Efficient, delicious, and inviting — Patrick’s is a cozy Cajun oasis amidst the concrete bustle of Berry Hill. The house on Bransford is a great getaway for a quick meal that will remind you of New Orleans without the debauchery. The étouffée is steamy, sultry, and rich. The po’ boys have the perfect blend of bread, meat and mayo with a crunchy pickle. And the jambalaya is the genuine article. I’ve been to Patrick’s four or five times and never had to wait long for my food; conversely, though, it hasn’t ever been particularly crowded. It’s a quick, quiet, tasty getaway I wholeheartedly advise you to try.

If anything, this place has gotten better over the last few years. The meat pies are flakier and fresher than they used to be, and gumbo is tasty. I love the sensation dressing on any salad. I do think the artichoke ravioli would be better with a less tangy sauce… Maybe a butter and garlic or an Alfredo as an option? Tangy tomato and sharp artichokes just don’t blend that well. Friendly service and a New Orleans laid back vibe. It is especially nice when you can sit outside. A great neighborhood feel.

Great service and really friendly causal environment. Food is ok, the portions are very large and that’s a plus but the po boy is pretty generic and definitely not the best you’ll ever have. Otherwise crawfish is well it’s crawfish and not crayfish so do with that what you will.

Atmosphere: Located on Bransford on the opposite side of the street of Pfunky Griddle. I usually get here at an odd time but I imagine if it was ever busy then parking can be an issue. Overall the place is pretty trendy. The one thing I noticed the handful of times I’ve been here is that they seem to not care about A/C. The interior is usually humid and warm from the kitchen but honestly if you get a chance to sit outside, assuming conditions are ideal, I would recommend sitting outside. Service: Table service for dinner. I believe it was counter service for lunch. I’ve never had an issue with timing or lack of service. Food: I’ve had nothing but Po-Boys here and have tried the Jambalaya once. The jambalaya wasn’t anything special but the po-boys are probably one of the best in Nashville, if not the best. Keep in mind I said in Nashville. I’ve been in New Orleans numerous times and this is comparable. Obviously the ones in New Orleans will be better but what do you expect out of a landlocked state? I haven’t had a po-boy in Nashville that comes close. Shrimp or Oyster Po-Boys are the only way to go. The menu’s vary slightly from Lunch and Dinner so be aware. Overall: It’s my go-to for my po’boy kick. Definite must-try for someone wanting some cajun fare but don’t want to make the drive to the gulf.

Been here twice for lunch and once for dinner. Enjoyed it every time. The patio is nice, the inside is as well. You order at the counter for lunch and receive table service at dinner time, very chill. Their salads are pretty reasonable; you can add shrimp, crawfish or oysters. Maybe something else but I forget. I’ll also add that their beer prices are reasonable; about $ 4 for a craft beer. The one negative is that the service is slow but whatevz. Recommended for people that like to have a good time and are not ‘haters’.

I thought I finally found a decent cajun place in Nashville, and I was wrong. Food: we ordered a shrimp po-boy, and a jambalaya. For $ 10, the jambalaya’s portion was too small. It’s also very very salty, you almost can’t taste anything besides salty and spicy flavors. Service: SLOWWW, SOOOOSLOWWWW. the staff was nice but it was so slow. We were the only customers waiting for food, and it took them almost 30 minutes to bring out the food. I understand the whole made to order, being fresh etc, but 30 min is just unacceptably long when the restaurant is not busy.

I am so used to writing bad reviews that it is a nice break to write a good one. I had the grilled chicken poboy w a side of jambalaya. The chicken was very fresh and you could tell it was made to order. As for the jambalaya, what great flavor. I could have eaten a whole plate. I will definitely be back to try some other things. Also the house chips looked good but I didn’t try this time. Only down side is it was pretty hot in there.

Food was good, but my crawfish étouffée was a little cooler than I’d liked. Great front patio.

The patio has a great Nashville neighborhood feel. But the food is definitely not Nashville! I haven’t had an oyster po-boy like this since I was just a few feet from the mighty Miss-iss-ipp down there in that Frenchy state. It was shared among our group as an app. The bread was perfectly chewy. And those oysters? My god, the oysters! I honestly could have ordered another one as my meal, but I wanted to try something else from the menu. The wonderfully friendly server recommended some sort of duet of jambalaya covered with their ettouffee. The latter was fantastic! The jambalaya, I found, was inedible. I think the cook was a bit too generous with the salt and spice. Not hot, mind you. Just too much. My dinner friends, that happened to order the same thing, muscled through it, but they voiced the same complaint. I’ll definitely be back for another sandwich and hopefully the gumbo!

What an underwhelming and over-priced experience. Went there today for lunch and got a ½ shrimp po boy and side of étouffée. It cost $ 13.65 and that’s with drinking water. The sandwich was pretty dry, not enough dressing and skimpy on the shrimp. Étouffée was a spoonful of soup over a bunch of rice. Everything served up in styrofoam cups & plates. One and done for me.

Had lunch at Patrick’s today. Wife had a fried chicken po boy combo and loved it. I had a half oyster half shrimp po boy and a bucket of ponys! The weather was great and they have a wonderful patio for eating and drinking. Can’t wait to have dinner there!

My friend and I just ate here tonight. I had been here for lunch with my husband before, so I was excited to try dinner. My friend ordered the Ravioli, which she really enjoyed. I ordered the Étouffée, which I had had before at lunch. I guess this batch of étouffée was a lot spicier than what I remembered cause my nose and brow were sweating like crazy. When the waitress saw that I hadn’t eaten much and asked if I wanted a box, I told her«no” – it was just too spicy. So she offered to get me something else instead. I picked an Oyster Po’Boy, which was wrapped up for me to take home. Needless to say, I was really grateful for this gesture. And I’m eating half of the po’boy now – delicious! Thanks so much for being so understanding and generous!

