Average. Bloody Mary was okay. Had better in the city. Very relaxing atmosphere with good people watching.

Great food and excellent service. By far the nicest set of staff out of any restaurant we visited during our stay in New Orleans. You could tell they took pride in the food and service. Would came back to NOLA in a heartbeat just to eat at this place.

My husband and I eat here all the time. The service is awesome and the food is great. My favorite is the confit wings, and the gumbo. The only reason why I didn’t give this place a 5 star was because there isn’t a lot of variety on the menu and I didn’t enjoy the cocktails. But the service, food and overall atmosphere is great.

Pleasantly surprised. Slow service at first, but then the gumbo came out. Best I’ve had.

One of the best things about New Orleans is the vast amount of quality restaurant that you can just stumble upon. St. Lawrence wasn’t on my list but as I was just randomly making my way across the city, I walked past, the vibe seemed laid back and the menu looked interesting so I went in. The inside was very cool and laid back, the lights were dim, the brick wall provided a chill atmosphere. Staff was easy going and attentive. The fried chicken is their specialty highlighted by the orange font on the menu compared to the black font of all the other menu items. Chicken was nicely made, outside skin was well seasoned and crispy, inside was moist and tasty as well. Portion size was nice as you get half a chicken which is great for the price. Accompanying mashed potatoes were fluffy and creamy with a well seasoned gravy on top. In a city filled with awesome restaurants, St. Lawrence Restaurant and Bar is near the top of my list of places to give a go.

In a word, lazy. I had the Creole Pulled Pork, my date had the Adult Grilled Cheese, and we shared a Decatur Sundae for desert. Everything was just ok, verging on bad.

This place has really nice and clean bathrooms. Unfortunately I’d had one too many sazeracs before dinner, so I spent most of my time hurling in the bathroom. The staff was really nice about it though. My friends really enjoyed it, and I did get to eat the fried chicken later that night. Lost some of its crunchiness, but I could tell it would have been amazing fresh.

Came here for our last meal in NO. The fried chicken was super. Crunchy outside with a slight Cajun seasoned batter and moist meat. My wife loved the red beans and rice. Easily a pound worth. Collard greens were also good with pieces of Tasso ham. Server raved about the onion rings. But we thought they weren’t crunchy enough. My grandson had the custom burger that was huge. 10 oz. Sangria was very good.

I had the Bayou cheesesteak, I can’t come up with any complaints whatsoever, the fries were excellent, sandwich was excellent, the service was excellent, the kitchen was average speed. The music in the bar is excellent as well. Would definitely recommend.

Came by for lunch with friends and I had the fried chicken SOOOOOGOOOOD! get it with the side of hot sauce the greens perfect the gravy super yummy!!! Friends had Mac and cheese with bacon and that was also super yummy! Drinks are tasty I had the blueberry and basil special drink? Amazing! I liked that even in the French quarter tourist trap this place is a gem in the rough. Great food, great music playing, great drinks, great décor, and great service. Hats off to management you are doing something right! I’m officially coming back to New Orleans and will visit again! Cheers!

Love that this place is open late, they serve food til 2am! Food and drinks were amazing. Cocktails were really good, liked them so much we took one for the road also! Smothered and covered fries were so yummy, chicken and a cheesy gravy sauce over seemed like homemade fries, what could be better?! Had the spicy sweet wings, very good, cheese sauce was okay but the wings had so much flavor you didn’t need it. Friend has the red beans and rice, big portion. I had the gumbo and it was awesome. Came with bread though and wasn’t toasted or anything so that was odd, still ate it though cause I’m definitely a carbaholic. Really cool artwork inside also.

