What I like about this place is that they were so quick with their delivery. NYC delivery is so slow but this place definitely was number one with delivery. Also I like that it’s cheap. We got two combo that included spring roll for dinner that totaled to $ 16.95.
The food was ok. It was everything you’d expect from a cheap dinner. The General Tso was good. The chicken and broccoli was ok but both didn’t have a lot of meat. It was mostly rice which wasn’t satisfactory.

Hole in the wall, great food, great price! I’m convinced that Chinese food in New York is so much better than Massachusetts. Mind you, born and raised in Massachusetts! I will def come back here next time I’m in Harlem!

One of the few Chinese restaurants with an A cleanliness rating. I always spring for the sweet and sour chicken. Avoid the chicken fried rice, it lacks flavor and had leftover chicken bits for some kind of flavor. Will be back.

If you are looking for inexpensive American style Chinese food, 88 Chinese is a good option. Food is made to order and tastes good. I normally order the shrimp with garlic sauce with pork fried rice. Portion size is good, normally lasts me two sittings, and the lunch special is only $ 6.50 and comes with a drink. The ladies taking the orders can be a little curt, but who really cares so long as your order is correct and your food is good! It’s not fine dining, it’s fast food. 4 stars :-)

Last night it was my friends birthday, there was a bunch of us here at the apartment and we decided to order Chinese food. We ordered a ton of food, but after an hour of nothing we called. The woman on the phone said the food was on its way. We went downstairs to wait for the food, but nothing. We called again and again, no answer. Finally around midnight (when they closed) we realized we were NEVER getting our food. This morning at 11, we called them to let them know we never received our food. The woman on the phone began laughing and said someone received the order, but we clearly did not get it. We began getting agitated since the woman kept laughing at us saying now that we ordered with another restaurant. We had the menu right in front of us, clearly marked with everyones orders on it in black sharpie. We ordered from them. Clearly this place does not care about customer service and hire incompetent people. She then hung up on us.
All we wanted was our food.

I love the ginger chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce. Pretty quick and good NYC Chinese food joint in Harlem.

I lived around the corner from 88 for 2 years. I became a regular customer and ordered many times.
Being in Harlem should be taken into consideration for this place. I have gone in to pick up food on many occasions and seen what these people have to put up with. Very often, they respond with to a nasty customer with attitude of their own. I always get a kick out of it when I walk up and be polite and nice and they reciprocate. Despite the fact that 6 nasty customers just went before me.
Oh yeah, the food. I think if you are ordering just to get something to eat, you’ll be very pleased. They are quick, the food is always right, and the prices are decent. If you are a chinese food critic, then this may not be the place for you to eat. Of all the chinese places that I have been a regular at in my life, these guys are probably the most consistent I have experienced.

It’s not the best but it’s not the worst. You can give them specifics and they follow it through till the end. They have nice pop/​soda options and compared to the «chinese food» places in Harlem proper, 88 is the best and the most efficient.
It’s worth a try.

This resturant is UNSANITARY one of the workers SPAT in the sink where they prepare the food and when my co-​worker saw that she cancelled her order and was told not to come back «HOW DARE YOU» YOU TAKE MONEY FROM THE PEOPLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND TREAT LIKE THAT… DON’T WORRY MORE PEOPLE WON’T COME BACK THERE

I call and ask if they deliver to me, they say yes and take my order. They didn’t ask for my address, but when I gave it, she didn’t understand. An hour later, they call, and still don’t understand even though I was talking to different person. I give them a cross street and end up texting the delivery guy. Then and only then they tell me I’m too far for delivery. An hour of my time was wasted bc the girl on the phone wouldn’t take the time to listen to me, or find someone who could understand.
