BUYER BEWARE-​On June 29^th one of their work trucks hit my car. The car was repaired through my insurance and Gate City has told GEICO they are UNINSURED and have not taken responsibility-​despite the fact that their driver admitted fault. Poor business practice…

We hired Gate City to remove some trees to improve our view. They arrived when promised and cleaned up afterwards. The crew was professional and polite and helped take down a hanger in a tree by the power line. We obtained several estimates and they were all within 10%. We used GCT because they had their own crane and didn’t need to subcontract out that work. Our neighbor used them to remove some large pine trees and they came highly recommended.
Communication can be difficult — I had to call several times in order to speak with someone to set up an apportionment. Keep calling, eventually someone will call you back.

Called yesterday and Mr. Fredette showed up this morning, gave a very reasonable estimate and said he could do it now. My eyes bugged out when I saw how very reasonable his price was to remove 11 stumps. It’s all done, and it took him very little time (about a half hour).
I recommend Gate City Tree Service heartily. Great job!

We had some long long trees on the edge of our property that we feared with our harsh winters would one day come crashing down on one of our neighbors house. These trees where on a slight slant of of the trees where not entirely straight. Total of 5 Trees 3 where straight easy ones higher above the harder two the long ones at the edge.
We called him and he assured us he could do the work with a bucket truck for a fair price. He came cut the 3 easy trees, and said he would come back for the other 2 when the weather was better and safe for him to enter his truck safely. MONTHS passed by with plenty of dry days. We called him a number of times at one point he stopped answering!
I ended up calling him on a friends phone and he picked up! He gave me a BS story about how he cant do it and promised next week. I called him again when he did not show up on that day on another number seeing as how he was avoiding me. I cut it to him straight While I might not have been the most pleasant with him on my end I can tell you this was one of many blown appointments! He got angry at me to the point of being unprofessional and demanded I pay him 400dolars for the 3 trees he did cut down.
We had enough of dealing with him. Paid him and he left. What a nightmare that people who we did call had to bring in a crane to remove the trees. They said there was no other way to do it just for liability reasons alone and that since we had the crane out they could have removed the 3 trees Kevin cut for half of what he had charged us.
Kevin is unfair, dishonest, and a liar.