3.5 I left here thinking I would have rather had drinks. This isn’t a slight. I came during a work lunch and getting happy on frozen Pimms Cups isn’t the way to go in to the second half of a work day. But I’d heard so much about them and, I’m guessing, they’re relatively quick to make so both elements would have lent themselves to a good experience. But, alas, I ate here. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t all that memorable. And, as I’ve written before, in a town like New Orleans, you have to serve memorable(hopefully in a good way) food. There’s too much competition to do otherwise. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was the brick walls. The second thing I noticed was the soundtrack. It’s a good thing the walls were attractive and the tunes were bumping because I had ample time to take both in. As is mentioned in other reviews, time management issues in the kitchen is a thing here. Thankfully, before too painful of a wait, the first round of appetizers came out. Even though I hadn’t gone in on the ordering, I made sure to help myself to some food.* The poutine was as good as you might imagine a French Canadian dish to be in a Cajun American city. So, good. The mac & cheese was a bit on the underwhelming side. The elbow mac was coupled with three cheeses but the consistency was more liquid than stretchy. I found it a touch off-putting. Despite my hunger, I didn’t eat more than a bite. So, by the time my lunch made its way to me(I was the last served at the table), I was ready to do some damage. The chicken pesto sandwich was substantial but, ultimately, bland(chicken, pesto, minor greenery). And, dry. And, in the first world, there are few things worse than a hunk of dry chicken… especially if you’re from Kentucky like I am. My side of chips were more of a forget-me-not than anything else. I appreciated the homemade quality but, it’s New Orleans. Gimme some Zapp’s and keep it moving. I think I might have preferred a liquid lunch. *A) It’s how I do. B) I was looking out for all involved. No one wants to see me when hangry.

Too hungry to continue, we stopped here because the specials looked interesting & creative. I ordered the blueberry-basil gimleti, a frozen daiquiri for gin lovers. It was not too sweet and really refreshing on a hot day. The large size immediately and dramatically improved my mood. The buffalo fried oysters had a brilliant sauce that was spicy with intense flavor perfectly cooked by the blue cheese crumbles. We ordered the watermelon feta salad and the«chicken special». Both were amazing! So incredibly fresh and delicious. Clean plates all around. This place is a gem! Wonderful food and our server, Amber, was so friendly and welcoming. You can tell she enjoys her job! When in Nola, go to the St. Lawrence for and amazing meal and say hi to Amber Dawn.

«French Quarter gem with icy cool daiquiris and sophisticated bar fare». Loved my Pimm’s Cup daiquiri. Ummmm, probably my favorite part of the whole experience. I just wish they had more protein-packed items on the menu. I am not really a sandwich fan(for those who know me can attest to that). So, we went with the fried chicken and I was glad that we did because it was fried to crispy perfection. It was a large serving that me and my family of 3 were able to share it. For appetizer/small plate, I highly suggest the crab claws. Those were absolutely to die for! I sucked those claws dry! So, we were full and had just enough food that we were not burstin’ out of the seams. Thankfully enough. This was in close proximity to the«Shops At Canal Place» and the a hop skip from the Insectarium. It was extremely convenient to Mister Apple, so if you’re sweet tooth is tingling for something, you may want to head over there after.

My boyfriend, sister, and I came here last night for drinks and loved it, so we’ve made it our home base for the duration of our NOLA stay. We’ve been to a few of the bars and this is very nice, relaxed, and clean. Benjamin was fabulous! Chatted with us for awhile and made us feel quite at home. We weren’t hungry at all and are on our way to dinner soon, but the kitchen apparently accidentally made an extra special, and he brought it out to us completely free of charge. I have no idea what it was, but some sort of fried chicken on a bun, topped with a poached egg and served with fried potatoes on the side. Totally not what I would have ordered myself, but who can say no to free + delicious NOLA food? :) As far as drinks go, I love the basil blueberry daiquiri and have ordered it twice now. Their Bloody Mary is decent, but I’ve had better in Tahoe, CA. My sister and I also really enjoyed the St. Lawrence. My boyfriend prefers more manly(and alcoholic) drinks, and has tried the Sazerac, Vieux Carre, Last Word, and both IPAs. No complaints from anyone! Thank you St. Lawrence for the fabulous experience and service. We’ll be back soon!

