Don’t get me wrong. I can appreciate a B&J(#1) every once in awhile, but this location that once stood was downright awful. There was no difference when it came to the ice cream versus the store bought versions, but what ultimately kept this place from doing well was their terrible customer service. I feel for tourists sometimes. The stereotypical image of the rude New Yorker is never more evident in places like the Theatre District /Times Square, where a dime a dozen businesses from street spots to chain stores employ people who just simply woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Whether it was late night or in the morning, a lot of the Ben & Jerry folks could barely crack a smile with little to no greeting at all. Can we blame them? It’s probably not a glamorous gig, but regardless of the profession customer service goes a long way. It may be rinse and repeat for them, but for many visitors, its a lasting impression of lackadaisical ‘tude and uninspired work demeanor. I won’t miss the slow lines, the shoddy service, or the inflated Times Square prices. I will however, miss some of that cookie dough flavor. Wait, Duane Reed /CVS carry it? Well never mind then. __________ (#1) OH hello.

CLOSED! Across the street from the Westin hotel on 43rd and 8th, this place is now vacant. Though the ice cream sign with the two cones is still above the place.

Hey, you like being high? On the marijuana? Well so do the guys who work at this Ben & Jerry’s. Not only was there a really long line, but it didn’t move at all. And once I got up to the front — the guy helping me got my order wrong anyway. To add to my frustration out of 3 choices for ice cream I picked 2 were not available. To which I asked, «you guys do sell ice cream right?» They were not entirely sure. Hey Ben, hey Jerry, let’s put down the wavy gravy for a minute and fix this place. And by «wavy gravy» I mean, of course, the marijuana.

There was a pretty long line tonight, but service was quick and courteous! Selections of ice cream are a little limited BUT!!! they have fudge, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, and breakfast pastries! Never seen that at any other Ben and Jerrys! And they have a nice sitting area so i was able to enjoy my ice cream without it melting all over me… good deal!
