Jazz Café

OK, I’m giving 5 stars because Selena was awesome and took such good care of us! My friend and I flew in from Baltimore for Christmas, and got in very late. We were starving, and this was the first place we came to that was still open on Dec 23 at almost midnight. Selena was behind the counter cooking, and didn’t bat an eye when we asked if she was still open and serving food. We got a shrimp po-​boy to share and a couple of beers… and joyfully watched as she hand breaded the shrimp. No frozen junk here! The sandwich and the fries were amazing, the beer was cold, and Selena was a gem. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.

First trip to New Orleans. Wandered in here looking for my first Hurricane. Great quick buzz juice, and quite tasty. Wife said that I needed to eat… Wonder why? We ordered the Crawfish Étouffée. Wow! Flavor and amount of crawfish included were on point with all of my expectations. We will go back before we leave! Nothing fancy, just great food and drinks!

Food no well prepared — eggs burnt on the edges, well done (no as I ordered) and very grease. Bad service, live music too loud for 11 am on a Sunday. My review is got one star just because of one of the staff members presumably the owner was very nice to usable welcoming.

Great breakfast! Super cheap, good food and comes with complimentary coffee. We were staying in a condo across the street. This was a great place to meet up and grab a drink or a bite before heading into the mayhem of bourbon. Very friendly staff.

Horrible service, bar tender tries but rest of the staff fails. Nine bucks for four chicken strip that McDonalds has for a dollar. Try the arbry’s down the street you would be less disappointed.

Not that I really stayed there for long because I kind of just ordered the funnel fries to go with an orange juice but wow. I felt my soul leave my body the moment I tasted those deep fried perfections. And according to my cousin the orange juice was bomb af so there’s that. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend.

While I’ve only had drinks here, the Jazz Café is a very cozy and relaxed place to hang out. The bartenders are extremely friendly, and personable and will know you by name by the time you leave. I highly recommend this establishment, and I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in NOLA.

We wandered into this place and were very surprised! The gumbo and jambalaya were very good. the bbq shrimp should be renamed rosemary shrimp and are 5 out of 5!!! Green tomatoes and deep fried pickles are also awesome. service was also good… small place, worth the wait… strongly recommend.

So excited to be the first reviewer of this place! My coworker and I ordered delivery, and it may have been opening day but I’m
not sure. KUDOS to the attention they gave to our food, their service, and our delivery. I will definitely order from them again… Plus hopefully if enough people order, they can afford to get their delivery guy a bike :-)
Between us we all had the breakfast sandwich, side of hash browns, fried green tomatoes, side of grilled vegetables, and some kind of crack-​filled app that really needs to be renamed «beignet fries». All of it was good. Want more? Read on:
The brekky sandwich was very basic, but the biscuit was definitely homemade. The hash browns had no seasoning at all so I added salt– still tasty. They dried out pretty quickly and kudos to whoever put grape jelly in the bag. The fried green tomatoes were decadent and the shrimp on top was cooked to absolute perfection. The grilled veggies were very tasty but I’m pretty sure it was just a stir fry of a bag of frozen vegetables… Could definitely take that up a notch and just pick some seasonal veggies to throw on the grill.
We’re looking forward to trying more of the menu. :)
