This place was pretty good, and is one of the better delivery dinners I had while staying at a hotel during a show at the Javits. I was a little skeptical about ordering sushi without a picture menu, but the descriptions of the rolls I got were accurate, and they all ended up being really enjoyable for my personal tastes. Delivery was right on time(thanks, eat24), and the food was still a good temp even thought it was in the forties outside. I think I’m spoiled by the amazing sushi back home in CA which is also a little cheaper, but this was a great NY sushi experience for me. Would definitely order again.

Food is okay. Service is okay. The place is pretty small which only has four tables. Good for a quick eat. Not good for dates lol.

Underwhelming and heavy — if that’s what you like than you will love it here :-/! Tuna Tar Tar is served in a sauce that should never be served again… overall disappointing.

My go-to spot for carry out sushi. Fresh, affordable and good amounts of fish in every roll. Their lunch specials are a great bargain & checking in on Unilocal gets you 10% off your first bill. Service has always been reliable, give them a try.

Me and my friend were staying hotel at the across street. After reading reviews we decided to give it a try. We ordered The Sushi and Sashimi For two, it had sushi, sashimi combination one special roll and one California. Personally l prefer Sashimi to sushi but my friend is exact contrary. So the This great combination is great for us. The sushi was very fresh and delicious. Since we just at the across the street so the delivery was really fast. Will on order from Aya again the answer is yes. If I stay in the near hotel next time…

For their sushi lunch specials, 2 rolls is about $ 9 and 3 rolls is $ 12. I decided to go with place as many reviewers described their portions as generous/non-skimpy. I, however, beg to differ, as Maguro in Murray Hill still takes the cake for affordable lunch sushi. The rice to fish ratio here is good, but the little dabs of fish are just not satisfying enough for me. Also, they do not have a spicy salmon option — all their spicy salmon comes with the non-nutritious crunchy stuff.(Like spicy mayo is super nutritious…) I’m also pretty sure I ordered spicy tuna, but the spicy tuna also came with the crunch. I’m not a fan of the crunch. They sprinkle a light yuzu powder on the inside of the plain salmon roll, so that’s special.

No frills sushi shop with just 4 tables inside! Can’t say the fish on the chef’s counter looked all that fresh but I guess this place is conveniently located next to port authority for those traveling they have a lunch specials board but we came for dinner –naruto: you can choose your fish for this cucumber wrapped(riceless) sushi roll! nothing too special, but a great low carb option –shrimp tempura: MMmm this was prob my fav roll of the ones i tried –sweetheart: this one is for the tuna lovers, but i felt like it needed more flavor NOTE: 10% off your bill for the first Unilocal check in

It is my second time here with my boyfriend. I would give the food and service 5 stars. The food was delicious we had The Passion Lobster Roll , Amazing YellowTail roll, Spicy Kani Salad and miso soups. The rolls were amazingly yummy and fresh. The weren’t too bad and the food came out quickly. I would bring my friend here next time. Will keep coming back for sure

Sushi is expensive in general, but this place has pretty decent prices. The only«downside» is how small the place is but I’m not going to let that affect how many stars I’m giving.

Super duper good restaurant but it is kind of small only a few table. Me and my husband get the Sushi and Sashimi for two:))))))) which is great for people who want sushi, sashimi, the Dynamite roll(it is changeable) and the California roll for $ 52. I think it is very great deal because it is a great combination for everything. We also had the ikamaruyaki(it is whole BBQ squid). They have tasted sake as well. Overall, great deal for the sushi and friendly and nice staff. And will keep coming back …:)))))))))))))))))))))

I would give the food and service a 5! The ambiance(although this is a takeout place for sure), could be better. But because the food tasted great, the prices weren’t bad, it came out quickly, and the service was good, I’d say you should try it! Worth the money and I’d for sure come back if I was in the area.

