very good burger and bun, when I tried about 3 years ago. But it is not good enough to make me visit regularly.

Wondered into Burger and Co after doing some Holloween 09 shopping in Union Sq. Everything in the menu sounds so good. They don’t have actually pictures od the burgers and chicken sandwiches so you find yourself just there picturing each one in front of you. I know a sound like a fat ass but we all do. We write reviews for this great site called Unilocal*. Anyways, on to the food. I had a Miami chicken sandwich. It consist of chicken ofcourse, mayo, blue cheese crumbs, lettuce, tomatos, and avocado. My lord was the sandwitch big. I did not order fries as I wasnt really that hungry. Just wanted to eat something since it was friday and we were headint to an open bar ya dig. My gf ordered a kids meal. The burger was smaller than a White Castle slider. lol Kid you not but it came with fries so it did her justice. I did have some of her fries and they did taste pretty good. I love the fact that they have liek ten different sauces you can get aswell as an umlimited amount of red onions and pickles. Only place I seen that just has it out there for its customers. This place has a very wide menu from burgers to salads. I’d recommned it for any Burger or sandwich lover. The price could be a little steep but you pay for quality and let me tell you that it was worth every penny.

Burgers? Check. /Fries? Check. /Soda? Check. Creepy construction workers who stare and drool at Suzanne G. while she’s getting ketchup? Check. Unfortunately, Ms. G will have to get her condiments elsewhere as American Burger & Co. has been closed since 1 November 2007. I would suggest New York Burger Co. in the Flatiron District but the hard hat oggle factor might a little lacking… Then again, she’s a sexy transplant from Florida, so I’m sure she can find a new audience for her ketchup pumping skills. — - - Next review will be of a business that is still open. Promise!

Got the American Cheeseburger combo. Flavor was pretty good, the bun was a large sesame seed bun, and the meat itself was cooked well(not overdone, not undercooked)…but for some reason, I thought the meat was… um…extremely …soft…and…um…mushy? The fries were also mushy, but I’ve had limp fries before so that wasn’t a big deal. But…a mushy meat patty? I don’t really know how else to describe it. =/

I’ll take a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles to go ohhh and with a side of fries pllllllllllease! From the outside looking in you would never think this place has nice big juicy decent burgers but they do. I like the BBQ sauce they have in the diy pumps. My only gripe would be is that its kinda dirty. Not too crazy but busy during lunch hour… usually have to wait in line for 5 minutes to order. another 2 to get my order but always able to find a table. Mmmmm too bad I’ve already had my lunch because I’ve just talked myself into going there now UPDATE: As of November 2007 I’ve noticed they are CLOSED!

Yet another notch on my belt in my quest for the best cheeseburger in Manhattan. This place is yummy. Dirty? Yes. Full of creepy construction workers who stare(and quite possibly drool) at you while you’re getting ketchup? Yes. But the burgers were good, it’s wasn’t too expensive, and wasn’t crowded when I went during the lunch-rush. It’s a pain to get to, since it’s near Herald Square and full of tourists blocking your path. They have a variety of sauces for the burgers, but they weren’t that amazing. The fries were nice and crunchy and overall it’s a good little hideaway in tourist-filled Midtown.

So, let me first start by saying how much I hate this area of Manhattan. Being there makes me want to poke my eyeballs out. But my brother just got off the subway and he was hungry and had been travelling all day so we stopped here to eat. The service really deserves 2 stars because I had to tell the cashier what I wanted 3TIMES and she still got it wrong. However, I’m giving the place 3 stars overall because the food was FANTASTIC(once it was prepared correctly!) My burger, which was definitely comparable to a Shake Shack burger but without the wait, was SO good. I really believe that a great burger starts with the bun. The bun was toasted but soft and slightly buttery. The burger was grilled to perfection. The fries were also really good – not overcooked, but not undercooked. The ham/cheeseburgers will run you a little over $ 5, but I think you can get a meal(with fries and a soda) for around $ 7.50. Not bad. I’d be back here if I was in the area(torturing myself) because of the food, but I’d hope for better service.

When we got here, we were starving… raving mad from hunger. Both of us ordered southwest omelettes with ham, onions, cheese and bell peppers. The plate came with home fries, toast, and a strawberry. The omelette was common, and the potatoes lacked flavor. The display plate had two strawberries, but our plates had one cut in half to look like two. Cheap! The toast was awesome. But then again, when isn’t toast awesome. White bread and butter can’t be beat. No Atkins here! Oh, and the food was rather pricey. After we ate, we saw the same meals at other establishments for half the price.

If you can handle the dirty tables and overall unclean look of this joint, then I actually recommend it. I love the buns they use for their burgers! And their sauces are pretty awesome. I tend to take my family here on their«See NY as fast as possible» trips. It always hits the spot after a long day of subway hopping and crowds, but we don’t have to commit to a sit-down meal. I always stick to the basics, though. This is not a place to try and be creative. The Santa Fe burger is my favorite.

I love chocolate, but I couldn’t finish that junkie cookie! oh, damm well! don’t even think about to go there! don’t ! don’t! don’t! please~~
