Stumbled in this restaurant as I was looking for a nice dinner. I started off with the Gumbo which was good and a french 75 but the true highlight of the meal was the«Les Petits Filet Mignon & Frites» the steak was butter soft with a great sauce to accompany the streak and frites. I was impressed with the service. I sat for almost an hour just enjoying my meal, I would most definitely recommend Tableu to anyone looking for fine dining in the Big Easy.

Walked in here in a massive downpour. Made our way to the bar and were treated like kings by barman JD an order of spectacular crab fingers accompanied by crispy fries rock salt and parmesan. We were seated at a table and our drinks and appetizers instantly appeared. Ordered creole shrimp and grits. Enjoyed every bite. Would definately reccommend the food and service.

Favorite meal we had in New Orleans. Sat at the upstairs bar and had great service and delicious food. We started with the shrimp remoulade and fried eggplant(usually on the happy hour menu, but they offered to make them for us). I went with the gulf shrimp(phenomenal), and he had an off-menu item the bartender recommended – filet mignon topped with a crawfish sauce served with pomme frittes. We skipped dessert and opted for a crafty cocktail instead. Great experience in the heart of Jackson Square.

I originally wanted to try Tableau for their balcony and the view you have on the square from up there. It seemed like a perfect location and I didn’t give it too much thought. I walked in and asked if they had any table available but obviously I didn’t think that such a popular spot would require reservation. The staff was nice enough to accommodate me even though I didn’t think for a minute about calling beforehand, and they managed to get me a table. I was travelling alone and I’ve had bad experiences with some(upscale) restaurants, turns out that they do not like to waste a perfectly good table on a lone customer because, obviously, it could have seated three, but I had the best service I could have asked for at Tableau. I feel like I really need to stress that point: the best service I could have asked for. The staff was really nice and friendly, and I felt comfortable from the minute they welcomed me. Now, the service is one thing, but the food is another. I didn’t check the menu before getting in(I told you I just wanted the balcony view) and I was a little bit bothered by their prices upon checking the different items. It may have been because of the heat, the nice jazz music from the street below or my stomach growling, but I decided to suck it up, stay and order. Now let me tell you that I do not like to spend money, on anything, really, and coming from France where you can get a good three course meal for less than 20 $, it hurts me to pay more than that for a single dish. But I did, and I do not regret it. If you see the price a an indicator of how good the dish actually is, then it was definitely worth the dollars(even though I still think it is a tad overpriced) and I came back two days later and ordered the exact same thing because I loved it so much. Definitely make some time to stop by Tableau if you’re staying in the city for a few days, or even if you are a local. Oh, and make a reservation if you’re going for dinner, even though I’d recommend going for lunch(it was less busy).

Dinner at Tableau was an incomparable experience. The friend I was dining with was an old friend of the chef, so we got the VIP treatment, starting with a Grand Royale assortment of appetizers, including truffled crab fingers(excellent, tender and juicy), fried oysters(never my go-to appetizer, but definitely the best fried oyster I’ve ever had), crabmeat ravigote(delicate and rich), and shrimp remoulade(fresh shrimp and deliciously fried tomato). We nursed cocktails while we polished off the Grande Royale appetizers. My personal favorite cocktail was the Ticket to Ride, a slightly tart and very boozy combination of El Dorado 8 year rum, rosemary syrup, honey, and Tin Roof Juke Joint IPA. If you have a hard time imagining those flavors together, do yourself a favor and just try it :) Other delicious options are the Pimm’s cup(refreshing and ever so slightly sour), the Dark and Stormy, and the Mysterious Ways(bourbon, cider, maple syrup, and lemon). For the main course, I ordered the Roast Duck Leg Confit and it was divine — the duck meat was perfectly braised and fell off the bone onto the bed of dirty rice and satsuma marmalade, whose sweetness perfectly complemented the garlicky duck. My dinnermates ordered the Pan-Roasted Redfish Bienville(delicious with its blue crab butter sauce) and the BBQ Shrimp and Grits(a staple for an out-of-towner to try and fall in love with). Our friend Chef John also brought us a trio of desserts: the Frozen Lemon Meringue Parfait(citrusy fresh with a unique«icebox cake» texture), Blueberry Buckle(this Southern girl’s dream — fresh blueberries in a butter cookie crumble with ice cream flavored by local honey), and the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée(my favorite by far — rich custard delicately flavored by vanilla beans, with just the right ratio of crispy caramelized sugar crust). After dessert we went on a brief tour of the restaurant. The upstairs has a more«sportsbar» atmosphere than downstairs, and seems like a great place to watch LSU games. They frequently host jazz musicians who serenade diners while they eat. Other amazing features are the private banquet rooms, the balcony/courtyard seating, and the wine room, which is a definite hidden treasure. I highly recommend this restaurant experience, and am looking forward to returning to Tableau soon!

