While shopping at Pheasant Lane Mall, I saw a display of art submitted by more than a dozen local area artists and discovered Nashua Area Artists Association, a non-profit organization that supports the advancement of local artistic talent and growth of local artisans. After visiting the website, I became a member and discovered future artist opportunities(such as City Arts Nashua’s 11th Annual Art Walk). I learned that they have four types of memberships: $ 10 for Students(17 years and younger), $ 20 for College/University Students(must be currently enrolled), $ 30 for Adults(18 years and over), and $ 50 for Family(two adults, two children in same household). Through funding, they are able to host lectures and artist demonstrations, member exhibits, museum field trips, an online Members’ Gallery, and a public outreach program through our children’s art activities and college scholarship program. A current call for art is for Beaver Brook Fall Festival Art and Photography Show happening September 26 – 27 in Hollis, NH with deadline of September 21st At the Art Hub Gallery, you’ll find jewelry and framed artwork from various members, some of which might make great gifts for those on your holiday list. Their business hours are Thursdays/Fridays from 12:00pm — 6:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am — 2:00pm.