I must say the location was good because it was across the street from my hotel but the quality of steamed fish was like something you buy from Costco’s and had a tinge of rubberiness from being microwaved first to thaw. The sushi is not up to par on quality. It was bad. I asked for Ama ebi and it wasn’t displayed in the sushi case on their sushi bar. It was frozen in the back and tiny skinny shrimp they thawed out and put on rice and wrapped it with nori. There are Chinese that run this spot but this is not a good spot to eat at for quality. The quality of food I could do better making it at home. Really disgusting so if you ask me? Don’t go to a place that doesn’t have anyone sitting in there already eating or if there is no line waiting to get in. It was not good at all. For $ 80 I ate disgusting food I could have bought at Costco’s myself and microwaved it in my hotel room!

I work right around the corner. I wanted to like this place. If I am not here tomorrow, it is because I died of food poisoning. The sashimi lunch was an a little pricey($ 15.25 inc tax) considering its tiny size(3 pieces of yellow tail, 3 red tuna, 3 salmon, 3 tiny white fish(i forget). The size is forgivable — the freshness isnt. It tasted as if it was about to turn. Why did I eat it? Because I was starving. They must marinate their ginger – (I hope so) — because it was brown — and not very tasty. Augh, never ever ever again.

Decided to make a pit stop for sushi on the way to a Broadway show. Aya, according to Unilocal, fit the bill(especially since it served alcohol AND there was a Unilocal check-in). I was a little surprised when we arrived. Only a few tables, the staff of 3 were shocked someone was actually coming to eat IN the restaurant(they were all furiously packing GrubHub and other online delivery orders). It took a while to get any kind of attention — which was terrible because we did not want to be late for our show. Things changed though when I tried to redeem the Unilocal check-in. Our food came out flying fast. The staff became all smiles. And we were encouraged to write a flattering review(to which I replied, I will write what I observe). Overall, the food was ok — nothing spectacular but not bad. The house sake came out warm(yay!). Importantly, the hustle from the staff ensured that we got to our show on time. Would I come back? Probably not.

For those days where I’m craving a maki roll combo for lunch at a decent price with decent taste, Aya Sushi is my go-to. Their pricing is very reasonable and the quality of the sushi is actually higher than average for other sushi restaurants at a similar price point. I’ve never actually been to the restaurant — just usually order on Seamless. Delivery time is reasonable, but is longer during lunch time on the weekday. Aya gives you the option of brown or white rice. The lunch roll combo comes with a very generous side of miso soup(or salad). Miso soup has both tofu and seaweed in it. I’ve had various basic rolls made with tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. Each has been quite satisfying and curbs my sushi craving each time. You actually get a decent amount of fish in each piece. My only gripe is that they barely put any rice on their rolls(see picture). For a quick and reasonably priced sushi lunch delivered in the Midtown area, Aya Sushi is a solid pick.

2.5 stars is a little more fair for this place because it definitely wasn’t worth the full three… Here’s why… I was being lazy and didn’t wanna walk all the way to my usual place on 9th ave so I found this on Unilocal and it has a 4! Unilocalers have never stared me wrong before… But today they definitely did. A 4 guys??? Really whose eating this sushi??? Your cat??? This place is super cramped and small… Room for two or one or take out only. Don’t bring a gang of friends here or you’ll have to sit on the counter… Ok and now the food… I ordered the lunch special and it was 3 rolls with soup or salad(not both) with 2 rolls(9 dollars) or 3 rolls(12 dollars) I got the spicy crunch salmon roll, tuna and mango, and the asparagus and avocado rolls. WHAT?! I was hungry. When the rolls arrived they looked so delicious and I was excited. As I ate them I noticed everything was extremely bland! Even the wasabi was bland!!! How does that happen!!? The rice was thin and hard. My crunchy salmon roll was drier than a desert. overall just not good at all which was such a let down. Next time I won’t be lazy and I’ll walk a little further for better food… Bottom Line: filling but not satisfying!

Muito boa comida. Lugar pequeno. Mais recomendado para delivery ou pick-up mas a comida é realmente boa, o lugar e bem limpo e o preço é justo. Chicken sesame com molho agri-doce e uma boa pedida. O preço também é razoável.

Ordered $ 90 worth of delivery thru Grub Hub. The food arrived very fast but was not fresh. Definitely could tell it was pre-packaged and left to sit in a fridge. Kani salad was dry and sushi was cut in strange ways. There were parts of the fish that shouldn’t have been included. It just wasn’t a clean cut. I took a photo to try and show it. Very disappointed. Would never order again.
