Talk about an experience! I truly enjoyed the entertainment, that for me substituted for missing church. The customer service was exceptional, the entertainment was off the hook, and the food was delicious. I would truly recommend the gospel brunch here to anyone planning to visit the New Orleans area. Plus, it’s located right in the heart of the French Quarter.

This is a must when visiting. Evangelist Linda and her band were fantastic. The food was pretty awesome as well. Except they ran out of waffles for the chicken and waffles. The eggs were ok, but the grits were on point. Also had bacon, sausage, jambalaya, mac and cheese, a few salads, a omelet station… and so much more… did i mention the bottomless mimosas. Nuff said

Friday night crawfish boil is the place to be! $ 10 for 2 lbs, drink specials and live music! Seasoned to perfection with a kick! It was a rainy day so they put up a tent to make the patio enjoyable!

The House of Blues is a great small venue — the acoustics at the main stage are excellent, and no matter where you go, you can see the stage pretty well. The Parish Room is intimate and has great sound. Customer service is really excellent — the servers and bartenders are attentive and efficient. My only complaint is that the place gets so cold — it’s like an icebox! I thought I’d get hypothermia during Piano Night 2016 even though I had a sweater!

Ate lunch. Server was very friendly as was the rest of the staff. Didn’t see a show but loved being in there. Awesome venue food was good.

This review is for the gospel brunch only. Atmosphere: fun, lively snd pretty atmosphere. BUT they had WAY too many chairs squeezed into our table. I could not comfortably eat and my friend’s seat was where two tables met and her plate wouldn’t even sit properly on the table. C– Food: the food was not good. Everything was room temperature. Tons of carbs. Not enough meat choices. The only meats were pork loin, baked chicken, and chicken tenders. All were dry and bot hot. Others there said that on other visits, there was boiled shrimp, oysters, and fried chicken. Not this time. The buffet was on par with Golden Corral or Ryan’s. D– Drinks: unlimited mimosas! When we first got there, they were Dow to fill our glasses, but once the show got going, they kept them coming. Service: pretty slow. When I was ready for more food, I picked up my own dirty plate and brought it to the bus bin. C– Music: the show, music and performers were fantastic. A Value: because the food wasn’t good, that makes this a poor value at $ 50 per ticket for an hour and a half show. D

Awful sound quality, but we should have known better after a very disappointing show a number of years ago at a Hard Rock Hotel. HOB was spawned from the same corporate-themed cesspool. We went recently to see some of NOLA’s favorite sons, the Subdudes, and we would have liked to have heard them. But instead we heard pretty much bass and percussion banging around a building with the acoustics of a high school gym built in the 40s. At one point I walked down a hall and sat on a bench in front of the men’s room. The sound quality improved considerably. Then I went into the bathroom and closed the door — better still. Hey, HOB — WTF? Even though the the drinks were weak I’m giving this dump a two-star rating rather than one for a couple of reasons; 1) The outsider-style art is very entertaining 2) The intimacy. The end of the evening was interesting. The Subdudes left the stage and came to the center of the floor with acoustic instruments for three encores performed in front of a crowd close enough to touch. It was extraordinary, and the sound was markedly better. HOB staffers took advantage of the time to clear-off the stage and close the curtain, and when the show was over at about midnight we(a bunch of middle-aged folks) were rushed outside so a hip-hop show could follow. Cha-ching!

April is my new favorite waitress in New Orleans! She’s funny, sharp as hell, beautiful, and super efficient. She turned us onto the new drink menu and everything was awesome! She will take your dinner from good to great. Don’t piss her off ;) But really, we loved her and will be back again, solely for the fun she brought to our day.

It took forever to get the host to come and even acknowledge us. The food was good, venue good, but I dislike chains. I especially dislike being ignored. Chain, corporate hell.

I cannot say enough about the staff at the House of Blues. We held our wedding here on April 2nd and my friends and family have not stopped raving. I can honestly say everything went PERFECTLY. The Venue We had the ceremony in the Voodoo Garden, followed by a Second Line around that side of the Quarter, and then a reception in the Parish. The tent in the Voodoo Garden stays up year-round, which honestly was a relief; knowing that we had a built-in rain plan. In the Spring and Summer it’s a clear tent, so we still very much felt outside. They drape the tent to cover the poles, if those bother you. The atmosphere in there was so perfect. It’s a quintessential New Orleans courtyard and was exactly what I was looking for. The Parish is the smaller of their two indoor venues and holds up to 250 people. We had around 90 in there with tables and chairs and it was great. We still had plenty of room to dance. If you are looking for something«bridal» this probably isn’t the place. It’s funky and wooden and vintage. It was exactly the look we were going for and as a bonus, you don’t have to buy or rent a bunch of furniture or decorations to fill it! The Food Holy cow! The food was excellent. When you have guests traveling from all over, some of whom have never been to New Orleans, you want to treat them to a meal indicative of the city, and I feel like we had the perfect New Orleans meal. Raw Oysters, Crab Cakes, Shrimp and Andouille on Grit Cakes, Crawfish Monica, and Baked Fish were all standouts. Their catering menu is extensive and they are completely patient and willing to work with you to make it work within your budget. The Staff Kari, Britt, and Kelly were all amazing throughout the entire process. From our first tour I felt confident and knew they would be able to help me, an out-of-town bride who couldn’t just drop in any time, to plan and execute the whole thing. Honestly, I have no idea how I would have been able to do it if we picked one of the other four places we looked at. They really do take care of EVERYTHING here. They even helped with things that we outside my contract with them like choosing a brass band and dj. Britt and Kelly were a calming force for me day-of. I never felt stressed or hurried. The Value When we were first touring venues, HOB was at the absolute top of our price point. When we took a look at what’s included compared to other venues it was no contest. The higher price point was more than worth the peace of mind of knowing that they take care of everything from tables and linens to the food and bar and coordinating deliveries from vendors. It was seriously the difference between having to hire a coordinator and not. Again, I can’t rave enough about our experience. It was seriously the best day ever and I’m forever grateful to the team at HOB for making it happen!

