This place is really cute and quaint; I’ve been here several times and have enjoyed it every time. There are a bunch of women(with one chef) who are just running around and doing it all right behind a counter with the kitchen wide open; it;s different, but cool. It can get really crowded(usually between 9:30−12PM, closing time) the wait can sometimes be a little lengthy. But I give a 5 stars because you can call ahead and pick-up or you can relax on a Saturday and enjoy your company and have a nice breakfast. Their omelettes are some of my favorite, and their potatoes are really good too, a must-have for me to return. Yum!

The food is excellent, the service is friendly and the establishment is clean. There’s a comfort as if you were home when you’re having breakfast or lunch there. My wife and I have always enjoyed going there.

The BEST place for breakfast!!! Try the western omelette with american cheese… they sauté the peppers(green and red!!) so the flavor is incredible! Great service too – we didn’t realize they close at noon on Saturdays and we strolled in but they made us a fantastic breakfast anyways! Give this Naugy gem a try!

I found the food lacking on every imaginable level especially passion. The owner cook seems to have lost it. Soda machine spout was filthy. Soup was awful. Could not eat it. Not run correctly because it could be a highly successful, I said highly, business.

I used to work in the area and few coworkers would order from here for lunch. Everyone raved about the hot pastrami sandwich. So I gave it a shot … and it was AMAZING! The pastrami was loaded on rye bread with cooked onions, Swiss, and mustard. Simple and satisfying! It’s a little greasy but what good sandwich isn’t?! I love their cole slaw too. Even though I no longer work in that area I still drive to that town every now and then just for the sandwich.

A cute small diner with a good amount of parking spaces. Inside it’s a little loud and crowded, but that’s what I expect out of a diner. The waitress was extremely friendly, however, it took 40+ minutes to get our food. Not sure if this was a 1 time thing, so I plan on giving it another chance because the food was delicious and well priced!

Good food for a diner. Too bad they don’t care about their customers. I used to work for a certain town municipality and on one occasion while working we were extra busy, so, I prepaid for my meal. Ended up having to go out and take care of a few things, when we came back they had our food waiting on the counter and proceeded to throw it away in front of us telling us it was«probably bad by now». They offered us a cup of coffee as a consolation. These people aren’t team players.

It’s close by and the food is good. Covers all the basics but tops it off with very friendly service. Nice in town neighborhood place with quite a following.

First time here, place was moderately busy for 8am on a Sunday. So no problem getting a booth, but was unsure how the food was going to be(because when you hear the sounds of a microwave dinging, you have to wonder). But everything turned out to be good & tasty. We both had omelets — mine, mushroom & cheese, my fiancée’s was bacon, tomato & cheese. For 20 bucks, a decent breakfast.

Food and ambiance are excellent, and you can get in and out within an hour. That being said, the wait staff can be a bit curt. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Quaint breakfast spot, very townie. I ordered an eggwhite omelet(which costs an extra $ 1) with cheese and mushrooms. It came with homefries and choice of toast. The homefries were too crispy for my boyfriend but I enjoyed them. They are real potatoes. The coffee is bottomless but a woman in her 40’s working the grill was audibly angry when we told our server we wanted more coffee and then proceeded to only have 2 more cups… She was irked since it was the end of their shift and they brewed a whole pot for us(we were the last people in the place.) Our servers were embarassed that she was yelling at us, but we good humoredly stayed later and drank more and took 2 cups to go. My bf had chocolate chip pancakes and we were disapointed that the chips had a slightly burnt quality to them. They should have sprinked them on the top and not flipped them. We will be back to try the corned beef hash in the future and see what colorful characters are working. FYI: THEYONLYTAKECASH or CHECK

I love Coddington’s. They’re only about ¼ mile from my house and they are a normal weekend visit for my girlfriend and I. The owner is on the grill and always very friendly, as is the rest of the staff. We usually call ahead and then take it home as the interior is pretty small and they tend to get packed, so going home is just easier, but the food is good and you get decent sized portions. Try the cornbeef hash, it’s WONDERFUL!

Wonderfully cute little local place that has limited hours. Their breakfast always delivers and they are very friendly. It’s the type of place where people fill their own coffee cups. Definately worth stopping by when in Naug.

Ahhhh Coddingtons on Meadow… such a nice discovery. My boyfriend lives in Naugatuck, and has driven past this place almost every day for the past 5 years or so. But he never went there until I came around, about a year ago. I have only been here for breakfast, and I am a HUGE fan of their ham, egg and cheese on a hard roll. We often call for takeout. They put the ham and the rolls on the griddle, so everything is crispy and hot and melty… Yummy! They also have really good corned beef hash. A great place to go for a weekend breakfast.

Naugatuck is a land of wonder and mystery: something about Naugatuck says Americana(the part of Naugatuck without the heroin and meth problems). Coddington’s represents that whimsical and wonderful quality. Coddington’s is a luncheonette on Meadow Street in this sleepy town, directly across from the green. A few years ago, I had the good fortune of living nearby, and it was a Sunday tradition to cross the street to visit this place. It is small, with only a smattering of tables and some stools surrounding an open fully-visable kitchen. Watching the cooks is refreshing, though you will probably gather, as I did, that this business buys most of their supplies from the local Costco. The service is friendly and quick, the pancakes are huge, and the coffee is strong and bottomless. I can’t recommend more than the Omelets, pancakes, egg platters and potatoes, because that is all I ever had. But if you live in the area and want an enjoyable Sunday breakfast, stop by. While you are there, look across the street where wiffle ball history was made all those years ago when I called Naugatuck home.
