This place is a hit or a miss. The food over all is pretty good, however service is really bad. The guys are kind of rude. They don’t listen very well either. At times my order was also wrong, would bring it back and something is missing. I do have to say that there’re hit food for lunch is pretty good normally. I also feel that they kinda just charge what they want sometimes. I would order the same thing from on day to the next and the price would be different for the same food. That really annoys me a lot. Too bad not many other hot food spots around that’s good!

Nothing too special. Hero was fine, not many toppings. Average price.

Friendly bodega and deli — with great coffee and a big variety of bottled drinks. I’m a fan.

Came here with my sister for a quick breakfast before heading to the convention center. Average prices, not bad. We got two bagels, one with lox. The bagels weren’t the best, definetely should ask for them toasted. They give you enough lox on one bagel to share! Quick, friendly service.

Where do I begin with this place… The griminess or the angry people that work there. A week into moving in the neighborhood and I make a quick stop for some snacks and beers. Fortunately, I only purchased packaged items. I wouldn’t think twice about eating anything this place has to serve. The food looks grotesque. As I gather my items and make my way to the counter, a man with a smug look on his face and an ill attitude yells, «you got I’d?». I mean I understand there doing their job by requesting the id which btw I’m well over the age, but is it necessary to yell before you can even reach the counter? Whatever, I brush it off. I pay for the over priced beers($ 15 for 6 long necks); take my things and leave with disgust. If you dont want to pay for over priced beverages and snacks, and disgusting food, avoid this place at all cost. There’s a Duane read right down the block on 34th.

They’ve always been there for me. Open 24⁄7 and have cans of soda for only $ 1.00, including a variety of diet options that aren’t typically found in diet outside of purchasing bulk quantities.

This place is pretty terrible. Actually, its very very terrible. Service was slow the times I went. Food was pretty bad, the bread is stale, the meat is stringy, and the people working there were actually just kind of mean and disrespectful. Don’t go here, seriously. There’s a better deli/grocery store down the street at 36th and 9th avenue, and another deli at 34th and 10th avenue. Food is also overpriced. The two other delis I mentioned are cheaper(around 4 to 5 bucks per sandwich) and the quality is a little better(although still mediocre). Again, definitely do not go here. I don’t normally take such a harsh view of restaurants/delis, but the combination of bad food, high prices, bad service and disrespectful people provides good enough reason to steer very clear of this«restaurant.»

I stopped in while waiting for some friends to get for a movie, and had a drink and a cheese slice. It’s a small, simple deli, and the cheese slice was passable. They had a much larger menu that may have been better than the slice I had, but there’s just so many better places to grab food I think.

This deli has a pretty decent selection of heroes and sandwiches at good prices. But what is most exciting is the roti experiment that just started here. The staff explained they are testing out serving roti with various curried dishes on Wednesdays and Fridays. I made sure to call ahead to ensure the roti would be offered like the staff suggested. I went for the curried goat, go hard or go home right? My coworkers tried the kingfish and the chicken. Each came with ample roti bread. The portions were big, but definitely not enough to have any leftovers. The goat and fish were $ 10 and $ 10.50 respectively and the chicken was $ 8.50. Ten dollars is a little more than my cheap self likes to spend on lunch, but its a luxury to have something different in these parts. The kingfish and chicken were prepared in the same curry; the fish worked well with the curry flavors but was a bit too fishy for me, the chicken is the most economical way to go, since there isn’t too much of a difference between it and the goat. I was very happy with the curried goat, it was tender enough to barely need a knife and the curry sauce and chickpeas had garlic and buttery undertones. Pretty awesome for a deli, and even more awesome for this neighborhood.