I LOVE seeing a show here! It’s so intimate and just such a cool setting. I try and get VIP whenever I can, and Mandy is the bomb as a VIP host! Go eat somewhere else and come here for a show, whether it’s a concert or a burlesque show(Bustout Burlesque is great!)

I’m a fan of the HOB for its intimate setting. I’d take this over being at a concert in an arena type setting anyday. I’ve caught several concerts here over the last few years. Most of the time the concerts are standing room only which really doesn’t bother me too much. I mean if you’re coming to sit down the entire time… what are you even at a concert for? As for the drinks… they are pretty pricey. I’ve also had an early dinner here a time or two… but its nothing memorable to rave or write about.

I went to see City and Colour, while I’m usually a fan of this venue I need to comment on the way I was handled at the door. I appreciate a safe facility but the search procedure I encountered here was extreme and extremely uncomfortable. It felt like a police search and the door woman knew every inch of my breasts by the end of it. The woman in line behind me also commented on the invasive nature of the search. I do not know if this is company policy or just a rogue door woman but I was so triggered by this search I was nearly in tears. It was very difficult to enjoy the show and I was terrified to step outside and get a breath of fresh air and calm down for fear of encountering the same type of search on my way back in. I do not consider sexual harassment/assault part of a normal concert-going experience. Very disappointed, House of Blues.

Stopped in for drinks and to catch some live music. There was a duo playing of course, the blues. It was a nice way to wind down after a full day of sightseeing. Drinks were weak but I didn’t expect anything else.

I ordered the island turkey burger. It was on the small side but very tasty. The Mac and cheese size was delicious. The Caesar salad was on the dry side. When the extra dressing was added it was better. The shrimp and grits is weird. The grits are in a patty(like a crab cake). It was ok. The Cajun chicken pasta was good. The chocolate cheesecake was awesome and huge. The crust was hard to brake so a fork would have been better to eat it with. The kitchen was timely. The waiter(Chris) was very personable. The music was good when they were playing.

What a perfect place for an event! Kari and Beth Ann were without a doubt top notch in planning, providing excellent service and making sure the event went smoothly from beginning to end. The food was terrific, the space is funky and awesome and the personalization add-ons are unique! Kari allowed us to sneak away to the Foundation for bride and groom formals before making our grand entrance at the Parish. Such a great spot for photos! I cannot say enough good things about House of Blues! Our guests were wowed and we were completely satisfied. I would recommend again and again. I couldn’t imagine a place that would have been more magnificent!

When I’m NOLA this place is a must, they have so much to offer everyday. It’s so colorful and every one of the staff were very cool ! The food menu isn’t that extensive, a few things I see on there were the flowing: pulled pork sliders, nachos, gumbo, tacos. Although I didn’t eat there I did have a drink, they have 6 brews on draft, I had 1 miller light I believe it was only $ 4.50 pretty normal price. They have a very cool & funky décor so be sure to snap a couple pics they come out great because it’s so colorful The big open patio area is a perfect place to have a drink or bite to eat, the 3 times I’ve been there they’ve had live music, oh yeah and I seen a man making vampire teeth for someone and swearing him into the brotherhood hahaha idk what was going on but it certainly was interesting. The voodoo bar on the patio is pretty elaborate as is the bar up stairs. Apparently they have a vampire ball every Halloween very cool I’ve been once and it was definitely an experience

I’ve been to the house of blues in other cities and had expectations that simply were not meet here in New Orleans. The burgers were tough, fries cold and the lobster mac and cheese was tasteless. One bright spot in our party was the meatloaf which got an OK and the garlic mash potatoes that got a thumbs up. The manger Leon came by the table we expressed our displeasure with the meal and he apologized but made zero accommodation which was very disappointing. There are so many choices in downtown New Orleans my suggestion is go someplace else

I truly enjoyed my dish of portobello sliders. My sister in law is also a vegetarian but on a pasta kick, and therefore ordered a dish with pesto and pasta. I’m a bit more of an eclectic vegan, longtime vegetarian, with a taste for something unique or recreated. My portobello sliders were scrumptious, and smoked beautifully. I loved that they were served in bite size app form, as I despise shiitake burgers, too large and they grow or come undone as the bun shrinks. These portobello sliders have a richness to them, almost fire smoked, and served on tiny brioche buns as well. I was jealous of my sisters pesto pasta dish. I thought my sliders would have fries, so I ordered the dish I did. I’ll check before I order in the future at any restaurant. Her pasta dish had sundried tomatoes in it. I ended up tasting her dish, and would have ordered it if I came back for dinner. Our dishes were delightful. My boyfriend is a chef, and enjoyed his burger. However his classic burger is under the average weight for a large burger and served on a brioche bun. He was expecting a ½ pound burger. However he is a picky eater. I loved my blackberry jazz drink. Moonshine and sparkling wine? I would come back for happy hour. Be still this CA girls heart! I love moonshine. Bartender was good. Server was good too. Ambience was lovely and voodoo home. I would come back as I love what house of blues stands for. They also donate. Help kids stay in school.

On est arrivé dans ce restaurant par hasard, plutôt une bonne surprise pour le cadre, la serveuse était adorable. Le mojito très très léger par contre le Huricane extrêmement chargé. Les prix sont un peut élevé mais rien de choquant
