Waiter was sort of rude. 80 dollar bill and he treated us like we should have spent more

Great service. Good pasta. A very good and safe option for lunch and dinner. A bit expensive($ 80 + tips for 2 spaghetti pomodoro, 2 glasses of wine and a bottle of water).

I occasionally order from here for dinner, and I’m a fan of their seafood: Salmone Alla Griglia — Grilled Atlantic salmon w/red lentils and spinach in white wine mustard sauce. It was amazingly fresh, and pairs well with the sides. Branzino Alla Griglia — Grilled Sea Bass in limocello sauce w/quinoa, roasted peppers, asparagus, and red onion. Fresh, but I prefer the salmon. If you’re looking for a light dinner, the portion sizes are just right.

I went to this place again and it was still a good but it was disappointing compared as my previous visit. I ordered a grilled chicken with spinach, the chicken turned out to be amazing it was pounded so thing they rolled it up, and the spinach needed some salt but was good. What took away from this experience was the loud football game in the background and the fans yelling at the tv. For such a classy and expensive place the last thing I want to be hearing is football game.

We stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. We are so glad we took a chance on Bistro Milano! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely add Bistro Milano to our must visit list next time we are in town!

very good italian food outdoor tables were available but we opted for inside table. service was friendly and attentive. they have a good menu with many choices but we were in mood for pasta so wife had ear-shaped pasta with pork, broccoli rabe and sundried tomatoes and I had lasagna. they do cook on the salty side and portions were small for value but it is manhattan dining. may consider dining here again.

Seafood pasta is loaded with a good variety of seafood. Good value. High quality balsamic vinegar and olive oil on the table with a variety of fresh bread.

Had a nice lazy Sunday lunch here. Not too crowded. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Very friendly service. Great bread and olive oil. Wonderful gazpacho, with a touch of crab that worked surprisingly well. A very nice«red and green» pizza. I’d recommend it any day.

You know what, the first time I went to Bistro Milano, was beyond amazing. I had the ravioli with pumpkin and it AWESOME. Great service too, very welcoming. But on my next visit, it wasn’t that good. NOTEVENCLOSE. I got the moon-shaped ravioli, split it with my mom and we got food poisoning. Where as my uncle, who didn’t eat a single bite of the ravioli seems perfectly fine. And the service wasn’t as good as my first visit. So. Yea.

Homemade pasta, and Ben-Hur. Who could ask for more. The food is very good and the head waiter is a bundle of energy and fun.

Started the meal with delicious house bread dipped in balsamic and olive oil. I ordered a house specialty called Raviolo Di Zucca which was ravioli filled with pumpkin and mascarpone cheese in butter and truffle oil. It was slightly sweet and I throughly enjoyed it. Two others in my party had the Lasagna Emiliana. A traditional rich and meaty lasagna that they both gave top marks. Crème Brulee for dessert, barely sweet, made with Graham’s 20 year old tawny port, was a perfect accent to our meal. We finished with a delightful moscato D’Asti dessert wine and we were fat and happy. Delicious food in a charming outdoor setting on a beautiful summer night. We couldn’t have found a better place! Our waiter Ben Hur was fabulous and by the time we left we felt like old friends. Wish we were in town a bit longer so we could make it back.

Excellent food. Had the salmon and was cooked perfectly. Fried calamari was delicious as well. Excellent service, however, it was a bit slow for lunch. Great place for a business meeting.

Good food, excellent service, but not for everyone. While I completely understand that some folks give this place 4 and 5 stars I just don’t see it that way. The food is quite good and very authentic, that said authentic isn’t always a complement. For those who have visited Italy you know that authentic Italian food has«subtle» flavors(some might say bland). This restaurant is true to that tradition. While I enjoyed my meal, as did my wife and kids, this is not Olive Garden. You are expected to chew your food and enjoy the subtle flavors of the sauce and the pasta(if that is what you choose to get as I did). The restaurant is lovely and the service is quite good so if you like authentic Italian food and are not afraid to pay NYC prices this is the place for you.

