never disappointed in the food.

Awesome fish tacos! It was the handmade tortilla that made all that more delicious. It’s not like other places, where they give you little bit of fish and a whole lot of lettuce. It was definitely the opposite!

At least I didn’t get sick. No sign outside just a bar of white lights without a cover. Same state of repair inside with horrible lighting, old tables and random clutter in the kitchen and the bathroom hall. My Carne Asada burrito had four different, large chunks of gristle. Rolled tacos had very little meat. Pollo Asada burrito had old looking, brown chicken (should be whiteish). Even the hot carrots were bad, crunchy and bland. Hot sauce was bland and watery. I’m amazed at the good reviews. Waste of money.

Tacos de Barbacoa! Bomb! Just like mom’s. everything eIse still haven’t had but from those tacos wow. Went in after 9pm great service, sign is gone from the winds but they are still there.

My favorite Mexican place to come eat tacos the tortilla are handmade making the tacos soft and mouth watering. Feels like your eating at home and the owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Really good super steak breakfast burrito. It comes with eggs, cheese, fries and steak. I get it all the time for myself and co-​workers. I have been there a few times for lunch and dinner as well. It’s good, but not as good as breakfast.

This review is for their scrumptious breakfast burrito: a breakfast burrito that is not on the menu, but is simply was the Super Breakfast Burrito with bacon, ham, egg, and cheese but without the fries and added pico de gallo for about $ 6. if I remember correctly.
The burrito was of a good size and came with a good quality buttery warm flour tortilla. The eggs were decently scrambled. I say «decent» because they could of scrambled the white and yellows better. On a good note, they tasted great and were seasoned well. The ham that was intermixed with them was tender and savory. I was very glad I included the pico because it was freshly prepared and tasted great. I would of liked a little more Serrano peppers in it though, but that’s just the way I roll.
They use a grated white cheese and they put a lot of it in the burrito. I’m not sure what brand it was, but I a pretty sure it tasted like Monterrey Jack cheese. I am not complaining because it tasted very good. The red salsa I had from the salsa bar was good. It had a mild hear and good flavor. They lady who made and brought out my burrito was very nice.
I enjoyed a very good cup of house coffee with my meal. It was mild and smooth and only cost $ 1 and some change. The place reminds me of and mom and pop place I would find on a busy commercial street in Mexico with home style cooking with out that fancy flare.

I don’t think this place deserves close to 5 stars. I give two stars because of the customer service. The lady was really nice. but the food isn’t all that great.!! Like I expected. The barbacoa tacos are very dry and have so much fat on the meat it’s pretty gross. The sope I ordered seemed like the meat it had was nothing but fat and they tried to cover it with Cheese. Yes I am a very picky eater and everytime I order anything with meat I look at the meat first and this meat had nothing but fat. Pretty much a waste of money and time to go drive to this place. I will not return here .!

Great food. Great service. The place is always clean and the staff is always friendly. Is mainly operated by the owner who’s a very nice guy, always very nice and with a big smile. If you pick anything and end up not liking it, they can replace it with something else. Favorite dishes are, chicken mole, birria de chivo (goat birria), menudo, and chile relleno. They also have a roll taco special for $ 4 dollars. Can’t get that anywhere else.

By far the best Mexican food EVER, I drive quite a distance just for a carne asada burrito. But totally worth it. This place is different, and it’s amazing. Everything taste fresh, no complaints will be a regular here. The red salsa is to die for, it’s hella spicy!

Quite disappointing I drove some ways to come to this place because I remember it being very delicious I ordered five rolled tacos and 2 carne Asada tacos the rolled tacos were extremely thin and had hardly any meat inside, for second I thought maybe there was no meet at all inside because my first big bite had zero meat. The carne Asada style tacos were just ok. The meet of the taco was a bit Gristly and chopped way to finally. It also had too much fat for my taste. It’s so bad they want to cut corners, and that’s why I won’t be returning. The cashiers nice though

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I wasn’t too impressed. I had the Carne Asada plate but wasn’t anything special. It took a while to prepare and I was starving so I should have ordered one of the specials, perhaps would have been done much quicker. The horchata and the tortillas were very good, service was average.

Gorditas are the best! Tacos and all of the food my family and me have tried at this place is the real flavor of mexican food. Customer service from the cashier at night is not the best, he can do more, but I go to buy gorditas not to be friend with that guy, the rest of the people in the kichen is nice and always happy with latin music singing and making nice environment while they work, seems like a real family. Taste is really good, prices are reasonable and time to wait is good enough, everything is clean and under control. Just, they don’t have garbage bag and clients leave everything on the tables without even a tip, not nice for the employees.

My first time here. It’s super busy, I keep looking at other people’s plates, it all looks so good. I got a carne asada burrito with everything and it’s
fiancé got the adobada burrito and he loved it. We will definitely be coming back.

Best taco shop around the shrimp was better than any I’ve had in San Diego and they have lady’s making fresh tortillas!

Hand made tortillas give this place the advantage over lots of other taco shops around here. I ordered the Pollo Asado, Barbacoa and Carne Asada tacos. This place never disappoints. The salsas are pretty good too.

He probado casi de todo, me gusta el lugar, lo que me gusta el menudo pero mi favorita comida que hacen son las gorditas, son muy ricas y tienen mucha variedad: asada, tripa, chicharrón, carnitas, etc. La asada fries, ha mejorado grasias! Del trato no tengo que decir. Siempre pido para llevar, y estoy contento con eso., lo recomiendo

My first California Burrito… and Im in love. Now im back in NY losing my mind, because i cant find nothing close to it. Thanks California for opening my eyes to some good mex food!

Fui hace meses con mi abuelita, entramos y miramos a 2 trabajadores sentados, el lugar estaba vacio, no nos dieron la bienvenida ni saludaron, solo nos miraban… esperamos paradas como 6 minutos y ellos seguían sentados platicando, hasta que por fin salio un muchacho de no se donde y nos dijo que si estábamos listas para ordenar sin un gesto de amabilidad, pedimos birria si no mal recuerdo, estaba buena las tortillas eran hechas a mano una estrella a su favor, pero con esa atención no creo volver a ir.

Best Mexican food in National City. Love their California burrito, quesadillas, and carne asada chips! You can really taste the freshness of the tortillas which they make themselves.

I got a mulita and 2 tacos. The mulita was drenched and floating in a puddle of oil but with the help of about 10 napkins, that shit was scrumptious! Hahaa. The tacos are good too but not as good as the mulita!

i never get tired of this place… there is always something that i want to try. It’s across the street from tacos el gordo and i’m not even tempted to go there (i love tacos el gordo)…but this is just so much better.
although i generally prefer to stay and eat here… i only have a 30 minute lunch…
i have it down that if i order my food as i’m walking to my car… it is ready for me to pay/​pickup when i walk in the door at the restaurant…
i hurry back to work and usually have 10 minutes to still eat! ok… i eat a little bit and save the rest for my next break.
