Considering I work literally around the corner; during the spring and summer it was almost a ritual to get halal from this specific place.(Not to mention everyone I knew started coming here as well) Yes lines are long Yes some of the other choices might be slightly more expensive then other trucks in the city But not only does he treat his regulars like family, not only is he a jokester but the food is appealing and filling.

He gouged the price. I handed him a $ 5, For the chicken kabob that is usually $ 4. Bill in hand he tells me,“whats this? $ 7 for kabob.” Word to the wise, if the prices aren’t posted prices are negotiable. Didn’t want to fight him over $ 3 or ruin the mood, so I handed him another $ 5. Price gouging is not nice and I really wanted to have a great experience at your stand Halal Guys; the reviews on Unilocal gave me high expectations.

Can’t beat the $ 5 dollar chicken/lamb over rice platter. Very affordable and tasty. I have tried the combo platter which comes with lamb/chicken meat over rice and salad. Comparable to halal guys, I think this place has more flavor to their meat than the halal guys carts. The salad on the side also comes with corn, black beans, and lettuce which is different than the other gyro carts in the city.

This place was good but not great. Reviews are exaggerated but I still enjoyed the food. I got a 50⁄50 chicken & lamb plate and a felafel gyro… Honestly I liked the felafel best, with the chicken a close second and I just wasn’t a fan of the lamb.

This is the famous, Rafiqi’s ! This is my spot for lunch. Since I’m on a diet they offer falafel or chicken salad. The taste is great with the whit sauce. This place always has a long line however worth the wait. Love this cheap food! Their chicken and lamb is so tender that it melts in your mouth. Where can u get a falafel sandwich for $ 3? Or falafel custom salad for $ 4? In the midtown or K-town is ridiculously inexpensive. Jacks 99 cent store is a block away and its followers wound up here. They love that hot green and red sauce. Too hot for me! Lol!

Freakin’ unbelievable! Best value in the City! We checked in to the Doubletree in Chelsea, and my wife was hungry. So I started looking for places in the area, and saw all the great reviews for this place, so we the made the five minute walk and couldn’t be more pleased! Food is absolutely amazing!!! Service was great too! We have already made plans to come back tomorrow for lunch.

This place is great! I knew I wanted a falafel for lunch but I’m new to working in this area and I’m still figuring out the food scene. After reading the great reviews I took a chilly stroll down the 31st to get a falafel sandwich and I was not disappointed! The men working at the cart were so kind taking time to ask me how I wanted my food prepared and chatting with me about the weather. It was quick and the sandwich was delicious — chock full of yummy falafel and veggies and of course the hot sauce was to die for. I love me some hot sauce. Love. It. And this did not disappoint, spicy to the max but not so spicy that I couldn’t taste my food and wanted to die. And the best part? This gigantic sandwich was only $ 4! I’ll definitely be going back.

I found this place and tried the lamb with spicy rice. It was good, but it tasted like most of the food from the carts around the city. Nothing special, honestly.

THEBEST. Seriously. I can’t believe it took me this long to find my holy grail lunch spot near work, but now I’m totally obsessed. Not as obsessed as some of my coworkers, who go every day, but it’s getting damn close. Mohammed is from Egypt and he’s the sweetest guy, and somehow remembered my name and that I’m from Florida after just one or two visits. I’ve had some very uninspired halal cart food in my life, but his is consistently awesome. Lamb, chicken, or a combo over your choice of rice is $ 5, and comes with sauteed onions, a few random French fries, a crunchy little iceberg salad, and often a stray falafel. Let him slather on white sauce and hot sauce and go nuts.

This is a steal. The food tastes like it was cooked with love. So walk to Greeley park, sit down and enjoy it — you lucky mofo. $ 5 Lamb over spicy rice, salad covering only a quarter of the platter — thankfully. The lamb is delicious and the rice is too. The vegetables are crunchy and the falafel thrown in is superb.

