I am almost hesitant to write this review since I truly feel for small businesses during these trying times. However, I also feel that that the consumer should also be empowered to make educated buying decisions. My first encounter with Stylianos was when I needed a pair of suit pants tailored. The waist, hem, and seat all needed to be tailored. He first quoted me $ 90, which I felt was a bit high, especially for my first encounter with him. After a bit of haggling we agreed upon $ 70, which I still felt was on the high side. When I got the pants back I was satisfied with the quality of work, so decided to take my next suit there. The suit jacket did not need that much work, really just the back brought in, since the sleeves were the right size, and the pants were the same as earlier(waist, hem, and seat). For the suit he quoted me $ 250! This means based on what I paid to get my pants done a previous time that he was charging me about $ 180 just to do my jacket! We haggled for a bit but he would not budge, and continued to mention that it would«fit like a custom made suit», and I trusted that. When I got the suit back, it turns out his friend completed the work since«Stylianos had to go back to Greece». While it was again quality tailoring, it definitely was not a «custom made suit» and I felt a bit ripped off at $ 250. Beware going here as the prices seem to fluctuate greatly and its cash only. Taking three stars off for a seemingly random charging model and varied results.

Every year I visit the Turnbull & Asser and Oxxford winter and or summer sales. When you’re buying $ 2,500 suits(regardless of how much you save), you need a great tailor to make alterations. I know I can always, always count on Adamidis Stylianos to take great care of me and my suits. As he told me «you walk in looking like a bum and leave looking like a Prince.» So true, so true…
