We held the rehearsal dinner for our wedding at the private dining room in the basement of BLT Prime in May, 2016. Stacey helped us plan our event, and was extremely friendly, responsive, and professional throughout the planning process and the event itself. We hosted 50 guests for a family-style three-course dinner. The room was the perfect size to make the event feel intimate without being overly crowded. Each course was delicious — I would especially recommend the Caesar salad and tuna tartar. The serving staff and bar tenders was wonderful. We also used the projector screen to show a photo montage throughout the event, which was a lovely touch, and the staff happily helped us to set it up before guests arrived. We could not have been happier with our choice, and would recommend this space to anyone planning this size dinner!

Ordered the waygu skirt steak. It came presliced which is odd for a shirt steak. It was also cold and the slicing was done with the grain as opposed to against the grain which is the proper way to slice a skirt. Made for a cold, tough cut of meat. The soft shell crab was very good as was the tuna tartare. Won’t be heading back with all the other steak house options.

A handsome boy told me to meet him at Penn Station and dress to impress, as our second date destination was going to be a surprise. One short cab ride later we’re standing in front of BLT Prime, his father’s favorite restaurant. It absolutely did not disappoint. Popovers — Not sure what all the hype is about. Honestly, I found them dry and bland. They come with a little recipe card to take home, in case you want to try your hand at baking some. Wines — We had four glasses of the choice malbec from our server, as there were two of them on the wine list. Very rich, deep, and spiced. Tuna Tartare — Fantastic pairing with the avocado, I could have had another serving. 32 oz. Porterhouse for Two — This 28-day dry-aged prime steak was definitely the star of the night. So much flavor! And cooked perfectly to medium rare. Every single bite was just as amazing as the last. Sides — The truffled mashed potatoes are light, creamy, melt-in-your mouth goodness! And the hen over woods mushrooms had an interesting, crispy texture without being overly greasy. Not going to lie, nothing here is cheap. But you get what you pay for — a dining experience reserved for special occasions with excellent food, upscale atmosphere, and quality service. If his intention was impressing me enough to secure a third date, he succeeded.

I went to BLT Prime this past Saturday to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. It’s now Monday and I’m still drooling over the amazing food! The signature popovers were so good! I could have devoured the entire thing but wanted to save room for my dinner. I had the Short Ribs(like butter) and Lobster(fresh!). My boyfriend has the Cowboy steak. A huge serving and cooked perfectly to his order. The Truffle Mashed Potatoes were to die for. Service was extremely friendly and prompt. Our waitress, Natalie was great. I had a wonderful time at BLT Prime and can’t wait to go again!

I am not sure if the food is better than BLT Steak… but I have to say the crowd is more laid back. First off, the crowd was younger and dressed more casual. People were actually drinking heavy by the bar and made me feel more comfortable ordering three cocktails at once(Long day). The Filet mignon and asparagus tasted good but I cared more getting my buzz than eating. With that said, the Harvest Moon woke me, the Yellow Sub was a tad bit strong and the French 75 put me on my ass. To sober a bit, order a draft beer. Overall great place to go.

Our reservations were for 7:30pm. We got here around 6:30 and had a drink at the bar. It was pretty quiet when we arrived, less crowded than I think we were expecting for a Friday night. I had the grapefruit margarita which was very tasty. We were seated a little early and started with a bottle of wine and the tuna tartare — this was delicious, very fresh and tasty. The bread they give you to start is also soooo good. The décor is really beautiful in here. I was happy we sat down before the sunset because the ceiling is all windows so it feels very light and open. I ordered my filet medium and it was a little bit dry… my friend had his medium rare and it was definitely much tastier. We ordered the creamed spinach and truffled mashed potatoes for our sides. They were both delicious. I think I enjoy the sides at steakhouses more than I enjoy the actual steak anyway, so the sides made up for my steak not being as good as I expected. I think there are better steakhouses at similar price points throughout Manhattan, so I don’t know if I’ll be back anytime soon. But I was really pleased with the overall experience!