My friends and I went to an early dinner on Saturday evening. There was only a 5:30 reservation available because we made the reservation the week of. The weather was nice, so we sat in the courtyard which was nice. The staff are more casual outside, but it seemed like the customers seated in the dining room were receiving more attentive service. Our waiters seemed a little bored. The food was very good — Filet a la Bernaise and Filet a la Oscar were delicious. My friend had the Shrimp and Grits and it was a bit annoying to have to remove the heads from the shrimp. The Blueberry Buckle and Milk Chocolate Bread Pudding were both very good. Overall the dinner was nice and I would recommend.

Want to have an authentic big easy dining experience? Well this is it! It’s what we have been looking for since we arrived three days ago. Tableau has amazing atmosphere and live music! Our cordial hostess Justine took us to our table in the courtyard. We had a excellent team, Jeremy and Deidre, that served us our drinks and food. They also ensured we had a wonderful dining experience. Looking for a fast bite to eat, well you are in the big easy… If you plan on dinning at Tableau, take a moment, breathe, relax and take the time to really enjoy your meal. Tableau was recommended by the concierge at the Sheraton when we asked for a place to enjoy our last lunch with live Jazz music. So happy we spoke to them! We went to several places listed on Unilocal while in New Orleans… well two nights in a row we were disappointed in restaurants with rave reviews, finally I know where to go for the experience we were looking for! If you are reading all the bad reviews for Tableau, well you have to apply a filter to certain reviews, you know the ones I’m talking about! This is a must see restaurant if you are visiting New Orleans. ** When we had our lunch we ate off their menu, this was not a buffet.

My daughter and I had dinner there last week. It was our first night in New Orleans. We were very excited. The place was empty on Monday, May 3rd. The maitre d was very rude. He told my daughter to zip her pocketbook if she wasn’t going to pay attention. We chose to eat at the bar rather than the table by the kitchen. The bartender was somewhat pleasant. I decided to order the Les Petits Filet Mignon, which I’ve had at Ruth’s a million times. To my surprise three pieces of gristle hidden under a sub par Bearnaise sauce were served. Needless to say I was not happy. We had wonderful meals every where else. I recommend the The Court of Two Sister.

The food at this pace is amazing good! The atmosphere is superb! The service is slow! :-(It took about 10 minutes to get water and another 10 to get our drinks and maybe five more until we got bread. our waiter kept saying«Kitchen is slow tonight.» I think maybe his name was Kitchen! But the food is definitely worth waiting for. We started with Truffled Crab Fingers at the bar(Super quick!) and followed that with the Grilled Pork Tenderloin with bourbon molasses glaze. My wife had the Gulf Fish and I stole a few bites. Very tasty. Dessert was the Blueberry Buckle. It was so good that two nights later we stopped back for dessert and we took turns eating the Chocolate Almond Sundae and the Blueberry Buckle — again! Five star desserts but it took us an hour. Maybe its my yankee blood and I need to learn to slow down and enjoy the experience. On the positive side, they definitely don’t rush you! I highly recommend Tableau.

This place screams everything that is New Orleans. Live jazz in the main dining area, balcony seating, and hearty plates. The drink menu had a good range of interesting mixes. I loved the drink«when the levee breaks» the name was strange but the mix was solid. For my starter I ordered the crab meat trist. This was so fresh and savory. I had the tableau chicken for dinner and this too was delicious. The chicken was crisp and moist. I even enjoyed dessert and coffee at the end and both were solid. Great place. You must dine here when in the area.

In town with a group of girlfriends celebrating one of their birthdays. Came across this place while looking for a nice place to dine. Located in the french quarter area but away from Bourbon street so it wasn’t loud and rowdy. The restaurant is two stories with a nice second floor balcony which we requested to be seated. The dinner menu is simple and price isn’t cheap so if you’re looking for cheap eats, go elsewhere. Because I wasn’t very hungry, I just opted for the roasted pear salad($ 10) and added a side of chicken($ 8). The girls all had main entrees with sides. The food was just OK for me, good enough to satisfy me for the evening. The service is top notch though!

I ordered the duck Confit which was very tender and had some excellent flavor to the sauce. I also tried some of the fillet of beef. We also tried the Cabildo — gulf oysters that are poached in creole bordelaise. For appetizer we tried the Shrimp Rémoulade — excellent and tasty! You’re able to see the kitchen from the dining area, which is great because I like to see what’s going on back there. The service is excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive of our needs. I would recommend and will maybe come back next time I’m in New Orleans.

