The sunset ride was wonderful! My horse, Tequila, was trying to test me by grabbing snacks every few minutes, but our guide helped us out. Great experience with a gorgeous view! The pace is nice and slow, but you get to go through a creek, up a mountain, and down the other side. Great for new riders like myself!

We took the sunset ride and could not have been more pleased with the experience. Our guide was well-versed and competent, and the price was fantastic. Do yourself a favor and head down to the stables for a sunset ride, particularly in the summer, when the air is starting to cool, and the views are jaw-dropping.

My wife and I are in our mid 20’s. We have no riding experience we booked the ¾ day waterfall ride. It ended up being only us two which was great. Compared to the other places near our campsite in canon city this seemed to be the only one with adventure. And it was. The two hour ride out the waterfall was great. The views were incredible and the horses were great. The only negative for me was that it wasn’t a loop trail. So after having a lunch at the waterfall we took the same trail back. The views were still great and the amount of riding time was perfect for us. Our guide was a bit new at it but she handled the horses great and was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone staying within a two hour radius. The drive from canon city was beautiful along the river and on the way back we took a different route which made the entire day great.

This place is a treat. We were running behind and called the stables. They said no problem. Once we arrived they hooked us up with a wrangler named Rocky. We hit the 2 hour ride which was a perfect amount of time. The ride went up into the mountains and the scenery was gorgeous. Rocky was and very knowledgeable with the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend him as a guide. The people running the stables were awesome and I would recommend this to anyone thinking about taking a fun horseback riding adventure. Thanks guys. Good times.

went on two hour trip and had a great time, clay was our guide. full of information and very much a COWBOY! horses were great, views were beautiful, crossed a river that had risen due to a night of heavy rain so that was a bit scary but the horses knew the area, knew what to do and didn’t hesitate. enjoyed every minute of the ride, very peaceful and reasonably priced. after our ride we headed up to mt. princeton resort to hang in the hot spring pools. definitely worth it after the ride! go check them out and enjoy the views!

What a fabulous place. They offer a ¾ day ride in the San Isabel National Forest up to a huge waterfall. This is a very large operation but they take care of things very well. The horses are very well trained and know the trail routine well. Wranglers, wow, what a fun group of people. They make the guests feel special and show everyone a good time. Safety on the trail is very important here. The rides are scenic walking trail rides, no dangerous galloping allowed, and helmets are available to anyone who asks. I’ve ridden here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The waterfall ride is my favorite one, but the 2 hour ride by the creek is very good too.

This place was cool. We came to Mt. Princeton, CO(once again, I want to clarify that there is no Mt. UPenn. Anywhere.) for a wedding at the Hot Springs Resort just up the road. While all of our friends were enjoying the spa or white water rafting, my husband and I took our son to the stables just down the road. He’s only 15 months old, so we requested a short pony ride. Our son’s name is Texas. We spent the greater part of our admission telling the proprietors about his rugged and manly lifestyle. He may only be a toddler, but he’s a real cowboy. We all had a good laugh when the pony was led up to our bench with pink stirrups… and its name was Sprinkle. But I digress. The rates were reasonable($ 15 for our half hour) and the people were very accommodating to walk-ins. They had a TON of horses. One thing to note is that the rides will continue in rain or shine. This is important to keep in mind because there were two flash storms(with pretty heavy rain) within the 45 minutes we were there. My advice? Bring a poncho or hooded windbreaker if you’re going out for a long ride.
