CVS pharmacy

Napa has very few 24 hour businesses, other than the Denny’s on Soscol, and the Loop Market across the street from this CVS. For a CVS, they have an extensive selection, with OK prices. It’s a good place for last minute errands. It’s near the Highway, centrally located between 29 and Silverado Trail. I was able to get what I needed and get my errand done quickly.

This review is for the pharmacy, we walked into the pharmacy seeking assistance after we had our luggage stolen (with prescription medicine in it).
The pharmacist here was annoyed and made it very evident our problem was not his concern at all. We left feeling lost and stressed, drove to a rite aid where the super caring and kind pharmacy staff got in touch with our Dr back at home and we were provided the assistance we needed. NEVER again will give business to CVS after the careless manner in which we were treated during a stressful time.

How does the ONLY 24 hour pharmacy in Napa not have amoxicillin available? After being discharged from the ER on a Sunday (son had an ear infection) the only place that was open at 8pm was this CVS and I was told they did not have amoxicillin and would not be able to obtain it for him until Tuesday! They did not offer any advice as to where else to go until I had to ask. Now I am at Walgreens in Vallejo to get his meds.

What a gem of a store! GREAT selection VERY helpful staff, always clean always helpful !

If zero stars were available, I’d give them that! How unprofessional can a staff be? Just stop in and try to get your prescription filled to find out. I’m not sure how insurance is in the system for one prescription and not for the next. Where does the information go? Wait, there’s more! My dr. calls in my prescription in the AM, go to pick it up in the late afternoon and it’s not ready. I’m told it’ll be «expedited,» 35 minutes later, after I left, I received a call letting me know my script is ready. If that’s expediting… what is a normal time frame? Wait, let me guess… days??? I just left and said I’d have my dr. call in a prescription elsewhere. I would not recommend this pharmacy!

I’ve been in here a bunch, and as far as I can tell, it’s a pretty standard CVS.
PROS:
— They’re open 24 hrs.
— Plenty of parking.
— Conveniently located on a big main street, in between Hwy 29 and the Silverado Trail.
CONS:
— No hot girls work here. :/

APPALLING
After experiencing problems with my eyes for some time I purchased (over the counter) Visine-​A eye drops from this CVS store yesterday.
Shortly after using it today I noticed that my vision had gotten very blurry — in fact, my pupil was dilated!!!
And because I don’t know what the ingredients for dilating eye drops are called, I gave the pharmacy a call to ask them.
At first I spoke to a young lady from the pharmacy department who then put me through to the «Pharmacist». I explained what had happened and asked if the eye drops might contain dilating ingredients but was told by the” PROFESSIONAL” that it does NOT and that there must be something going on with the eye and to see a doctor!
REALLY???
I just googled the question:
CAN VISINE-​A CAUSE THE PUPIL TO DILATE? and here is the answer:
Yes! The «A» part of Visine A is an anti-​allergy medicine that can dilate your pupil.
I did this to myself once and really freaked myself out! Then, I put a drop in the OTHER eye and watched the same thing happen :-)
It’s just a normal reaction to the anti-​allergy med. Nothing to worry about.

My question: Why does CVS offer a service where a professional pharmacist answers a question over the phone if the man clearly did NOT know what he was talking about — nor did he care!!!
I wouldn’t have minded if he had said to me, I don’t know ask a doctor, call the manufacturer, as your neighbor!!!
Since the pharmacist does not care about people, I shall not return to this CVS, neither will I have any prescriptions filled with them ever again!
