Went for lunch, we had a basic salad dish, the dressing was nothing special. I had broiled fish and chips, the fish was tasty and chips were good. My son had the stuffed baked lobster which he really enjoyed. Also good craft beer selection. Wait staff was mediocre, spilled clam chowder on table when serving. Overall it was as expected for the touristy location.

Great food and great service. This island is a little pricey, but the twin lobster special is amazing and hard to beat. Ambiance isn’t quite fine dining, but with butter dripping down my cheek, that is the last thing that was on my mind. I would pass on the calamari next time, but delicious dinner.

Nothing fancy but the food was excellent as was the service. We ate out on the deck which overlooks the harbor and it was a delightful evening. The prices were reasonable and the portions were very good. My whole belly clams were as tender as can be and they were very tasty. If we had one more night we would have gone back a second time.

I’m with a few others here. I found the older woman,(guessing owner) to be rude. And I expect a fish market to have better food. I bought lobster rolls, they were good, small but good. But the fried food was expensive for what I got, and the staff seemed under-trained IMO.

Good, convenient location could not compensate for the super slow service and rather mediocre food. The servers were struggling to cover the tables and the kitchen took for ever to get our lobsters to the table. The baked potato and corn on the cob sides were also completely flavorless and totally blah. Both our lobsters has eggs in the tail which made me feel really bad about having a double negative impact AND also made the tail meat smaller. With all the wonderful restaurant options around, Im definitely not coming back again.

We arrived at Finn’s at 5:30pm Saturday, August 15, 2015 and was seated right away by a friendly hostess. Atmosphere was appropriate for a beach island setting and service was great. Ordered a baked seafood platter and clams casino appetizer. Clams Casino was prepared nicely and tasted good however, baked seafood platter was small for the price of $ 24. and fish was overcooked. Two shrimp a few scallops and fish were in the platter. The shrimp was hard to cut even with a butter knife provided and chewing it was a chore as well. Scollops were hard to chew and over cooked however the fish was better. Restroom was a total MESS and on a scale of 1 –10 with 10 being the best, I give it a 1. Now a little commentary if you will. Rhode Island is known for it’s beaches and seafood, when a restaurant on the beach prepares seafood fair to poor one has to question if the chef or person owning the establishment is from New England to begin with. And if they are from New England and they can’t cook seafood, then their in the wrong business, perhaps a gift shop would be a better fit. I did not complain and finished my dinner, but to say I was disappointed and that I expected more is an understatement. But, we were with great friends and the time spent together will be memorable. I will be trying a new restaurant next time for sure.

We had a ferry to catch and after a long day needed a fast bite to eat. We asked to sit outside and was met with extremely fast service, and someone who was able to accommodate our request. Grilled cheese and pasta for the kids. Raw clams and a chicken sandwich for the wife. Thank you!

Here with my family for dinner and it was excellent! Three of us had the lobster and it was«on point». Grilled salmon was perfect, as were the filet mignon and the swordfish. Definitely the place to go for seafood! Also, it is Sunday night around 6:15. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait to sit outside and we sat in 10 minutes. Definitely recommend Finn’s!

Had the fried clam whole bellies, not as flavorful as expected. Had much higher expectations for an actual fish market. Service was great.

This is a no frills seafood joint. Seafood is fresh not fancy. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Convenient location near the ferries and Ballard’s Beach.

Cons: The bar didn’t know what a twist is for my martini. It’s a lemon peel not a lime wedge. The broiled fish had a chemical taste. The waitress never came to the table between taking my order, dropping off food and leaving the check. Over priced. Pros: There is a nice view from the upper balcony. I would not recommend.

