Castro’s Backroom

Through out New England Cigar lounges are rare, with that said whats even more rare is such a PERFECT Cigar lounge as Castro’s Backroom. This establisment (s) there are a few through out NH, is hands down the best cigar bar I’ve ever been too — not snobbish, not cold, not elitest. What they are… open, friendly, knowleable happy to offer advice, point to a specific selection to help you expand your pallet. I have frequanted a few of their establishments and I can say it’s not only worth the stop in, but even more so worth grabbing a stick and sitting down to soak up the very «Old School» ambiance that adourns the walls of each of there stores, not to mention the lively conversation that takles place. If the lively conversation isn’t for you they have a quiet section to open your lap top and get some work done. I’m a outside sales consultant and enjoy the occasional cigar while doing much needs screen time — nothing beats Castro’s Back Room !!!

Grabbed some dinner down the street then stopped in, on a whim for a smoke, which was a great call. Walk in humidor and quite the selection. Reasonable prices and a great bunch of guys watching TV escaping from their wives. Highly recommended.

Great old time cigar lounge. Nice seating area with some barber chairs, a couple stadium seats, couch, TV of course and more.

I like this place. The vibe here is cool and very non-​pretentious. I came in looking for a specific cigar that a friend got me, and it took forever to find it. I probably should’ve asked for help, but it wasn’t clear who actually worked there as opposed to who was just hanging out.
I think the prices are a little higher than most, which is why I took away one of the stars. But the selection makes up for it. And the guys here seem to know their stuff.

Smokey, awesome and a rare find these days. Buy your favorite cigars, cigarettes and other tobacco products here. Hang out, watch tv with the guys? why not?!

If I were conducting a review on the cigars alone, I would be giving this place a lower rating. The selection was ok, the prices were midly overpriced, the place was dirty and smokey, and the walk in humidor was rather dry as was some of the cigars. So why am I giving this place 4 stars? Well, first this cigar shop had more character then almost any shop I have ever been in. It was like I was in a professional blue collar cigar smoker’s shop, not some young rich yuppie tourist trap. This place has a row of freakin’ old fashioned barber’s chairs in front of a flat screen TV for Chr-​st sake… how cool is that. There was even a big friendly black dog in the store… and even he looked like he smoked cigars. You could smell, see, and feel the cigar smoke everywhere in this palce, and you are guaranteed to smell like an ashtray when you exit the door. Additionally, this place has interesting cigar memorabilia plastered all over the walls, and old cigar aficionado magazines scattered around the tables. There was also an upstairs that I was told is occassionally used as a poker room. This place is just flat out cool and I would gladly pay a few bucks mo for a stoggie, just for the opportunity to visit such a unique and interesting cigar shop.

I love stopping in at Castro’s several times a week for a good smoke. I feel very comfortable here. This is the kind of casual place you come to relax, talk to old friends and make some new ones along the way. Eric and the rest of his staff are amazing at helping me select new smokes to try.

Favorite local smoke shop. Love the people. Love the Chairs. I make this a stop before any big outing to grab a few cigars. Easy place to hang out on a lazy Sunday to watch an Early game or watch some pga tour. One of my favorite spots to relax on main st.

Only complaint… seemed to take a moment before anyone realized I was there to help me. LOL But once I got someone’s attention, staff was very friendly and helpful.
Selection was fantastic, and prices were more then reasonable.
Great little discovery for my trip up to Manchester, and glad I stopped in. Definitely a place worth checking out.

Great place to buy Cigars and other Tobacco products. Old fashion Tobacco shop which specializes in a vast selection of quality Cigars. Their smoke filled shop is for sure a step back in time to the day of community bonding over a cigar. You can enjoy your cigar their at the shop in one of their old fashioned Barber chair or just take it to go. Very knowledgeable staff, this place knows their stuff!!!