Still on the hunt to find some authentic ethnic food with great flavor in Nashville and based off reviews I was hoping Patrick’s Bistreaux(although New Orleans food isn’t exactly«ethnic») would be a winner… sadly just another let down. The building/restaurant itself is a quirky little place with very little parking but its better on the inside than it looks and on a nice day would be great to sit outside at a nice shaded table. As I’ve found with a lot of Nashville restaurants they are in older homes or buildings and they need better airflow because I shouldn’t come into a restaurant, eat for 20 – 30 minutes then walk out feeling like i can see the smell of the food coming off my clothes so some air ventilation or kitchen smell containment is desperately needed. That being said, I would really give them a strong 3.5 stars. The service was very friendly and patient to explain a few of the menu items to me. I ordered the Jambalaya and it was served up quick and looked great although different than other jambalaya that I’ve had in the past since it was on the drier side. The smoked sausage and pork tasted good but the chicken was really dry and I had to pick around it. The tomatoey sauce was also on the dry side which made me wonder if they just cooked up a giant batch and let it sit under a heat lamp as people order it vs. cooking anything fresh to order. The plate was a decent size as I couldn’t finish it all but I would have preferred a little less jambalaya and maybe some corn bread or something on the side to go with it. Another big complaint was that they have no beignets… what kind of place claims to be authentic Louisiana food and doesn’t offer any desserts, especially beignets?! Overall, the visit was fine, just okay, nothing to brag about.

As someone with no prior experience with Cajun cuisine who tends to dislike spicy food, I was a bit apprehensive when my husband wanted to try Patrick’s. I am happy to say I have broadened my food horizons and found an excellent new place to be a regular! Ambience: The building itself looks like it might have been a house at one point, the main dining area is very open and inviting, surrounded by windows. The decorations are very reminiscent of New Orleans, with chandeliers, bright colors, jazz music and fleur de lis tables. The environment lends itself to a night out with friends for large portions on tin plates and a few beers(they even had some Wisconsin brews which reminded me of my hometown). The entrance is actually on the right side of the building or just come through the back door. Food: I had the BBQ shrimp and crawfish étouffée and my husband had catfish fingers with the two step(jambalaya) and we sampled from each other’s plates. Like I said, I do not like spicy food but the BBQ shrimp was so full of flavor that I would have eaten the sauce alone with a spoon! Étouffée was amazing with perfectly cooked rice. For dessert we had their house special with some of the best New Orleans brewed coffee I have ever tasted. Service: Our server was excellent, very friendly and attentive and even gave us to-go cups of the coffee because we liked it so much! Price: With tip, we paid $ 73 for two beers, a glass of wine, two appetizers, two entrees, coffee and dessert. Not bad at all. HIGHLYRECOMMEND. You will not be disappointed!

Charming and delicious. Finally got a chance to try this little bistro and it did not disappoint. As a huge catfish fan I was excited to order the catfish almondine, it was delicious! Very crunchy outside and the catfish was hot and juicy on the inside, with dirty rice and string beans I really enjoyed my dinner. Other meals at the table were the jambalaya, which was good but not spectacular and the artichoke and Parmesan ravioli which was AMAZING! Our server was awesome, let us sample some wine and beer when we were being finicky about what to order. Everything was hot and arrived pretty quickly. The atmosphere is also very charming. Cute funky tables, tin ceiling, and cute lights out front. We will be back!

I can make better gumbo with my eyes closed. If you’re selling yourself as a cajun restaurant, you should learn to make the signature dish. Was that a powdered roux? Bitch, please. I’m insulted.

My coworker and I got held over in Pulsaki for the weekend and were getting sick of the local fare, so we decided to go to Nashville for a bit of variety for dinner. On the way, we got talking about burritos and he brought up Juan’s Flying Burrito in New Orleans. That made me think, you know what would be good? Cajun food! So we look through Unilocal and sure enough, Patrick’s Bistreaux shows up. We decided to give it a shot. Our server was great, very personable and welcoming. When she suggested the alligator ribs on special we had to have it. Plus some etoffe and jambalaya that were spot on. We gave our complements to the chef and later caught him at the back door. We thanked him and talked a minute about New Orleans, and when we mentioned, «Well we were talking about burritos in New Orleans,» he finished the sentence: «JUANSFLYINGBURRITO!»

I am upgrading Patrick’s and I’ll tell you why. One of my favorite customers is a bona fide Cajun and he explained to me that there is red jambalaya and white jambalaya. Turns out, Patrick’s serves the red kind and I just so happen to like the white variety better. With that… I feel I should not have knocked off the star because I didn’t like the jambalaya. My problem, not theirs. I’ll go back but order something different.

I’ve never really had Cajun food but I’ve read enough about étouffée that I knew I wanted to try it. I went to Patrick’s for lunch and got a half crawfish po’boy and a side of étouffée. It was good food. The sandwich was pretty massive for a half(almost 9 in long and 4 in thick). The étouffée was hot and delicious and full of crawfish tails. I spent $ 16 for that and a soda but it was worth it. Looking at the dinner menu, this would be a fun place for a casual date night. The dining area is either outside under trees and strings of lights or inside the sun porch. I went at 11:20 and it was empty when I showed up. More people kept arriving to stay or grab take-out. This is definitely worth a try and they looked like that had a decent bar for those nighttime visits.