Skip it!!! I am only giving it two stars for the view and musicians who play around your table on the balcony. The food and service is the absolute worst. We had an absentee waiter and waitress the entire time and it took 20 minutes to get a water. Went to look for the waitress and found her watching tv. Unacceptable! Ok, so avoid all these items: shrimp remoulade(no flavor), truffles crab fingers(just gross and watery), Croque Madame(soggy and gross), Tableu burger(cooked alllll wrong) Pass pass pass!

Location location location! This place is huge ya’ll! You could get lost finding your way to the bathroom. The décor is classic old New Orleans which I love. They have a wrap around balcony which overlooks Jackson Square and is perfect for spring or fall days! We went for brunch and loved every bit of it! ESPECIALLY desserts!!!

On the last day of our trip in New Orleans, we stopped by Tableau for brunch. We caught the tail end of the jazz band playing downstairs where we were seated, but were treated to the wonderful music as it floated from downstairs. The interior is modern yet classic, and the large windows overlook Jackson Square which is great for people watching. We weren’t starved having just finished a walking tour of the Quarter. Our waiter was really nice and suggested the truffle crab fingers for an appetizer. They smelled great(I’m a sucker for truffles) but the texture wasn’t my thing. If you like cold crab then you’ll love it. I really did enjoy the Croque Madame. It was a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a fried egg on top. So yummy and perfect for brunch. As a final treat, we shared the Café Olé Pot de Crème. It was the perfect combination of sweet and bitter with chicory blended into the cream. For extra fanciness, the cup came with a spoon made out of sugar cookie. I would love to come back and see what the menu is like for dinner and lunch.

In town for a conference and our off site dinner was scheduled for Tableau. Our four course menu was slow and drawn out. Admittedly, I am coming from a non southerner’s perspective so over 2.5 hours may be the norm. Our server was great — efficient and constantly refilling empty wine and water glasses. We had a few hurricanes before dinner so my recall is a bit fuzzy on the salad and appetizer courses. Let’s say they were good, not memorable(clearly haha). I had the filet for dinner and despite waiting at least 40 minutes for it, the seasoning they had put on it was to die for. I had the monkey bread for dessert and, at this point, was stuffed beyond belief to take more than a few bites. I can’t speak to price, but looking at the menu suggests Tableau doesn’t come cheap. But, for the quality of service and food, it’s well worth it!

Made reservations here since we were looking for a nice place to have dinner as a Christmas present to ourselves. As much as we try, we sometimes feel uncomfortable in more upscale restaurants, but this place was fine. It was nice and classy, but not snobby or pretentious. We ordered some drinks French 75 and Sazarac(French 75 was one of my favorite drinks even prior to moving to NOLA), an appetizer of borrata pistou(yummy bread, cheese, and pesto) from the happy hour menu, and I got the roasted stuffed eggplant. My boyfriend got the veal. Everything tasted delicious. There was just the right amount of spice in the eggplant. I’d prob give this place 5 stars if there wasnt a weird change of server(they were all covering from the steakhouse restaurant for some reason), but our guy waiter was great. And our drinks and appetizer were supposed to be from the happy hour menu(and it was during happy hour times), but we were charged full price. We just didn’t feel like making it an issue though. Not our typical dinner place, but I’d go back if we had the opportunity.

Hey! Reviewers! It’s what we do. We chase new restaurants and RAVE or SLAM on em. I have been eye balling this place for months and was invited to a birthday dinner. It was such a beautiful experience. The service was excellent. I really liked the bartenders(even tried to recruit a few) because they were that good and cozy there. The aroma of the seafood made my mouth water. Kim Katdashian took a plane around the world to wind up in New Orleans at Bourbon house for their crab claws!!! What! Huh??? She should have tried some place relevant. You can go hang on the 2nd floor sofas or balcony for Saints games. I really liked the Library on the 2nd floor. It was intimate and inviting. The wine cellar next to it ain’t too bad to watch and wish for either.

Our group of ten descended upon Tableau for a 730pm dinner on a Thursday night. We found the restaurant quite busy but our long empty table was waiting for us almost in the center of the dining room behind the bar like an oasis in a desert. I think we broke a rule by walking through the bar serving area but we were hungry and that was the shortest route to start eating. Service the entire evening was spot on. We plowed through a couple bottles of Stag Leap while waiting for our entrées which seemed to arrive after a reasonable wait. We also gnawed on these tiny little crab fingers which was a first for me. Delicious though. My wife ordered the BBQ Shrimp and Grits while I went with the Tableau Chicken. The shrimp turned out to be giant with the heads still on and eyeballs looking at you. I couldn’t eat them but my wife had no trouble. She didn’t go as far as sucking out the meat from the heads though. My chicken was excellent and I loved the béarnaise sauce on top. The others all cleared their plates in preparation for dessert. For dessert, my wife chose the Tart a la Bouille to share with me while others picked the monkey bread. The tart was the low point of the evening and a mistake as the monkey bread was much better. All in all an excellent meal out with our friends.
