Great lunch deal. Right in the midtown area, perfect for those who work/live close by. I usually do take out and my order is always right. They also have a nice seating area if you do decide to dine in. Prices are on the cheaper side.

They’re usually pretty serviceable but have recently noticed an unhappily downward trend. This last time they were over an hour late: the soup was cold and the sushi was warm. Yech. I’ve been kvetched out a couple times by their delivery guys at the security desk(I come right down when they call — hey, the elevators suck, what can I say?), which seems kinda ironic…

Ordered delivery from here… Terrible. Would not recommend again, especially with the number of better sushi places in this area. I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box for lunch, which comes with soup, salad, California roll, and shumai. The shumai, rice, and soup were as expected, but my California roll(4 pieces) were soaked with teriyaki sauce since ALL of the sauce ended up in that one compartment during delivery. As for the salmon teriyaki, what I ACTUALLY got was a single sad-looking slice of fish, 1 piece of broccoli, 1 baby corn, and 1 piece of carrot. The salad came in a styrofoam cup, but the restaurant packed the ginger dressing on top of the lettuce so I got a half portion of lettuce with 1 cucumber slice and 1 cherry tomato. Pretty lackluster in my opinion. Would not re-order ever again.

This is one of our favorite go to sushi places in Midtown. It is always quiet inside because most of their business seems to be carryout or delivery as we saw the seamless and grub hub guys constantly going in and out. Whether you eat inside or out, the sushi is awesome! Our favorites are the Akura special roll, volcano roll, lion roll, and spider roll. Don’t know about the rest of the menu as we always go straight to the specialty rolls since they are fantastic!!!

So, they thought that I didn’t speak their language, and decided to talk shit about me and my friend. No, girl… No!

Akura is on my rotation of regular lunch spots in the city! They have a full page of lunch specials for you and your co-workers to enjoy. My personal favorite is the salmon teriyaki bento box. It’s a simple dish with one slice of fish and the box also comes with a small salad with ginger dressing, 3 pieces of shumai, and a California roll. I’m not the biggest fan of California rolls so I usually ask to substitute a tuna roll in for $ 2 more. Sometimes they do it for me, sometimes they don’t. Depends on the server. Doesn’t hurt to ask! I came in yesterday with my boss and we often talk about how getting two rolls isn’t enough food, but three rolls will put us in a food coma for the afternoon. Coming in as a pair is key as we were able to order one 2 roll combo and one 3 roll(both meals come with miso soup). This way we each get 2 rolls to ourselves and can split the extra roll with 3 pieces each. I can’t say they have the best tasting rolls I’ve ever had, but I’d say they’re pretty standard. The bill came out to around $ 11/person. Decent price for all the food you get… But I’ll try to stick to my usual order next time! 3.5÷5 stars.

They put a delivery estimate of 15 – 25. An hour and half later no food, and they don’t answer their phone don’t bother.

Came here for lunch. Ordered ahead of time through the Unilocal app which is always pretty cool and convenient. Everything was ready when I got there. I decided not to take out and just eat my food there. It was no problem for my coworker and I to sit at a table. I ordered the 3 roll lunch special which was a great price. 3 rolls for 12.50 and a complimentary salad on the side. The sushi wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t that great. The rolls were a little on the smaller size, but again, good price. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but if you’re nearby and need a cheap sushi fix — this will do.

Sushi was okay, but the soup was terrible. Both the miso and vegetable soup smelled terrible and tasted like nothing. It was definitely not worth the price.

Very solid sushi place in the area. This place has incredibly fast service and the staff is very friendly. I ordered here for pickup mostly, but have dined in as well once or twice, and have never left disappointed. Fresh food that’s well made and tasty.

Eel don Lunch special while cheap was mostly flavorless. Some of the food tasted off also. Green tea: Very watery, tasted like Ito-En if Ito-En was diluted with a gallon of water. Didn’t finish for once. Miso soup: Quite watery and the seaweed had an odd softness instead of a crunch. Didn’t finish for once. Eel presentation was interesting. Came with some pickled vegetables as usual. The eel wasn’t super slimy and it was a good amount of pieces for 12.95 which is good though the rice was quite clumped, probably made before or they made it wrong. I finished the fish but not the rice. One of the women working there was pretty nice while the other didn’t seem to care much. Didn’t ask how the food was or come back again or anything of the sort. Had to ask a few times for certain things. The food overall was not super good. Regardless of the price, I wouldn’t recommend this place. I mean, if you want cheap good sushi, you might as well go to East 2 blocks up. If you want Japanese food, there are much better choices for very similar prices(12 dollar meal at Kirakuya for lunch says hello with much better tea/service) 2.4

This is only a delivery order so probably opinion is biased towards food quality rather than ambience inside the restaurant. Ordered shrimp/tuna sashimi and crab stick salad. Happily found a complementary orange sliced and ready for eating. Sashimi was fresh and of high quality. Speed was fast as well. Would definitely consider dining in.

This place was decent however; I have issues with places not authentically owned. Chinese workers and while food was ok, the delivery business is huge. I have issues with no authentic staff so if this does not matter to you… its just ok.

Worse food we ever had! Shrimp tempura was so bad they had oily smell and shrimp teriyaki was also bad too. Green tea was just boil water. Funny thing they charge 1 dollar for little hot sauce. Price was too expensive. My kids got sick after ate those food. I wish I had gone to a better Resturant. This Resturant ruined our day!!!

This is the best delivery sushi place I have ever found! The food is consistently good, they have great lunch specials, and it always arrives really fast(almost always under 20 min) They have a 2 maki roll lunch special with miso soup for around $ 10, or a 3 maki roll special for a little bit more. The rolls are much better for delivery than the sushi or sashimi but everything is tasty, fast, and reasonably priced

I have been consistently impressed by Akura. Most of the time I use seamless to order delivery. Their delivery estimate is always short and always accurate. When the food comes it is always top notch. My repeat offenders are the lobster roll, spicy California rolls, and the sushi deluxe entrée. I highly recommend the lobster rolls. Basically, they are regular sushi rolls with lobster salad inside. Very good.

Cozy little place on E 31st. I got the«regular sushi» plate which included 8 pieces of assorted sushi, salmon, tuna, etc plus California roll and a bowl of miso soup for just $ 16.95. Tough to beat that in Manhattan! Friendly service, decent sushi, and reasonable price=winner in my book.

I work in midtown where there is no shortage of sushi restaurants, so I usually filter my online ordering options by lowest estimate of delivery time. I regularly order from Akura because I know their food is tasty and the delivery is *usually*(though not always) pretty seamless. Their two-roll lunch special is $ 9.50 but bumps over their $ 10 delivery minimum if you get brown rice($ 1 extra)! It comes with two regular rolls and a small miso soup, which is the perfect light lunch for me. Not all sushi restaurants have the peanut avocado roll, and I’ll occasionally throw that into my roll rotation along with perennial favorite: the Sweet Potato Tempura roll. I also enjoy their Bean Curd Avocado roll, which the menu doesn’t describe but is made of tofu skin and avocado, although I find it much less filling than other options.

I really enjoyed my meal today. I had too much(miso soup, gyoza, crazy spider roll). But it has a been way too long since I had a roll! this place didn’t disappoint. The miso was a nice size. For the price I expected a smaller portion. Had I know how bug it would be I would have skipped the gyoza or the soup. BUT the gyoza were really good. While eating them I found myself saying«oh» repeatedly in my head because the taste was so well done it was like remembering what gyoza should be. The service was good. Attentive and timed well. I waited a little long for the roll but it was worth it! The prices are decent, I think I’ll return for the lunch special if I find myself in the area before 3pm.
