Red Zone is a great place on St. Charles that has services to fulfill your vice, whatever it may be. They have a large selection of alcoholic beverages — cold beers, wine, champagne — with a large price range, depending on what you’re looking for. It’s great if you’re on the move, and need to grab some champagne or beer for the function you’re headed to. It’s also along the Mardi Gras parade route, so they got you if you need more imbibements. I think they’re building a bar there too, but that’s just from my observation of the not-so-discreet bar-esque counter they’re building near the entrance. Psst… Keep your fingers and toes crossed! I’ll update this if they do! If occasional tipsy time isn’t your thing, they also have something for the tobacco lovers. As soon as you walk into Red Zone, to your left, you’ll find a walk in humidor full of cigars. They have quite the selection at hand, but if there’s something you’re looking for in particular, they’re willing to take suggestions so they can stock it for you! I’m not a cigar person, but I appreciate this aspect of Red Zone because it means you can get something nice for the cigar puffin muffin in your life. And then there’s the vice of all vice’s, the love of chicken. Yes, Red Zone — carrier of beer, wine, and spirits, also carries some finger-liking food! They have a lot to choose from too, from southern fried chicken to po’ boy sandwiches, Red Zone got’s you!

I love this place! They have a large humidor where they sell fantastic cigars(such as Macanudo). A great liquor selection, a giant craft beer walk in cooler and some of the best Cajun spicy meat pies ever!

Best prices in town on liquor. Additionally, they have KEGS. Which is a big deal because not many places in nola sell kegs, surprisingly. Pick up a meat pie on your way out. SOGOOD!

Came here for the liquor and fell in love with the pies. If you are staying in a nearby hotel this is perfect to pick up some basics, mostly of the liquid variety. They do have some other stuff but this is not really a grocery store. So far I found prices for booze were better here. But then there is the wonderful pies that everyone else is raving about. Yes they are really that good and house-made. I file this under one of those odd stores that you would think would not have good fast food yet the do. Perfect for the tourist that will be eating around the town needs booze and yummy snacks for the hotel room. Did I mention the take out food is very inexpensive? Worth the gamble if you doubt the other Unilocalers. A pie will set you back 2.50, just do it. Fried chicken was ok, not bad but not over the top good. Yet good enough I bought it twice.

After a few missed flights between my girlfriends and I, we all agreed that we desperately needed to stock up on alcohol before heading to our room. A local told us about Red Zone, so we went there with intent on buying alcohol. Anyhow, when we walked in we noticed that they had a fried food section by the registered. They served fried chicken, crawfish empanadas, beef empanadas, and Po Boy sanwiches. Us five girls couldn’t resist and we got some fried chicken and empanadas. One bite of the chicken and my eyes and tastebuds were in shocked out of the bursting, juicy flavor and its crispiness. OHMYGOD! SERIOUSLY??? a chicken wing this good at a liquor store? what the heck kind of place is this??? While I was chewing and savoring my chicken in disbelief, my friends started to rave about how good the crawfish empanadas were. I took a bite of the empanada and oh my god… how can two completely different things be equally as good? They were both so good that I didn’t know which I wanted to take a bite off next. At that point, my girlfriends and I forgot our initial intention of our visit there and we pretty much had dinner standing up, with a chicken wing in our left hands and a bag of empanadas in our right We looked like savages. We ended up buying tsome liquor of course, but not without several orders of the chicken and empanadas. We also came back here right before the airport and each bought a box of chicken and empanadas home. I can’t believe that something this delicious doesn’t have any attention of its own!

Best crawfish empenadas you will every eat in your life. We loved the crawfish pies so much that we almost missed our flight because we had to pick up an order of 20 crawfish to take home hehe

This place has a little bit of a lot of different things and a lot of everything you would need to prepare any alcoholic delights you may want to mix up at your place or hotel. I was particularly grateful for their healthy supply of crackers, cheese and kid-friendly snack foods.

I’m in red zone at least twice a week & that’s probably not a good thing, lol. They carry a variety of bottled waters and red bull in all the sizes to get me through my work day. Additionally, the deli counter is pretty well on point with the fried chicken and such. Their crawfish pies are delicious(spicy in a good way) and I can never seem to keep one of their po-boys to myself(peeps at the office gotta eat, too). You want yours fully dressed, shrimp of course. I have observed some of the best liquor pricing in here as well. The only bad point over here is that the amount of time it takes to check out seems indirectly proportional to the amount of time left on your break. If you’re in a hurry, maybe call first.

Our first night here Nader the owner welcomed us in right at closing 2 am. We had the crawfish pies they were delicious. Yes, again a couple nights later we stopped by and had fresh fried chicken, it was delicious too. Great wine selection also. We are from the San Francisco bay area, wine country, so that says a lot. Finally Nader and his son are great guys who are friendly and welcoming.

Their selection is insane. It’s a convenience store, so yes, the prices are higher. That is what you pay for a convenience store, especially this one that is open every day even on holidays. The people who work here are really nice. I’ve made a few stops, and never had a problem. It’s definitely a lot better than William’s, and I notice some of the prices are comparable to Walgreen’s, that is, of course, without the Walgreen’s discounts. Every time I walk in, they always have what I’m looking for.

I’ve heard this place has been opened for about 5 ½ mos, to the date of this review & no1 has reviewed it… So let me be the 1st. Great location & not just for Mardi Gras, but also for the hotels & eateries located in this area. You can grab a bottle of the bubbly before heading up to your room or grab a six pack after you eat to «keep the party rolling» whatever your pleasure. Inside is a small combo packaged liquor store/deli of sorts. That’s actually a plus & a minus all the same. Great that you can grab a chicken leg before heading out the door, but ewwwww who wants to smell like chicken grease… GROSS!!! And unfortunately, my experience was just that, I grabbed a 12 pack of beer, left with the beer & the stench of old chicken grease in my clothes, ughhhhh. Also during my visit, there was a pricing discrepancy that arose. The price listed on the shelf differed from what they TRIED to charge me; but I caught that little the ‘slip up’; could’ve been an error or not, idk. Good thing I wasn’t drinking, they may have gotten one over on me. And I find their prices are a little higher than they should be but I guess that’s their mark up for being on St. Charles Ave. I’m curious to see how things work out for them this Carnival Season.