Stopped in for a dessert treat at the bar. From the moment we stopped to look at the menu until we departed, the friendly approach and courtesy won us over. EVERYONE was cheerful and pleasant. The manager gave us a little treat — thank you — and the bartender woman quietly took care of our every wish before we asked. Plus the chocolate dessert was yummy and the coffee smooth. Atmosphere was lively in and outside. I struggle to find a place to eat in this area and I look forward to returning for a full meal. Only frustration was it didn’t come up on google maps when we were looking for restaurant options/restaurants with outdoor seating. And when I tried to find it to share with a friend I still couldn’t find it. Had to look at the receipt to recall the name. Already sent someone there tonight. Thanks to the staff for making us feel so welcome!

I had the mint and lamb pasta and I’ll have to come back for it. I rarely find a dish I like this much. The rest of the people in the table seemed to like their dishes too, but I highly recommend the mint and lamb pasta.

Just happen to find this place last night. We were looking for Italian food in the area and went to a place near by only to find out the wait is 1.5 hrs so we strolled over to Bistro Milano and was blow away by the warm greetings. Not to mention it was a kid friendly environment. The staff was more than friendly. Excellent service. Now the food, wow it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed his/her dish. My two year old and four year old enjoyed their pizza that was specially made for them. The food was great and the service was more than great. Would highly recommend, especially to family with kids.

ABSOLUTELYAMAZINGPREFIXMENU! I eat out more than the average foodie. Honestly the best prefix lunch I have ever had. Tuna tartar was perfect, truffle and pumpkin ravioli, bucatini with pancetta was unbelievable, marinated steak excellent! Service was spot on, they knew how to make our party feel relaxed yet a priority. The manager Eric was attentive and recommended an impeccable wine. For me, bistro raises the bar, a real standout in the midtown lunch scene!

The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because of the service. The waiter started out very helpful but only checked on us once during the meal when our food first arrived. After finishing and the busser cleared the table, we sat there for 15 minutes waiting for him. He never asked if we wanted another beer, let alone water. The food was ok. The lasagna was decent and the chicken parm was very good. It does not come with pasta, but you will not need it! The cutlet is the size of a small pizza! The location was wonderful and close to Broadway for dinner after a show. Quaint little place with relaxing atmosphere.

Same great outdoor atmosphere. RIGATONIBOLOGNESE: We both had the rigatoni alla bolognese. It was very good but needed more sauce. Plus, I’m not Italian, nor am I an expert on Italian food… So I googled«rigatoni». It looked like penne, so I thought I’d be fine with it, but each noodle was about 1.5″ x 1.5″ and very thick. I think Penne would’ve been more tender. All that said, I’d order it again, with extra sauce and maybe regular spaghetti noodles. DESSERT: We shared the chocolate and fruit fondue. It is both white and milk chocolate in the same dish side by side. I was concerned that it was not going to be enough chocolate for all the fruit, but it was plenty, with chocolate left over.

Excellent restaurant italien…

I don’t know why we keep coming here. This is your stereotypical garden variety Midtown Italian that has no distinguishing features and the food is also straight down the middle of the road. I guess the outdoor seating can be an attraction for those who want to bake themselves in the sun. We used to live across the street so this used to be the lazy choice if we did not want to go beyond our immediate neighborhood, and to be fair compared to the other selections up an down the street in a five-block radius this one is probably modestly above average. That said the relative comparison versus other under performers does not a good destination restaurant make and Milano is definitely not somewhere you think about going if you happen to be more than 2 blocks away. The service however is very efficient and courteous, and the staff make sure that you are well taken care of, that in my mind helped to prop up the rating a bit. Also on the menu, they make sure to highlight that the pasta is made fresh on the premises — which if I take at face value places this place above the run of the mill place slinging prefab out-of-the-box pasta.
