Bento Sushi NY Manhattan TriBeCa 6:30pm Saturday 5th March 2016 Two Stars I have been wanting to try this place. I had the Cali Shogun $ 11. It had 6 pieces of California roll, 2 pieces of ahi, Ebi, sake. The Rice was hard and packed to tight. The fish was decent. The California roll had Krab, cucumber, and avocado. All and all it was mediocre.

I came in here today at lunchtime to get some quick food. I noticed they had ramen but I figured that might take too long to eat. I saw they had some sushi and sashimi in to-go containers which would mean no wait. So i searched for one that I had stuff I was familiar with. Once I did that it did not take too long to pay my bill.

Tried the Vegetable Ramen; it was really good with lots of veggies and a good soup. Added a 8 piece veggie sushi platter and that was good! I will come back and next time just get 1 order of something because I am way too full! Deli!

Literally the worst sushi I have ever tried in my entire life. I got spicy tuna roll which is what I get anywhere I haven’t gone before given it’s an easy roll, very hard to mess it up. Welp they accomplished the impossible. The worst spicy tuna roll I have ever tried. So So SO disappointed.

Quick and easy lunch place, but honestly, the sushi is nothing to write home about, and a bit overpriced for what you’re getting. Ho Yip has good quality specialty sushi rolls, shockingly, and Zeytuna does really good sushi specials. Both these places are a bit cheaper than here. I’ve tried the ramen and the udon soups as well. Good flavor, but tiny portions. That said, I’ll probably be back here every once in awhile if I need something quick and small.

Quick and easy lunch spot. The sushi is good and pretty well priced. The staff isn’t all that friendly and don’t speak English very well so if you have a question it may be a little complicated to communicate if you only speak English.

I work on this block, and have ended up here for lunch when very rushed. Price is mediocre for sushi(in my opinion) since there are at least five legit sushi joints you can go to in the area and get a «salmon avocado» roll for $ 5, versus the $ 8 they charge — or a 3 roll lunch combo for $ 13.There’s a decent variety of sushi in terms of options and sizes, and vegetarian selection is also decent. A few brown rice options, too. There’s also udon, ramen, and bento style meat over rice dishes. The line goes fast. The service isn’t great, and I wouldn’t plan to eat here because there’s not usually space available. I’ve had issues every time I’ve come here, which now totals three times. I got sushi on two of those occasions; the first, the salmon was dry and very thin, and the rice was hard. The second time, I paid with a card, and I was charged three additional times and their system didn’t refund the additional charges for over 3 weeks. It’s not like I kept my receipt and was going to ask someone in the store to address the issue, so I called my bank and the company fixed the issue… eventually. The last time I came here, it took them 15 minutes to make my udon, and 6 people who ordered hot food(udon, ramen, bento… etc) got their food before I did. And they made it wrong. They put kimchi when I asked for vegetarian(there is a kimchi option) so yet again, disappointed. If you want better sushi I suggest going to Zuytuna, which is two blocks away off of Maiden Lane. They have a large, high quality, cafeteria downstairs, and the sushi has always been great — and quick. They just opened a ramen and udon bar, and though I haven’t had it I’d bet it’s MUCH better.

Sushi n noodle soups are good here. Ramen is not the same as freshly made but it passes in flavor for normal standards.

Pretty decent place for a quick, on the go bite. Food is premade in boxes. I did not have noodles but they looked pretty good. Smelled good. Pieces of sushi are a bit on the small side but overall pretty tasty. The dining room is super small and tight. I’d hate to see what would happen if there was a fire. Close to Century 21 and the Subway. Prices are a bit high(even for NYC).

It’s definitely a carry-out place. The food is mostly already prepared here. The bento boxes have everything but the main protein which you can select and they’ll cook it for you. It makes it a pretty quick grab and go when you’re busy. I tried the seafood udon which had a stick of imitation crab meat cut in 2 and 3 shrimps for $ 8. It was good for being a quick grab and go, but not amazing like an actual sit down restaurant.

As I don’t eat fish, I typically don’t get sushi except for when I can find a veggie roll or some other sushi that is interesting, yet doesn’t contain seafood. They had some veggie rolls in a to go container and I picked up one. It was good, but there were so many other things to order in the restaurant and with a lack of a menu, I didn’t know what else I could get. Seemed a little odd to me. Wide variety of things already made for the quick«grab-and-go» stuff, I just wish I had an idea of what they were cooking fresh as I may have stayed and ordered more.

