It’s average, I rounded the stars up. I come here more often than I care to admit because it’s convenient to my office and there’s never a line during lunch time. I’ve never been enticed to order their sushi, but I do get their bento boxes and ramen. It’s Japanese type fast food, I wouldn’t come here with higher expectations than someone going to McDonald’s. Nothing to write home about, good for lunch during a work day. The two kitchen ladies are always friendly.

All food here is not authentic. The dumplings came out of a bag you can at a Chinese super market. So are the lobster meat in your sushi and miso soup powder and everythinf else. Its on the pricy side also.

Ordered ramen for my wife and myself. Prices for sushi and Ramen is pretty reasonable. When the ramen was ready, we realized it had mushrooms and I’m allergic so we mentioned it and they very graciously prepared a fresh bowl. On the down side, the tables were not very clean but the kitchen are seemed ok. The soup for tonkotsu was weak but chashu was nice and thick although not marinated the way I like it. I’ve had way better ramen but I’m away from home and was hungry. I didn’t get to try any of the sushi. Maybe another time.

Worst everything. Disgrace to bento boxes and sushi rolls even at the takeout standard. On top of that, you DONOT use miso soup to make miso ramen. Uh uh Neva! And if you get your order wrong, fix it right away, don’t you dare try to push whatever you made wrong. Also if you are a takeout/eat in place, ASK for here or to go at the time of order not when you finish making with assumption of whether it’s to go or for here. I came here with LOWEST of expectation but they seem to surprised me still.

I’ve tried this place 2 times so far. They are easily accessible as a lunch option and never seem to be burdened by long lines. As much as I’d love for it to work out, I just haven’t been impressed. During my last visit I ordered sushi specialty roll: lobster roll. The rolls were immediately falling apart and seemed like someone added a bit too much rice. I just wasn’t impressed with the presentation or flavor. I did think it was cool that you can add a miso soup to any order for like $ 1. I then went on to feel as though it was only worth $ 1 as the worker extracted the soup from a machine by pushing a button(they should keep that out of the view of customers). Not impressed. There are other options in the close vicinity that are better.

This place gets two stars for being a satisfactory, imitation, fast food Japanese place. The place offers cheap hot dishes like ramen or item over rice(e.g. Teriyaki chicken over rice). I had the sushi and it is supermarket quality at best. If you want real sushi go to a Japanese restaurant or check out BentonCafe one block away for authentic Japanese food.

Was talking about trying out Bento this afternoon with one of my colleagues. Luckily, that decision fell through since we’re creatures of habit when it comes to lunch. This internal e-mail went out today at my office shortly after lunch: «A few consultants ordered lunch from Bento today and have become sick. While we are not sure yet if this is food poising and if Bento is actually the cause, we wanted to act on the side of caution and recommend that no one eat takeout food today from Bento. Thank you — and hope everyone has a nice weekend!» So… looks like we dodged a bullet. Edit: confirmed Scombroid Food Poisoning by the hospital.
