Came for Valentines eve. Place is packed, very festive. We were promptly seated, near the music which we had requested. Loved the atmosphere. No problem parking. Saw couples dressed up, as were we, and families. Nice. Had the half chicken, wonderful. Husband had filet mignon and the garlic bread and salad were yum. Let me add the dessert chocolate budino was luscious. This was a wonderful evening. The music made it really nice and we even danced between courses. Mellow crowd, everyone was having a great time. We will be back!

My boyfriend and I stumbled into Uva Trattoria for dinner after day drinking in Napa. We went to several restaurants and were given a 30+ wait time, Uva Trattoria was the only restaurant that could seat us immediately on a Saturday night. We started with the«Frito Misto» which is fried calamari, rock shrimp, seasonal vegetables, spicy aioli. It was delicious! They fried the calamari to perfection; not to crispy and not to soft. It was a big platter, it could have easily been enough for about three people. After the appetizer we decided to split a pasta off the specials and boy were we disappointment. The pasta had no flavor and felt like I was eating mush. The only good tasty aspect of the pasta was the grilled shrimp we added on. We devoured the shrimp and barely touched the pasta. I probably wouldn’t come back next time I’m in Napa.

Consistently great food & service at «below the Napa norm pricing» Music on Thursday thru Saturday nights, possibly Sunday too. Very good wine & beer list plus a full bar.

It was nice this place was open as late as it is, my wife and I getting a slow start to each day in Napa. The food is good not great and the service is the same. It does have a live jazz band but I couldn’t care less about that. Had the penne pasta and a Margherita pizza, neither were remarkable with the latter being a far cry from the standard. My wife had the clam linguine and wasn’t impressed either.

Great live music, nice ambiance. Food portions are large and reasonably priced. I would have given 5 stars, but my complaint is there were no free refills on soda and no warning. So we had a $ 10 Diet Coke. There is also free table bread upon request, but feel like they should just offer it. Felt a bit nickeled and dimed.

The place was a great find. We happened upon this place after a day in Napa. We were quickly seated and service was prompt. The risotto croquets were really tasty. We ended up with 2 orders of them. I had the gorgonzola gnocchi and it was absolutely amazing. The sauce was very rich and I could barely finish my plate because the serving was quite large. We had the bread pudding for dessert & that was awesome, too! After we ate, we wandered over to the«bar» side of the restaurant. A live 3 man band was playing and we were intrigued to stay a bit longer. The music & the performers were great and the dance floor was empty. We had a great time and the perfect end to our day!

Spent New Year’s eve here. It would’ve been an ideal evening if we didn’t have to wait 45 very long minutes despite our reservation.(Hopefully next year they’ll have that part of their New Year’s eve service figured out.) Once we finally sat down, it was a nice night. Our waiter was appropriately apologetic and very good at his job, comping us generously with appetizers, dessert and a tasty digestif. We both enjoyed our main courses and the wine we ordered was terrific. The band was a lot of fun. The champagne toast at midnight was exactly what it should be. We even danced. When we visit Napa again, we plan to go back on a normal night, sample more of their menu and take in some more live music. Note: Though they offer gluten-free pasta, I had to ask before being told that they use the same water to prepare all of their pasta. If you’re a celiac like me, you might like to know that I had no problems whatsoever with my steak, potatoes and vegetable dish.

This place is a staple when I come to Napa with by bf, 2 years ago, we came here with some friends we met at a winery, and ended up here again 2 years later! I think the food here is good, and very creative. I had the frutti di mare,(seafood pasta) and never had it here before so when I got it, I wondered why the pasta was black. It was really good, so I finished it before asking how it was made. I thought it was really creative that they use squid ink to color the noodles, they taste really good! I love trying new dishes, and this place made our night. The dessert(something budina) it was a flour less chocolate cake with strawberries and crème brûlée gelato and a sprig of mint, it was really good, the cake was not too sweet, and the Gelato was super sweet and went really well together. My bf also had Bleu cheese fries, they were really thin and flavorful, he never thought Bleu cheese would go well in fries, but he loved it too.

Fabulous food tonight! Never been here before but was interested in the music. The music was just right and from the hostess to the waiter to the bussers everyone was top-notch. The music wasn’t too loud and the ambiance is incredible. If ur looking for dinner and something more this is the place. Oh, btw we ordered the butter lettuce salad with apples and goat cheese, the fritto misto, the ravioli with the lemon cream sauce, and the bread pudding. Fabulous! Also, Unilocal has a check in for a free glass of house wine. Don’t miss Uva! You won’t regret it!

Good food, great music! This was one of the best decisions we made in Napa. Appetizers are large — definitely enough for two, or three. Surprisingly limited wine selection by the glass but this is really more of a bottle place. There’s a parking lot at the end of the street.

