After going to Beyond the Edge today I have to say I will not be going back. The service is atrocious and the server we had had a bad attitude, and disappeared from the table. He never asked us if we wanted another beer. Then I tried to use my two-for-one beer coupon and apparently they specify certain times you can use your two-for-one ticket. It’s funny next-door to Beyond the Edge is Drifters, a bar which allows you to use your two-for-one coupon whenever you want. I had to pay for my lunch at the bar because the waiter never came back to the table at the end. It was a very strange experience.

They took away their full menu and only have a «game day» menu now on Sundays — sad days as their incredible pizzas are not on this limited menu. I guess they’re trying to speed up their service on busy days?

Great menu great atmosphere huge beer selection many local crafted beers. Happy hour Monday thru Friday 3 to 72 for 1 really one of the best places in five points area. Several great choices in this area but you won’t go wrong with this one Over a hundred items on the menu and always fresh

They have an outdoor area and a side«non smoking room»(which is about half as smoky as the main area) for those of us who hate smoke. Lots of cheap drinks and tons of sports games on. Our waiter did forget our order, while checking on the table next to us 5 times, so we waited on one drink for half an hour. Maybe he had a bad day… when I sat at the bar the service was great. I’ve been a few times and it’s been a mixed bag, but for the cheap drinks, I’d try it again.

Smoke free which is great and the 241 is the best deal in town. The burger is great and outside comes alive with music at some point during the night. It’s a nice option if you can’t stand smoke of the other options. BBQ is ok but I would prefer Edley’s.

We popped in here to beat the heat and grab lunch during the Tomato Art Festival. We lucked out and got a table off to the side in the air condition overlooking the band stage! A perfect place to cool off! We expected«bar food» but were pleasantly pleased with our choices. I had a tomato, basil and mozzarella flat bread and hubby had the black bean quesadilla. The French fries and mustard potato salad were good as well. Our server was prompt, cheerful despite the place being packed. She apologized several times for the delay, in our food saying the kitchen was backed up! We enjoyed the people watching while we waited. Overall, it’s great for what it is, a neighborhood bar in East Nashville!

I’ve been here several times and its always a good time! Very casual atmosphere, friendly servers, the usual sport bars food, trivia, dart boards & lots of TVs! It can be a bit loud & smoky in the main room, but that is how a bar should be! For those who like a little fresh air with their beer there is a non smoking back room & a lovely patio !!

Today I tried the meatballs, sans bread, and a garden salad with bleu cheese dressing. DJ waits on us and remembers everything we are eating and drinking. keeps our iced tea glasses filled and the food comes out of the kitchen pretty quickly. This place doesn’t fill up at lunchtime. which is rather enjoyable because the noise level is quieter. They do allow smoking, but no one smokes during lunchtime, inside. which is very polite. Saw several different dishes come out of the kitchen to our party… Everything looked good. Even the french fries! I like this place for lunch.

It is what it is. It’s a sports bar in a good neighborhood. This means tvs, beer, better-than-average bar noshes, and ample seating. Unfortunately, it also means smoke — lots and lots of smoke. It’s almost overwhelming. A dive bar, I expect such polluted air. A sports bar with food/eating, not so much. But, again, it didn’t come as a surprise and it is what it is. You can take it or leave it. For a little while, I could take it. During that little while, I enjoyed a decently-priced amber beer and walked around to check out the Golden Tee and pool set up. I was hungry and in the mood for some bar eats so I dove into the menu. Take some time on this. The bar is huge and the portions are bigger. I decided on the nachos. If you’re doing this solo, go for the small. I ordered the large and the waitress gave me a deserved side-eye and changed my order to a small. I took umbrage to her unilateral action… until I saw the platter. My nachos for one could have fed 3 people — and I am a big eater. A large could easily satisfy a table. This isn’t haute cuisine but I devoured the nachos because, nachos. These nachos came with chicken chili, cheese, olives, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes, and salsa. I opted to get it without sour cream because, nasty. Plus, the nachos came with a generous amount of toppings so every chip had something to do. Kudos to the nacho organizer. BTE is a place you end up – not one you plan on coming to. I don’t mention that as an insult. It is what it is and BTE does what it does quite well. If it weren’t for the overwhelming smoke, this would be a 3.5÷4 star review. But the smoke… it’s intense. Come prepared.