First of all I am a huge fan of NOLA. I have been twice and would love to go again sometime. The food in that city is just amazing! St Lawrence is probably my favorite place to go. On my first visit we happened upon this place and thought«why not we’ll try it» and we were so happy we did! The food here is really well done. The chef uses the local seafood to its full potential which I love. The beer selection was great both times as well which makes me double happy. This place just has a great vibe too. The staff is really nice and make you feel like you’re not just in a tourist area. So if you happen to be in NOLA and want a good meal, stop by St Lawrence. You won’t be mad you did.

Sooooo… in my favorite city in the U.S. and I stumble across St Lawrence trying to escape a storm. At a glance the menu is very standard NOLA fare, but then you order and start eating and it soars! I had the red beans and rice w sausage and then in the spirit of Chris Rock I asked«how much for one piece of fried chicken»…and they delivered. The commercial Best Fried Chicken in NO is Wille Mae’s Scotch House… but this Yard Bird from St Lawrence… AMAZE Balls(in my 9 yr old daughter Selena’s voice) Overall…great waitstaff, great drinks, and the BEST Fried Chicken I’ve ever had in NO. Outside was crispy and golden, but the meat was super moist and seemed to stay warm forever. If you find yourself in NOLA and feel like a very pleasantly surprising dining experience… check this place out. I’ll be back soon! And I will only say Tempura battered Oreos… and stop there.

I like St. Lawrence for a drink or two and the wings are tasty with the Crystal Hot Sauce pepper jelly glaze. It’s not a place I’d throw down for an entire meal though. The buffalo oysters were a bit heavy on the batter and the batter was a bit gluey. I ordered a second batch of wings because I had enjoyed the first, but the second round was not as cooked and so the chicken felt almost rubbery unlike the first batch. My friend ordered the hangar steak and it was decent but expensive for what you got. My other friend ordered macaroni and cheese, which never came. Drinks are average in price and taste for the area. Every time I’ve been they seem a bit understaffed and while the service is friendly, I’d rather spend a meal at this price point elsewhere.

SO and I went for drinks and some snacks. He got some sort of blackberry drink that was limited time and I had the Saint Lawrence(as this is their signature drink) to drink. For food mid-day we got a small order of the mac-n-cheese(OMFGYUM!!) and the seasonal green salad(super fresh with a nice vinaigrette). Everything was delicious, would come back again!

I really hate to give St. Lawrence 3 stars, because the staff was super nice, but I was still left disappointed. First of all, we ended up here because this is one of the few places that has a pretty decent menu and serves food after 10. We were STARVING(at least I was starving), so I was expecting to be blown away by whatever I ended up getting here. The first thing we ordered was the Irish stout cheese dip. Whoa! This is super good and it comes with kettle chips for dipping! Everything else on the menu sounded so amazing. Shrimp and grits, a Cuban sandwich and the bacon cheddar burger had me torn. I decided to go for the burger. So, we ordered, and although they didn’t seem super busy, the food took a while. Then the waitress comes out to tell me that they accidentally made my burger«well done»(I wanted medium), so they had to redo it. The other food order was ready, so they brought that out, so my dining companion could eat. I’m still waiting and I’m still starving and the burger is taking forever. When the burger finally made it out, I was excited. It looked AMAZING and well worth my 30 minutes-total wait. I cut into it and immediately knew that it was cooked medium-well to well done. I wasn’t about to send it back, so I just dealt with it. The fries were cold, as I’m sure they were made when my first burger was on the grill. I didn’t bother mentioning this to the waitress, because honestly, I didn’t want to wait another 15 minutes for a burger that MIGHT be cooked the way I want. I ended up eating half of the burger, about 3 fries and just taking the rest of it home. For our trouble, my one($ 6) beer was comped. Um… yay? It was basically a total rip off for the price. My friend got the Cuban sandwich, and mentioned that it was really good, so if I go back I guess I’ll get that. Honestly, I probably won’t return. They are getting three stars because the atmosphere is nice and the staff was attentive and apologetic about their blunder.