This halal cart, labeled as Sharif along the top, always seems to draw a crowd during the lunch hours. The food looks fresh and plentiful, offering up lamb or chicken, and 3 types of rice: brown, yellow, and spicy. Two enthusiastic men and a kid were operating the cart at the time I visited this cart. The grill was piled high with meat, divided into 3 sections with makeshift metal partitions. The very left contained the new food being grilled, followed by the chicken section being kept warm, and then the smallest of the three being the lamb meat which was being kept warm on the grill. Usually, I question how long the meat is sitting on the grill if I don’t see them throw it on upon order. But because of the crowds and curiosity, I decided to order a Chicken over Rice($ 5.00) with their spicy rice. A styrofoam tray was immediately pulled out, piled with several spoonfuls of their spicy rice, salad, chicken, french fries, 1 falafel, and white sauce and hot sauce swirled on top in a spiral fashion for good measure. They are definitely quick, without a doubt. I was excited to see them throw fries and a falafel into my platter, one that I’ve been longing ever since the generous chef Omar left the Little Morocco halal cart(the owner has decided not to honor Omar’s generosity to his clientele, and stick to just the basics: rice, meat, and an overabundance of salad). Portions are decent, the biggest highlight being that the salad, consisting of just chopped fresh lettuce, only took up ¼ of the platter, as opposed to the 1⁄3 salad portions that many halal carts have recently been leaning towards to. The salad was crisp without any sign of browning, signifying freshness. Then came the rice, which was not very spicy, but had a subtle seasoning to it that didn’t overpower the palate but enough to make a presence. The chicken was delightful, seasoned well and tender, and mixed with vegetables(onions, broccoli, etc.). The unseasoned fries were soggy, but were a nice touch to added some extra carbs to the dish. The falafel was tolerable, although dry due to it being previously deep-fried and just sitting in a tray on the cart, but it had a good spice to it. The white sauce was your standard mayo-based sauce, and the hot sauce had a hint of spiciness but nothing overbearing. On my second visit, I ordered the Lamb over Yellow Rice($ 5.00). The lamb is by far much better. The lamb is thinly shaved off the doner kebab after it develops a very nice sear on one side, making for a subtly crispy outside, yet still maintaining a moistness inside. The yellow rice is moist yet not overly wet, making for a standard yellow rice. So far, I prefer the spicy rice, but have yet to try their white rice which actually has a yellow hue, as if it were cooked with chicken broth. Overall, it made up for a fairly good halal cart, especially with the recent drought of good carts in the Westside(Garment District/34th St.) area. Little Morocco is no more, Adham’s Halal Cart no longer provides the quality that it once did, the two gentlemen on 34th St/7th Ave. providing a heavily cardamom-spiced rice have been replaced by two new gentlemen, leaving it open to whoever wants to take over that market. These guys on 31st and Broadway definitely provide one of the better halal carts in the area and you will definitely find me coming back again. And free fries and falafels included?! Thank you!

The BEST cart! I make it a point to eat here every time I come to the city. You can’t get better food for $ 5 in this city. The spices are wonderful and the portions are huge. My favorite is fish/tilapia day which is every Thursday. The service is fast and the servers are pleasant even at the end of a long day. I have to be honest and tell you that since I love this cart so much I decided to try them ALL, even 53&6th. There is no comparison. It is easy to grab a box of food and walk over to Greeley Park and people watch as you eat.

I love when I have an audition or some sort of business near this halal cart! BESTLAMBGYROINTOWN! And they jam pack it for 4.00! If you need a quick bite for cheap that’s hearty and delish, then come here and get you a gyro STAT! The guy was super sweet. After reading some of these reviews I may try the lamb over rice although I am pretty loyal to Halal Paradise cart at the Atlantic/Barclays stop on Pacific.

I came here based on the reviews and I’m so glad I did! I got the lamb gyro with onions and extra white sauce… incredible. The pita alone was amazing but the lamb and veggies were the best I’ve had from a cart. The guys who run it are super nice as well. Definitely check this place out… you won’t be disappointed!

I couldn’t make it to halal guy this time I visit NYC, so I gave it a try to this place. The owner is super polite and nice. The food turned out to be very good, the lamb over rice with good amount of flavors and sauce. Their spicy sauce is very spicy. The only thing that is too different from halal guy is that this place has much smaller portion and still $ 5, though I can’t recall how much it was at halal guy.

One of the better run of the mill halal carts out there. portions are regular sized. maybe even a little on the light side. Hot sauce has a little big of heat to it. Not a lot of heat but enough that you can go overboard with it and not kill yourself. Very important to know when its not self serve hot sauce. They DO have bbq sauce. Tip: you gotta ask for the jalapenos. Conclusion. Solid lunch choice and only cost 5 bucks. WINNING