The good : Service– fast and friendly Location — close to the ferry with a view of the ocean The bad: Food. We had less than an hour to catch the ferry so we decided to stop by Finn’s. We ordered 2 beers and cajun fried calamari. We figured, if they are good we will order more food to go so we can eat it on the ferry. So the calamari were not crispy at all, breading was falling off and it was very dark and soggy, as if it someone reheated our food in the microwave. Calamari itself was not rubbery or chewy, it was not bad, it was this strange breading that just made the entire dish just blah. I’ve head better fried calamari in a local Italian restaurants:( Long storry short we ended up ordering another round of beers and left, too bad as I originally was planning on ordering a lobster roll, but after the calamari i didn’t want to risk another unpleasant dish.

Don’t head here if you want a hot lobster roll! They only have cold with mayo! God –tell me it is not so!!! So disappointed. Need to be a tad more dog friendly.

Great lunch today. We split a quart of excellent steamers to start. Best I have had in a long time. I had an excellent clam roll. Really good lightly fried and tasty. My wife and our friend had excellent lobster rolls and my son had a top shelf cheeseburger. Great IPA on tap. Ready to go back soon.

Love Finn’s for family eating with a great view and seafood. Always try to eat here once during our stay. Fresh seafood on the deck enjoying the view. The food is fresh and service is really good. The menu has stayed the same over the years without much variation but it’s all good.

Finn’s is located right on the parking lot near where the ferries dock in Old Harbor. There are designated parking spots for the restaurant, and patrons can either order from a takeout window or they can sit for waitstaff service. We went here for dinner, and there isn’t much of a difference between what is served at the take out window and what is served in the restaurant, and that extends to quality. I ordered the mussels appetizer as a meal, and although the mussels were extremely large and generally tender, they were not de-bearded and there was some grit in the shellfish. In addition, the garlic broth in which they were cooked was almost tasteless. Although there are some great options on the menu – others in our party enjoyed fried clams, for example, and they had a lobster special that many in the restaurant seemed to really like, you can find much better seafood on Block Island that is prepared a little more carefully. It seems as if much of it was prepared on «auto-pilot,» and, with a little more attention, this place could be much better.

This is the place to come for fresh seafood — I wouldn’t recommend ordering anything else. The steamers were excellent and I couldn’t find them in many other places on the island. The oysters were also delicious. Fried calamari was good but a bit too much batter for my taste; again, I would really stick to the fresh seafood at Finn’s. I had the steamed lobster and my boyfriend had the fresh swordfish. Both were very tasty although we ordered corn on the cob as a side and it was soft and mealy. As for atmosphere, the inside is small and unappealing and the front outdoor area is in the ferry parking lot. Only good option is the second floor patio and it really is a lovely place to eat dinner, overlooking the old harbor.

Since we were on Block Island for a week, we decided to have a few meals at the house to save a few bucks. After ham & cheese sandwiches on the beach for the first few days some of us was ready to venture for some seafood. One of the places we saw near the old harbor was Finn’s. Finn’s has a seafood market and a restaurant. You can order from the stand or sit inside and enjoy your meal. We thought this would be a great place to rid us of the cold cuts taste in our mouths. After it was all said and done, we were extremely disappointed. I ordered the fried scallop roll. Though it was disappointing, it was below average. Most people make the mistake of not properly seasoning their food when they plan on battering and deep frying it; a mistake I believe Finn’s is guilty of making. In addition it would have been better served had the bun been at least toasted and buttered. The Cajun calamari appetizer was different but still did not wow. Matter of fact it was quite on the greasy side. Two members of my party had grilled tuna salads. The salads were a bit on the small side and the tuna was extremely raw. There is nothing wrong with raw tuna if it is served right off the grill but if it is seared during morning prep, sliced, and kept in a fridge to save time then it is nothing but a flavorless chewy piece of meat. The shrimp salad faired a little better. The steamers and the oysters were ok, but I guess you really can’t screwed that up.

Are you on Block Island? and looking for a place to have good Seafood? Then Finn’s is your place. Not too far from the Ferry and one of the many beaches on the island. I have been going to this place since I can remember, and never had a ad experience there. Food is always cooked just right, and service is good.