Wine tasting great wineries in the Napa Valley, check. Great dinner after a full day of wine, Uva is the place. The menu is extensive, great wine list, and a full bar to boot. I liked the pasta and the salad was big enough to share. I have to give props to a restaurant that has phenomenal service. The staff was excellent, and because we had a large dinner party, the timing of bringing everyone’s food out hot and not overdone is tricky. Uva hit it out of the park with service, good quality, timing, temperature, all excellento. In addition, the owner/manager came over to our table to ensure that everything was prepared as expected, that is first class service. The wine list was extensive, although we were well past that at that point, but we enjoyed the mixed drinks and cappuccino coffee after the meal. Great job, we will definitely be back!

Good experience though few … «but“s! The seating we got was excellent, perfect for a family style dinner in a cozy seating area. The kids had a good time, they were also able to play after dinner on stage. The service was friendly and almost familial style. The food varies, with some very good dishes like the Bolognese. Overall though I felt the dishes were little overpriced, considering quality, and comparing with other restaurants. Also, reading many other users reviews before trying out this restaurant, my expectations were set pretty high.

Several us visited Napa a few months back before we headed to Pebble Beach so I apologize if this review is a little dated but thought I’d get it out there. Recommended by a local who states local know where to eat we head off to Uva on our second night in town… jam packed with various rooms 3 to be exact to dine in. the most desirable is the bar area dining room as we entered just as a jazz trio had taken stage. Lucky to secure a table for 5 we find that our 1st bottle has no corkage fee nice touch. Menu was Italian but also not your basics so to speak … we had quite a variety of items though the only appetizer we had were the rice balls as our all day drinkathon’s tended to fill us. They were excellent and the spicy marinara was nice. Onward to entrees… Roast loin of pork layered with pork belly and stuffing over Risotto was nothing like I had ever tasted before but it was very good… A pan fried Veal picata was not sauteed like most places which makes the veal a little tougher than it should be… sauce on it was excellent. Pasta with seafood was a monster dish with loads of seafood in a light marinara sauce. Recommended by our server was Ravioli in a brown butter sauce. this would not be my choosing but our amigo went with it. he thought it was Just OK… Believe it or not the winner was Mary’s Chicken breast one of the most juiciest stuffed chickens I’ve ever tasted… Service was spot on ALLNIGHT top notch… and a crème burlee was off the charts… Certainly a repeat next time in town and the jazz trip were great.

I was prepared not to like Uva Trattoria. I mean I didn’t want a heavy Italian lunch just before engaging a weekend of serious wine tasting. But there I was with the Napa Crew, sitting down to a meal. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the choices were good, and my wife said in no uncertain terms: «We are coming back!» You can’t get a better endorsement from her than that. As for me, I’ll give it five stars after I get a little better customer service(I was consistently served last). But keep on keeping on, Uva. You’ve got a good thing going.

Food: 4.5 Stars Service: 4.5 Stars Coming back from a trip to Italy, I didn’t expect to find an italian restaurant which would come close to the gastronomical wonders of Europe. I felt that Uva made a solid effort and came close in certain respects. I came with my parents to Napa valley on a Thursday and for dinner I was Unilocaling around to find a nice spot. Stumbled upon Uva when we were walking around Napa and looked pretty authentic and popular so we walked in. We ordered arancini’s and garlic bread for starters. Both were delicious — I didn’t feel that the garlic bread was too fresh, but it was very crunchy and still tasty. I mean, who doesn’t like garlic bread? For dishes, we did four different entrees and shared family style(the restaurant was very accommodating). We got the risotto, rigatoni, a fresh grilled fish(trout?), and a pizza(prosciutto). Decently generous portions and tasty as well. Risotto had some berries in it which gave a unique sweet taste along with crispy bacon which you could break into the pasta. Rigatoni was a little underwhelming. The fish was nice and fresh. The Pizza was generous on toppings which we loved, but it wasn’t piping hot fresh when it came to the table. All-in-all a very nice italian experience and I would say rather authentic surprise in Napa.

Live band on Saturday was fun and contributed to the casual yet«looking for a good time» feel. I didn’t even wine or dine here but I was a part of my friend’s bachelorette party and we went in for a short while to possibly hit up the bar and/or dance to the live music. The lucky girl danced with a bunch of ladies(married ones!) and had a great time letting loose after wine tasting all day. The song«Give Me One Good Reason to Stay Here» now has a whole new meaning to me. Maybe one day we’ll come back to try some Italian food– the specials board near the quieter dining area had some very tasty sounding pastas on it. The place was crowded!

We decided to have dinner here last Thursday for our final night in Napa. The place was clean and spacious. Food was flavorful. The hostess was very hospitable. She even took time to describe to us what we ordered. What made this resto unique was the live music playing nightly— pleasant change fr the usual quiet dining. The reason why we took away a star was because of the layout of the tables. It could be better if everyone can see the performer on stage. I think it’s the tall divider in the middle of the room that blocks the viewing angle. The owners can probably make it lower.
