Dentophobia. I has it. With a rather extensive understanding of things medical, there is very little that«bothers» me. However, until 2004, I would not go to a dentist unless I HAD to.(Translated as, «I’m in so much pain right now, I don’t care what they do to me…», or something of the like.) This undoubtably stems from several nightmarish experiences as a child at both the dentist’s and orthodontist’s offices. Occasionally thinking my phobia was absurd, I would make an appointment with a random dentist for a cleaning and consultation. I would walk out with clean teeth, but totally freaked out, swearing to never return. When sedation dentistry came around, I had hope! Only to be heartbroken due to lack of insurance coverage and out-of-pocket cost. Yikes! I befriended a chick with the same fear, and she recommended Bill Robertson. She explained that his office was not equipped for sedation dentistry, but he certainly had an affect like one! I was in one of those bad moments, so felt I had nothing to lose by trying this guy out. All these years later, I don’t have to drag myself there. I go willingly!(Hallelujah!) Reasons why I love this dentist and his peeps: 1. He is affectionately called«Dr. Bill» by many, removing the«stuffiness» factor altogether. 2. He is the only dentist in his practice, so you’ll always have the same guy. 3. He is always genuinely happy, and doesn’t «fuss» because you forgot to floss. No matter what mood you’re in, he’s awesome at putting you in a good mood too, and in my case, putting me at ease. 4. He LISTENS! He took the time to listen to my concerns, and continually customizes my care to work through my issues. 5. His staff, Denise and Lindsay, are the sweetest chicks ever, and totally add to the comforting experience. 6. He’s «been there, done that» practicing dentistry in the military, all the way to being a partner of a prestigious dental group. He now practices in his small office in Bellevue because he wants to. His office isn’t close to my abode, but I would drive to Clarksville for this dude. 7. I feel Dr. Bill has a true love for dentistry, and a passion for making people smile again(like me!).
