Everything was so good. And the children’s menu was one of the best we’ve encountered! Can’t wait to go back.

Very busy Saturday night as usual Turner special was swai fish, so why not give it a try came with mustard sauce on top that was wonderful not too strong and very flavor able… sides were a baked potato and mixed vegetables it was awesome. Great service by Chris the waiter he is a 10 out of 10 he remembers your drinks and pays attention to you table. Oldest bar in Minnesota.

First time in town? Don’t know anyone? Go to Turner Hall. Nancy will take care of you. Food’s great, although it’s sandwiches and fries most of the week, it’s good stuff. Beer’s local and cheap. Locals are friendly. My tab for 2 beers and a sandwich… was $ 13. Glad the hotel girl pointed me here.

Great place to eat or drink in New Ulm. Only difficult thing is finding the right door! Interesting location with great charm on the inside. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which had cole slaw and their signature turner sauce, it was really tasty. The monster onion rings had great breading and flavor! I enjoyed the philly steak sandwich(it was on special) with the fries, it was a superb sandwich that paired great with my nordeast. We also enjoyed some popcorn(make sure you put some money in the donation jar). Some of the best popcorn I’ve had in a bar. After dinner my wife had a Minnesota bulldog at the bar, we enjoyed good conversation with the bartender and other patrons. Go on the schells tour then make sure you grab a bite at historic Turner Hall, the oldest bar in Minnesota!

Came here on Tuesday for«Hamburger Night» and so glad that I did. Friends of ours(222) invited us here and I thought I would be in for the same old burger fare you get from just about any burger joint. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the classic burger with Swiss and corned beef because I had to try corned beef on a burger and I’ve got to say, it’s one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. The meat was flavorful and tender and the patty was VERY thick. Normally, these come dry and dense, but this was anything but. It’s a wide burger, not round but still oval and was more than enough to satisfy near any appetite. And, since it was Hamburger Night, you get 2 for 1… ridiculous. Not sure why I’d consider anywhere else for a burger if I was craving any given week. The service was very friendly, as were the patrons. The beer was great and the sides delicious. My first experience here was a wonderful one. I lived in New Ulm for 7 years and left n 1982. I’ll definitely find my way back here when I visit New Ulm next.

First, the food is great, with a nice variety of choices on the menu. One of us had the German platter — smoked pork chop, brat, some ribs, and of course, kraut. The other order was for the Ribs & Shrimp. Not a combo that I would have expected, but done to perfection. Of course, this being in New Ulm, Schells is on tap. The service was friendly and wait staff answered several questions about the menu, the town, and the surroundings. And those surroundings! This is one of the unique dining places in the Midwest — a historic Rathskeller with murals painted in the 19th century, depicting scenes of Germany. Made me want to linger and maybe order another Schells.

Excellent burgers and a great atmosphere. Couple that with Schell’s beer on tap and you have an excellent combination. Reasonable prices and they also have a new rear entrance. My wife and I are considering becoming members mainly because we were so happy with the food. Try their mozzarella sticks, very flakey and light.

We stopped in here for a late lunch after visiting Schells. The service was great as the staff was really nice and personable. Granted it was 3pm, I would hope this to be the case. The food was mediocre. I ordered the sampler and selected the Ruben balls, chicken drummies and chips. The Reuben balls were great, as were the dummies but the chips were not that great. The boyfriend ordered the beef sandwich and it needed a sauce… bad! The fries were good that came with his meal as well. We ordered a beer each and it was super cheap! I couldn’t believe it! They do have a 2 price point system, where if you are a member(pay $ 85 a year) you pay the lower price and if not you pay the higher price… a little strange but it wasn’t too bad.

Most homiest, comfortable bar in New Ulm. Great historical venue with good food and great beer.