I was here for lunch. Fast service, small space, right price. It was raining so I had to eat inside. We were all really to close one to another, I felt a claustrophobic sensation while eating.

This fast food sushi has greatly changed over the years. I remember quality of sushi and numerous options of Udon noodles and since renovation it focused on presentation and overall interior look of the business. Quality, however, remain unchanged as well as the overall staff attitude. Overpriced as well.

Great place for lunch. I come here when I want something warm & soupy for lunch. UDON The soup is always hot & the noodles are always chewy. It kind of tastes like the instant udon that you can find in the supermarket, but I don’t mind because there is no supermarket in my office. I usually get the beef which is pretty good. Sometimes it’s a bit oily though. I’ve also gotten the chicken one, but I prefer the beef. This is the perfect lunch for a cold rainy day. It’ll warm you right up! *Don’t forget to get a loyalty card! After a certain amount of visits you get a free udon!

Decent lunch specials and fast food sushi, the best part is that they have a loyalty system, after 10 visits you get a free bowl or sushi. Overall I enjoyed the spicy California spring roll and the shrimp tempura roll. I’ll probably go back, but only if it’s something quick. It’s very congested in there !!!

The noodle soup is so terrible I never eat like that, I mean I am a asion pepole, but the noodle not well enough to cook and not soft enough and the top meats is cold and hard to eat, and the tast is so bad and awful. If you want to eat some noodle soup you may better to buy cup noodle at secen eleven store, just $ 2 not $ 10 as the cost here. Never never to eat here, trust me, you will regret if you still want to try. And it is weird for some staffs they are not really to like make the professional food for you.

Convenient place to grab a quick lunch especially because it’s on the corner of my office and I love sushi. It is a grab and go type of place with only a few seats. Gets pretty busy during lunch and is very small so I would have no interest in eating in there. They have pre-made sushi boxes and have a good variety. It is a little pricier than I would like. A substantial box that I would find filling is about $ 13. I have to say it is very fresh! Lady at the register is fast moving so line goes quick and she is very friendly.

Waste.Of.Money. I have always passed this place and thought to myself… hmm…sushi on the go? Can’t be «great» sushi but it must be decent, right? Wrong. This little spot on Broadway right in the hustle & bustle is always busy. It looks very modern from the outside and the photos flashing before your eyes of gorgeous sushi surely can make anyones mouth water. I got in line during lunch and at the end of the line there is a half empty box with a tiny small salad and 4 pieces of a California roll. I opted for the chicken curry and when I proceeded to tell the person behind the counter that the amount of curry he was adding to my chicken was«just enough» he proceeded to add more and did not hear a word I was saying(and I tend to speak up… as in I am a loudmouth). The employees were talking amongst themselves like crazy. What the heck do these people have to talk about? It’s lunch hour and it’s busy. This isn’t TMZ headquarters! The California roll was meh. To be honest I expected that. The chicken curry however was a huge let down. I looked at the chicken and honestly did not want to eat it. It did not look appealing at the very least so I ended up just eating the rice that came underneath the chicken with the curry sauce. Ugh. Total let down. This place is so close to me. I would be a frequent sushi customer if they got their act together.

I got a lobster roll and nigiri combo. The taste was OK, but there was nothing remarkable about the lobster. And the lobster roll could have used more seasoning; good sushi should not require any use of additional soy sauce. The tuna nigiri looked a little unfresh but tasted alright. 2.5 stars

Some of the worst sushi I’ve had to date at a place that’s apparently supposed to specialize in Japanese cuisine… even if it is take-out. I got the salmon samurai combo and it was basically inedible. Chewy salmon, over-ripe avocados in the roll, and pasty and low quality wasabi. One of the most disappointing lunch experiences I’ve had since I begun working in FiDi. The service was equally as intolerable – I had to ASK the cashier to bag my food, and he rushed my checkout experience. Impersonal experience accompanied by horrid food is the perfect recipe for a one star Unilocal review. (FYI, your logo should not be representative of a piece of sushi if you can’t import at least some grocery quality fish.)
