Jakes gun shop is «mom and pop» times 100. I’m glad to live near by. «jake«is not his name but that’s what people call him. I get the impression that he enjoys doing what he does. It’s a very small shop. Jake seems to be an old school type of guy. He has one of the best FFL transfer fees around. I’ve sent at least 5 guns to his shop. This is a place that you may find that item you are looking for. He’s located near the end of a residential block. It’s very easy to miss. Don’t expect the traditional customer service of a chain store. It’s slow pace, serious, and friendly all in one. From time to time there will be someone(likely a retired friend) sitting in the corner. Jake likes to throw out a jokes from time to time. If I don’t get him on the phone, I don’t bother leaving a message anymore. I just show up when I know he’s there. He does take credit cards. Recently I found out that he will hold an item until you finish paying for it. I guess it’s called layaway. It’s a 5 star place in my opinion. I gave it 4 stars since most people may not be used to «mom and pop» x 100.

I am reviewing this for what it is, and it is NOT a first class gun store — it is a small business adjacent to Jake’s house — and it’s hard to find. Jake is nice enough though, and I accept his skepticism when three gentlemen come in and basically wants to buy all his ammo. He sold us almost all he had, and we exchanged a lot of pleasantries since he doesn’t take any kind of futuristic cyber currency, only good’olé hard cash. My take home is this — if you can, give this old cat some business.
