U-Haul Moving & Storage at St Claude Ave

Soooooo having to move the very last bit of my things for my house renovations; I opted to go West instead of East for my Uhaul needs. Wellllllllll this was a very wise decision as my Uhauling & customer service needs were met & with exceeded.
For a Sunday morning, two people working; I was impressed. Despite a line that had formed, processing was efficient, swift & 100% satisfactory. Jidé was excellent in her service, customer handling time, disposition. I found her communication to be stellar & truly ‘top-​notch’.
Reserving the vehicle was a breeze. A few clicks of the mouse button & my reservation was made & I was on the road to moving success. Email confirmation here; email confirmation there & I was done. Express check-​in, as offered once the reservation is made, was also convenient.
Once at the counter I simply provided my confirmation number, verified some info, made my payment, did a walk thru to inspect the vehicle for damages & other items & I was done.
Upon my return, checking in was just a swift.
I loved this Uhauling experience as it embodied the full monty of what EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE is supposed to be.

We chose this place due to its convenient location and the fact that we got it for FREE for one month.
Otherwise, I’d never, ever store my stuff here. It’s hot, stinky, and dirty. Our storage unit smells AWFUL. And the plywood flooring is wet and terribly dirty.
We went to the Family Dollar up the road and bought baking soda and Glade air fresheners.

There propane is a little high, but then, they don’t have any. The tank failed inspection. You gotta to to a store way far away (unlike macy’s in the Christmas story, they send you past the nearest place to get propane to there own store yea. I know gotta support yourself, but of course I’m going to find the nearest place so help me be happy). I ended up going to a local hardware store on Jefferson highway. I’ve gone there three or more times with good luck.
Renting a trailer here was not bad. (Though an 8 foot trailer won’t hold an 8 foot sheet of plywood. Its like its really 7foot 11inches) ended up wasting space with everything at an angle.

SO MUCH rat shit in our stuff after only 3 weeks of storage there! maybe there was excellent customer service there in the past, but that is simply no longer the case.

this u haul location has great employees. i rented a truck from them last year around this time to move from one apartment in nola to another. i was able to pick up and drop off the truck without a problem. (i’ve heard, nationally, that u haul trucks are prone to break down so i can’t comment on the reliability since i wasn’t traveling very far in mine. for the small distance that i traveled, the truck held up.)
today, i dropped in to buy some moving supplies for an out-​of-​town move and received the same friendly customer service. the supplies are a bit pricey, but if you don’t want to buy in bulk from internet sites, this is your place to go.
