Talk about a hole in the wall. This place isn’t easy to find, but it’s worth searching out if you need transmission work. I brought my son’s car there because the transmission just wasn’t shifting correctly. A Ford Dealer in New Milford that I took the car to before Quality Transmission, wanted to charge me $ 3000 for a rebuilt transmission. I decided I wanted a second opinion. I brought the car in to Quality Transmission and they had the car for a couple of days. They test drove the car, verified the bad shifting, opened up the transmission and pronounced it healthy. They suspected a faulty cable and recommended my taking it to a dealership in Litchfield that had the proper diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting the error. Sure enough it was a bad wiring harness. When I asked the owner of Quality Transmission what his fees were, he told me that there were none, as he hadn’t done anything. I argued that he spent several days troubleshooting and diagnosing and that his time was worth payment. He told me that I owed nothing and just to remember him next time I needed work done on my other cars. You don’t find that kind of integrity around much anymore. With the help of the guys at Quality and the Ford dealer in Litchfield, replacing the harness was less than $ 100 and the car has been fine since.
