Ada Wine Bar

Tried to go here the other night but it was closed with a Rent Due notice posted on the window :/

Newly opened in neighborhood so wanted to give it a try. This place is great. Solid selection of wine, and surprisingly good beer selections too for a «wine» bar. Ordered the cheese selection. Very very large portions and good cheeses to choose from too. Also had the wings. Very hot (temperature), served bare and lightly salted. A nice break from sauced wings. Many of their regular dishes sounded great too. You will be able to find something on menu you would like. If Casellula is overflowing definitely come here, or come here first.

Came in for drinks and light food after a comedy show on a Saturday night. Sat at the bar. Bartender was really friendly and great service. Laid-​back environment, cool furnishings. Lots of wine selection and comfort food was good for a late night menu. I’d definitely go back again.

THIS PLACE IS SIMPLY AMAZING! A HIDDEN GEM. I found this place online prior to my girls trip to NYC. We wanted something near theater district with small plates to share for a meal before our show, so I booked a reservation. We were a bit skeptical when we showed up are were the only patrons in the place, but we were floored with the outstanding experience! The staff made us feel very welcome, and did a great job. We order a variety of items to share and couldn’t believe how large the portions were and how much food we had on the table. YOU CANNOT beat these prices anywear! We got the pesto dip and it came with warm crunchy bread for dipping. We also mixed a charcuterie and cheese board. The brie and goat cheese was devine and I can’t remember which meat we got but it was great! This also came out with crackers, pickles and some other sides, again the portion amount was so much! We also order the 5 selction cheese fondu! It was to die for! The apples and cucumbers were my favorite. The cruchy bread was basically just croutons, but it was still yummy with the cheese. We wanted to order the beef kabob, they were out of that, but we chose the chicken and it was grilled to perfection. I figured this would come out on a little bamboo skewer with a few pieces, but literally was on a large metal skewer and probably a whole breast of chicken. There were also peppers on the skewer that were great too. The skewer dish also came with diced potatoes which was a surprise since they weren’t listed on the menu, but they were so good! My girlfriends ordered a bottle of the Angeline, can’t say it was my favorite wine ever, a bit tart, but they enjoyed it. To top off our experience the Spotify station they were playing (minus the commercials) WAS amazing. Every song was on point. Since this place was empty, I really hope it makes it. More people need to know about this place and try it out, you will not be disappointed!!!

Walked by this wine bar on my way home from work and ended up here a week later when Ivy was packed to the gills at happy hour. The space is nice and warm– exposed brick with a great bar. Happy hour is 2 for one drinks and they have a decent amount of wines by the glass. The bartender the first time I went wasn’t the sharpest but he was very kind. I have been there twice since and service has been decent and friendly. All three times it was very quiet which is great for actually having a conversation with friends, but I worry how they are going to stay in business. I hope to come back again and try some food. Menu seems to be a mix of Greek and Mediterranean with fondue thrown in for good measure.
Will definitely be back!

Ada is a great new little gem close to to the Theater on 53^rd street! They have a craft beer selection, a very nice range of reasonably priced wines and even fondues! The steak that my dining partner got was perfectly cooked and seasoned– Bronzino was perfect, moist and fresh– zucchini fritters were a table favorite, served with a homemade tomato sauce and yogurt. This is definitely a come back place for us– and we will be bringing visitors! Yay! Small, cozy and great for first dates! Also, they have a nice private cave like party room downstairs– oh the possibilities!!!
