These dry cleaners are more expensive than others as other reviewers have noted and can take a bit longer, but-at least for business shirts-the quality is excellent. I first tried Executive Cleaners; they are much cheaper but continually broke shirt buttons and didn’t consistently repair them, even when I’d noted this e.g. 3 times(they eventually did in all cases though). They were also often ironed but not that well and crumpled easily afterwards. In one instance a shirt also came back with new marks on it. With JJ the shirts are always crisper than they were at Executive and buttons etc. and so far(about 4 weeks worth of shirts) are never broken. We haven’t tried alterations there yet. As noted, it is more expensive(i.e., maybe 30% more) but if you’re after having things done properly it is worth it.

I use this cleaners often because I live in the neighborhood. They are nice people and very professional. However, prices are fairly high and usually I wait at least five days to get my clothing returned. Their hours also start at 7:30 am which is a bit too late to drop off things if I have to be at work on time. In spite of the inconveniences, it is a nice place and I am consistently pleased with the quality of the work.

I brought a pair of pants here a few weeks ago for alterations. When I came to pick them up on the day I was told they’d be ready, a Wednesday(also the day that was printed on my ticket), the woman denied that they said the pants would be ready on this day and told me that they wouldn’t be ready until Monday. When I asked if I could just have the unaltered pants back so I could take them somewhere else(I needed them because I was going on vacation), she said that I couldn’t have them because the pants were at another location in Milford. When I finally did pick up the pants the following Monday, the alterations were terrible. The pants fit even worse than they did before, and now I’ll have to spend more money to take them somewhere else to be fixed. I’ve had thing dry-cleaned here in the past, too. While the cleaning itself is fine, it takes forever and is extremely overpriced. They charge something like $ 6 for a sweater, which seems ridiculous. I don’t recommend this place, and I won’t be coming back.

I think its a good idea to avoid this place. I used to go here because it was close but they recently ruined two new jumpers. I picked one up to find a hole it in and another the sleeve unraveled. As others have pointed out they are also very slow, typically requesting a 4 or 5 business day turnaround.

They are really helpful and have rushed my order for my last-minute schedule changes. Always friendly. A little on the expensive side, but that’s not surprising given the lack of dry cleaners in East Rock. Highly recommended!

This is the most expensive and slowest dry cleaner I have ever encountered. I was willing to tolerate it because of the great location but was very disappointed when they recently charged me $ 6.25 for spot treatment of a shirt, but couldn’t lift the spot. They gave it another try for free, but no luck(and no refund). At these prices, I expect better service.

I needed three dress shirts and a blazer cleaned for a wedding I was attending. Old reviews posted online had me a little worried that it could be too pricey or my clothes might get damaged, but considering this is New Haven I have few alternative options. This mom-and-pop shop is simply arranged and the owners were very polite. When I picked up my items 5 days later they were in excellent condition and very clean. The blazer I took in is velvet and they treated it very well. All said and done the 4 items cost $ 15, which I consider a deal. I’ll certainly return! One star off for having odd business hours.

This seemed like a pretty run of the mill dry-cleaner. But recently, when I brought a few things to be dry cleaned, I asked that they fix a hole in one of my blouses. The woman told me it wouldn’t be a problem, but when I picked it up, it just had a huge safety pin over the hole. I brought it back, and it took an extra several days to get it actually fixed. With prices higher than the ‘green’ dry cleaner I used to go to back home, I’m definitely not going back.