Went here After Mad Donnas. I really really liked it for the service, food and customers. No I was not drinking and I was no scoping out anyone. However people were Nice here. The servers the customers and the food looked pretty dang good. Chatted with a guy and his girl and the nachos looked great, pizza amazing and the salad made me want to order one although the pizza had my attention. I went to chat with a friend who had beer. Ok really!!! I Do t drink beer but 2 for 1 is pretty tempting and wine by the glass is also very reasonable at 5 or 7 dollars per glass. Wish I Loved beer. Would be awesome. Did do some people watching as stated above and people seemed comfortable here. Do u ever look around and see that? What are their stories and are they here bc hungry or tired or just for the food. You can play trivia and some tables enjoyed it but they were not allowed. Service was really Good for the little we ordered. They have a bar seating area and outside. All looked inviting. Parking in lot.

I stopped in for lunch today with a friend. We were going to Edly’s but took what we thought was a wrong turn, ending up in the parking lot of Beyond the Edge. It was actually a right turn! My friend has been hankering for good BBQ with Onion Rings. NOPLACE serves these two delicacies together. However, the BBQ came to the table from the sister restaurant, Drifters, while the molten, crisp and sinfully delicious onion rings came to the table from Batter’d and Fried, another sister restaurant. My friend struggles with MS and so it would have been impossible for him to have enjoyed precisely the lunch he wanted without the service that went well beyond the call of duty at Beyond the Edge this day. I just wish I had tipped more!

Everything on the menu is really good, not just for bar food. The Tvs are great and they have pool and darts. The only issue is you will reek of cigarette smoke… reek.

This place is great ! All food items are under $ 10& they always have a 2−4−1 special. They have a lot of tv’s to watch all the sports. They have a pool table and darts in a second room with a bar which is also nice. I’ve never had to wait a long time for anything at this place.

2 stars because of the fact that I was forced to pay $ 15+tax for a quesadilla tonight. Up charges as followed: $ 2 for removing dairy cheese and replacing with hummus(a tub of hummus is $ 2.50 at trader joes FYI) and $.50 for avocado but the avo isn’t my gripe here… The best part was the waitresses defense as I tried to reason with her that hummus is less of a cost than cheese — «um well the food expense for hummus is WAY more than cheese, and you’ve been lucky because we haven’t charged you this much the previous times you have ordered it this way» No thanks.

Good pub food — we had wings — veggie wrap and chips and cheese dip. This is a bar. Dark-smokey — loud. Located in a hip neighborhood with a lot of unique shops. Nice outdoor seating options.

**Cough cough** That’s me prepping for my review. Cause the first thing that comes to mind when I think of BtE is all the smoke that billows out the front door upon entry. Gotta love the East side and that 98% of the bars allow smoking. Sigh. The food is pretty decent bar fare and I often find myself here to get a few drinks and maybe a snack whilst watching(or in my case ignoring) the games that may or may not be on at the time. My friends seem to always congregate here for various sporting events or to meet up, so I reluctantly will join them. But, the drinks are pretty reasonably priced so all in all its not so bad. Just don’t wear anything that absorbs the smoke and be prepared to wash out your hair a few times.

we came into this place cause it was open and serving food. tried the red door east first but they didn’t take my ID because the guy couldn’t find my birthday on it. i know. we were hungry. i had a tuna sandwich. which was good. one thing i didn’t like about this place was the fact that you are allowed to smoke, even indoors. thats kinda nasty. i know this is a state law or whatever. i don’t care. its still nasty. nasty is nasty.

Food = awesome! Beer = awesome! They have a good size bar with a lot of TVs. The only downside to this place, if it’s an issue for you, is its a bit smokey. However, very cool bar with a local feel. Would definitely visit again!

This review is based off of two visits. First visit: Had a girl’s happy hour with one of my girlfriends. I hadn’t been before so I agreed to meet her here. For some reason, when I go to an establishment such as this, I always find myself ordering wings. It’s 6PM on a Tuesday and guess what? They’re out of wings. Uhhhh what??? How can you be out of wings at a bar? I ended up ordering a sandwich instead. I think it was a ham sandwich or something. It wasn’t bad but as you can see, wasn’t very memorable either. Second visit: The main stage of the Tomato Art Festival was actually set up in their parking lot. It was hot out and I wanted a seat and a nice adult beverage to cool me down. We found a booth inside and sat ourselves. The waitress was slooooowwww. She brought out our waters, took our drink orders and … of course the order of 18 buffalo wings. They come in increments of 6,12 or 18 and in 5 different flavors. We ordered the hot with ranch. The wings were surprisingly very very good(at least to me and my friends). The wings were crispy and the buffalo sauce was perfect. Both times, whenever you need something extra like bleu cheese, more water or your check –you have to flag the waitress down and wait at least 5 minutes. I would come back and put up with the bad service for the wings. :)
