or alcohol content. It’s all written on the white board for you to ponder. If you feel like having a bump, there is nice line-up of whiskys to try. The food menu has been growing, so the limited burger and brat menu now includes wings, a hummus plate and a wrap or two. We look forward to biking into town to hang with whoever happens to be enjoying the Idaho Hop House.

We had a Groupon to go for burgers and brews. Wow, the Jalapeño Burger was one of the best I’ve ever had. I did remove the sautéed Jalapenos but the Chipotle Cheese was amazing. My brother things they deep fry the bacon — it was so crispy. I had a great wheat beer — light and citrusy. I think it was Donnie that waited on us — thank you!
