SUPER clean!!! SUPER-nice employees + owners! It’s family-owned businesses like Best Health that NY’ers need to support, so, hey UES neighbors, try this only«Luxe Bodega» out!

I’ve been living on the UES for about 6 – 7 months now, just a block or so from this place, and it is far and away the best deli/bodega I’ve come across not only in the neighborhood, but probably in my year in this city. Their sandwiches are excellent — I can’t recommend the Park Special and the Times Square enough — and all reasonably priced between $ 5 – 7. And, if you frequent the place(like I do), you can pick up a sandwich punch card that gives you a free sandwich after you buy nine. They have an excellent grocery selection, including an enormous amount of gluten-free options, for those who are Celiac or have a gluten intolerance. The beer selection here is worlds better than your standard bodega(they typically even have a few GF options as well), and they have some really good prices on blocks of cheese also. But the friendly staff is probably the best part about Best Health. The staff greets me when I come in, engages in friendly conversation when I check out(particularly the younger woman who runs the register) and I can tell that I’m far from the only regular with whom they are so kind. Even if you’ve never been, however, the staff seems to be friendly with everyone. I can’t recommend the place enough.

Great local deli that I frequent for breakfast almost every day of the week, having just recently moved to Yorkville. Note, there are 2 entrances, one along 1st Avenue and the other on the side of 74th Street. They accept credit cards, with a low minimum of 7 $. Best Health’s hot & cold deli section is top notch, especially if they carry Boar’s Head. I typically get the breakfast special of Taylor ham, 1 egg, and cheese on a roll and this gets even better because it includes a small coffee. You’re saving about a buck if you’re an individual that typically gets street cart coffee. Still extra money in your pocket. This is a Korean owned«bodega type» shop and it looks like it’s a mother and daughter team. They are super friendly. I always get the«Are you Korean» when I bust out my noob Korean skills in saying«Thank you» or «How are you doing?». All about the family businesses. Don’t go to Starbucks for any breakfast items as it’s way overpriced and tastes nothing like home cooked. There’s a whole refrigerator of any type of yoghourt you can imagine, but I usually get Chobani as I’m used to convenient store shopping at Duane Reade. Plenty of beer, sodas and Vitamin Water that are already chilled for you. Warm soda or anything carbonated tastes nasty in my opinion. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by. This spot is on my rotation list as long as I’m living up in these neck of the woods.

Totally agree that the staff are awesome, Luis & Co. Have been going there for at least 5 years. Though when I went in tonight, the owner/lady accused me of having a fake twenty dollar bill. Laughable, though guess I missed my calling. Market Deli, thanks for taking my twenty dollars…

What a bodega! Fantastic breakfast sandwiches and a wide variety of food items. It’s deluxe bodega, certainly not a snooty gourmet deli. Good prices and great ice cream selection. Best option for what you crave when the supermarkets shut down. Fantastic sandwich counter. Friendly staff.
