Food is delicious and made to order. The atmosphere is cozy and feels like you really are at Tia’s house. My favorite coffee is the Galao and its always great! The staff was also very friendly and attentive.

My family and I brought my dad out for his birthday here because he saw it on the Phantom Gourmet and it looked so good that he wanted to try it.(We are 100% Portuguese, by the way so we KNOW good Portuguese cuisine.) We were SO disappointed in the food! The rice was overcooked, the ‘homemade gravy’ on their steak plate was obviously from a can, our appetizer was burnt, and we were rushed through our meal. I 100% do NOT recommend this place & I have NO idea why it was featured on the Phantom Gourmet.

I took my son here for breakfast on his 3rd birthday(a Wednesday). First let me start out by saying that overall, I thought the food was cooked well and tasty. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, although parking can sometimes be tough. This was our second time here however I did not thoroughly enjoy the first visit due to my toddler/naptime. It was about as busy both times, about half the small restaurant full. Tables are tight in the bigger part of the room along the wall, room for 2 at most of each of those tables however space between the tables is tight, walking by you are touching the next small table which is a little tight even for a slender person. Our waitress Becky was friendly with myself my son and pleasant, although a little slow. However we were not in a rush at all. I ordered an apple juice and a bagel and cream cheese for my son and I got the Breakfast for Manny with coffee; 2 eggs over easy, home fries, toast, and a chorizo link. A young man came around shortly after refilling coffee; however I only saw this happen once during my visit and I could’ve used a warm up later during the meal. I ate less than half the home fries, almost all my eggs and one piece of toast and noticed a hair in my plate sticking out from under the side of my home fries. It was disheveled when I mixed ketchup in but it was almost implanted into a potato wedge. I set it aside on a napkin and I was done. To be honest I didn’t do a forensics exam on it but it closely resembled a beard hair. When Becky returned and I showed her, she picked it up off the napkin and examined it and embarrassingly said, «What the heck is that?» and walked away with my plate, brushing the hair off her hand. A few minutes passed and she returned with my bill and smiled and stated she gave me 20% off my bill for my inconvenience. Um, what? You offer me 20% off of my total bill(which ultimately turned out to be $ 12.20) for a $ 7.50 plate of food that I found a hair in??? 20% ended up being less than $ 3.00! My plate was $ 7.50 not to mention I did not even eat HALF of the plate! At a table of 5 or 6 people, 20% may have been the equivalent of a plate of food, but not on a $ 15.00 bill! Needless to say, I tipped more than 20% like always because it wasn’t the waitress’ fault, however I will not be returning for a 3rd visit. This was listed as one of the top breakfast/brunch places in the area, which doesn’t say a lot considering the competition, and the food would be wonderful if the service and customer satisfaction was up to par. I understand this sort of thing happens, but don’t be so cheap! You just lost a customer over about $ 5.00!

The server was very personable and sweet! The only strike — she failed to tell me the bolo rolls would come with an extra $ 1 charge! Omelettes come with a side of toast/bread and she ticked off the options and bolo was one of the ones she listed. The bolo itself was fantastic — very subtly sweet with a satisfying carby texture, so I’m happy with the recommendation. Iced latte was weird — it had a strange aftertaste, which I should have said something about but didn’t. I took a lot of sips trying to figure out what the strange aftertaste was and wondered if it was just very weirdly burnt but concluded it had an onion aftertaste, which my friend agreed with. His coffee was very burnt, but tasted fine after lots of sugar was added. Spanish omelette and home fries were palatable. The chorizo tastes pretty good but the omelette itself was underseasoned. During the parts of the omelette where there were large amounts of finely diced chorizo, the flavor really came through(but when the concentration of chorizo was low, the dish was a bit bland — they probably should have used red pepper instead of green to give it more flavor since they didn’t season the dish very much — I don’t think any small amount of salt was added because the veggies were tasteless — they were overcooked). This place came highly recommended for dinner so I may be back next time I’m in this town to check that out. The ambience is quaint and adorable! Clean, airy, cozy. There’s a take out counter and dine in area. Despite the funky latte, the service was overall attentive and friendly, ambience was adorable, and the chorizo in my omelette saved my meal. The home fries were greasy but not too bad — standard. Decent food, not too hot about the drinks.

Super tasty food today but abysmal waitress service today. she was sweet at could be but could not get the order right from start to finish AND we waited 50 minutes for our order despite folks around us having arrived later, being served quickly. Such a stressful frustrating dining experience today… too many errors to document here. alas, we have faith and will go back. She nicely comped our beverages and a sweet treat which was much appreciated…

Highly dissapointed with this place!!! Waitress couldn’t crack a smile and seemed to be bothered to do her job… not to mention homefries were undercooked, order wasn’t correct, and staff had to be asked multiple times to get things that were asked for. All this place needed was staff that actually cared about their customers and this place wouldn’t be half bad.
