Makong Thai Restaurant

I order the chicken panang for lunch and a heavy white sauce with 3 pieces of chicken came. The total was 10 dollars for a plate I didn’t eat. I told the server that there was next to no chicken and that pad thai is not a white sauce she looked at me and said ok… turned around and left.

Such great Thai. Love the Thai beef salad. My husband gets Thai HOT and it is hot! Always very clean. Good to call ahead as it does take a little wait in house. We probably eat here every other week! Best Thai in Navarre!

the Papaya salad is good. I haven’t found a place that makes my mouth water at the thought of it, but I would probably come back for their papaya salad.
Their pad thai, was DRY… i don’t know if it was because i picked it then had it at home, I would probably give it another chance, to try it there… and maybe to let them know to add more sauce.
i would say this place is pretty pricey, I got chicken pad thai and papaya salad, and my total came out to $ 19.05, not worth the portion i received … pictures to follow.
The waitress, is A DOLL super sweet and nice. GREATTTT customer service skills… and their take out, was only 15 min wait from the time i ordered.

Just OK Pad Thai. Basil Chicken was funky, and not a good funky, actually scratch the funky, it was awful. Too bad, it’s really close to me home. The waiter asked how it was, we politely told Jim the PT was not bad and that the Basil Chicken wasn’t. He never reacted. Hey buddy, why did you even ask me?

Pad Thai was very good, basil chicken was horrible. Service was below average. When the waiter asked us how it was, we explained that the meal wasn’t very good and he didn’t offer to exchange it for something else? Not sure why he bothered to ask if he’s not gonna do anything about? We even had to pay for the crappy meal that we didn’t eat! Do not recommend and will not go back. Also, we were the Only customers in the restaurant, should’ve been a hint I guess.

We went early around 5:30 on Friday to the Makong. Our drink orders were taken promptly and delivered– then we waited and waited and waited. Other people were asking where was their food, and people coming to pick up take out were told to come back. Over ONE HOUR later we got our dinner. The salad and spring rolls weren’t even served until then! The food was fine, but NOT worth waiting for. Supposedly there is one cook– the owner, and one stove. That will not work for a restaurant. Too bad, because it was clean and the food was good. At least we should have gotten a free beer or spring roll! If you order takeout, make sure it is an hour and a half before you want to eat, and I can’t recommend the sit down restaurant until things change.
