My sister and I came to Acqua for dinner on a Friday night. I got the prosciutto pizza, which wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but then again, it’s pizza, so even when it’s not great it’s still pretty good. We each got a glass of wine, which were pretty pricey, no options for less than $ 11 a glass. The most enjoyable part was being able to snag a table in their outdoor seating area to enjoy the nice weather.

I have always been a fan of Acqua but had stopped going months ago do to the service. My family wanted to give it another try for an event celebration, to my surprise the service/waiter was on point. You guys won me back lol.

I’ve been here a few times and the food has always been decent. However, I went last night and the food and the service were both awful. I had the ravioli and it was so incredibly salty I could barely eat it. Our waiter also wasn’t very friendly and it took forever for them to refill my water. The place was empty on a Saturday night which tells you a lot… So many better places in the area. Don’t waste money here.

My husband and I went to Acqua and had the best experience. Food was so good, our waiter which seem to be the only one taking orders was amazing, attentive and friendly needless to say. Thinking of making a weekly date spot.

Living around the corner from Acqua, it is an adequate spot to get good Italian food, not worth going out of your way for, but certainly enjoyable enough for a simple evening out. Since the new law was past making it legal for dogs to sit with you in outdoor seating in NYC my wife and I have been taking full advantage, including at Acqua. Until our last visit when we were told by ‘new management’ that this is no longer allowed in quite a condescending manner. Even when we explained that this was now legal, and we had brought our dog just a week earlier, we were rebuffed… needless to say if you enjoy brining your dog with you to dinner, this is NOT the place to go! Good luck to them staying in business on the very dog friendly upper west side!

Terrific neighborhood place. Casual. Nice wine selection. Reasonably priced. Apparently anew owner who introduced himself and took care to make sure we were enjoying our dinner. Great service. We will be back next time we visit the UWS.

I love the truffle oil and mushroom pizza. It’s amazing and cooked in an authentic wood burning oven! Service is touch and go. Sometimes fabulous and others a bit scattered. I’ve had numerous pastas and they’ve always been hot and tasty but the truffle pizza is my fav. Chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream is great too. I love the local bar vibe. There’s always a character or two hanging out having a glass on their way home. Great place and one of my favorites on the UWS.

We had a 12:30pm reservation last Sunday for 6, we were the only ones in the place when we arrived and not even sure the place was open. Service was horrible. More tables arrived and were served their food before our table even though we had ordered before them. We went through 2 baskets of bread waiting for our order. I had the omelette special which was tasteless and overall the food was bland. Too bad because the place has potential but the fact it was empty should have tipped us off.

Took my son during our vacation to this charming local resturant. Food was great, service was good and it had a really nice local feel. I would recommend. Casual but sofisticated.

The best arugula salad I’ve had in NYC. Very good meatballs with excellent tomato sauce. Wine list could use a make-over.

The food here is good. Pizza is delicious and one of the best in the neighborhood. However, last time I was here I got a penne pasta dish and it tasted funny. I sent it back and the waiter came out and said«no more penne.» That’s definitely not a good sign. I hope that it wasn’t anything poisonous because if someone takes more than one bite unlike I did they could get sick. The rest of the food here is fine so I’ll Coke back but never order pasta again.

Hoping for a serotonin rush with comforting lasagna, oozing with decadent ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan reggiano? Think again. The lasagna was boring and somewhat embarrassing, but this is only the UWS, so I manipulated myself into believing in a miracle. The pasta arrived cold and the parmesan was burnt, giving the vodka sauce a tart taste resembling vomit. I loved the bread. Not much cheese in the lasagna.

Oh, what a shame. The place looks decent, and has a nice terrace. The water guy seems determined to do a good job. But that’s where the good ends. We waited for 45 minutes until someone came to get our first order. The food we got was tasteless, and for some reason they thought noodles would be a good replacement for spaghetti. Other dishes were eatable at best. Would not recommend.

Just. Not good. Would not go back. Was really hoping for a simple Italian meal, nothing fancy, some grilled fish and veggies, some pasta with a red sauce. To start the service was slow. We didn’t order for at least 20 minutes. Ordered the caprese salad, the grilled Branzino, and the pasta Bolognese and some wine. The pasta was ok, nothing special. Same with the salad. The fish however did not taste very fresh. Before finishing we ordered a second round of wine and the second glass tasted completely different and kind of bubbly — likely the wine was corked. Oh well, at least it was relatively cheap by Nyc standards. At the end we wished we didn’t cancel our spot at the tapas place across the street. We wanted to try something different. Live and learn.

Delicious wood oven pizza in the Upper West Side. I did NOT suffer from any of the problems the bad reviewers mentioned. Great service, polite, no automatic tip. Too bad I don’t live in NYC, I would come back with my eyes closed!

Simple, casual restaurant good for families that serves some brick-oven pizza and pastas. I didn’t try either of those, although must say they looked pretty good on a neighboring table. I did have the pollo panini for lunch and enjoyed it – it’s huge, comes with a salad, and was decently priced. The chicken in it was pretty moist. Husband had the salmon panini special and enjoyed that too. Our waiter was very friendly, but service was a little off as they brought the wrong entrée for my husband(baked salmon instead of salmon panini) and it took forever for one of our bloody mary drinks to arrive. The fried artichoke appetizer was okay. a little bit oily.