Love this place!!! Just watch out for the large bridge and tunnel crowd mixed with heavy drinking. It can get very loud and also the NJ element is strong in this place. The food is excellent and the service spectacular. Just don’t expect the clientele to be dressed as they should be. Wish a dress code was unforced for some unsavory characters.

My experience here was great. The popover was delish. The champagne was some of the best ive had. Appetizer was really good, we ordered bacon and prawns. not sure if thats exaclty what it was, i went to the bathroom and my fiancé had already ordered. But the watercress and the salad dressing was a really good pairing. I ordered the chicken entrée, which was too good to finish. My fiancé ordered steak thag was good as well. The service was really fast… not a long wait for food. They servers and the whole team really took great care of us. i hope to return again. a

Service was great. Food was great. Drinks were great. I will be back because I appreciate greatness! My dinner date & I both started with the crab cake, which was very fresh. For our entrees we both had the skirt steak cooked medium(he had copycat syndrome that evening). He had asparagus and I, creamed spinach. I ordered béarnaise sauce, however I didn’t even touch it. The sauce that accompanied the steak was so damn good… my God! We both had the BLT punch. def gave a «punch». For dessert we shared the carrot cake… it melted in my mouth. Its a bit pricey, but worth it. Oh my… how could I forget the popovers? Delish! I will def be back!!!

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner this past weekend. This place is TOPNOTCH! Everything from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out was outstanding. From the food to the service to the hospitality. Food: Complementary pâté with toast — this was my first time trying pâté and it was delicious! Complementary bread: Gruyère popovers — still craving them! Apps: tuna tartare & shrimp cocktail — best tuna tartare I’ve ever had. Shrimp were beyond«jumbo»! Entrees: we each had the cowboy ribeye with bone marrow. Cooked to perfection and beyond flavorful! Sides: creamed spinach(delishhh) and fries(very good!) Dessert: mini donuts with coffee ice cream and banana bread pudding a la mode — Sooooo GOOD! Complementary brownie bites — decadent! Very rich! Service was impeccable from our waiter to the bus boys to the bartender and the host and hostess. Ambiance was lovely! Not too loud like most steak houses. Overall — My new favorite steak house by farrrr!

I swear years later i still have dreams of this place. We came here to celebrate our anniversary many moons ago and the steak was by far the best i have ever had! It was pushing our budget but worth every bite. Waiting to save up and come back again.

Party of 5. Ordered 2 porterhouse steaks and 4 filet mignon steaks. All requested to be medium well. And they even had the medium well pokey thingies. I know the waiter got our order correct. Kitchen fucked up. Half the steaks came back well done. That’s why the 1 star. That sort of thing is unforgivable.

Went for V day on Saturday. Nice ambience and vibe. We ordered the three(they only have three) different kinds of oysters as appetizer. They were ok considering it is $ 20 for 6. then the steak for two which is the 36 day dry aged tomahawk. It came with bone marrow :) The waitress mentioned that the portion is slightly small for two but I thought it was fine since I don’t eat regular american size. The dessert menu did not look interesting enough for me to order. I heard their tuna tartare is amazing and they have a new surf option. I ordered a virgin cocktail with passion fruit and white cranberry, which I liked. Bf had a scotch(ew? lol) The steak was good but I didn’t think it was one of the best steakhouse around. Not a bad choice though.

KenScale: 8.0÷10 I used to be a hardcore carnivore but now my diet has become a lot more varied and I can go to any restaurants that have good food, whether they serve meat, seafood or vegetables. That also means I don’t go to steakhouses as much as I used even though New York certainly isn’t short on steakhouses in the city. The BLT franchise from ESquared Hospitality group has long been on my radar, but they always lagged behind in my hit list given that there are so many other places that I want to check out. I recently received a surprise gift card from my client at work and a close friend visiting from out of town wanted to have a steak dinner, so I figured this is the perfect opportunity to check out BLT Prime in Gramercy area. Overall, I was pleased with the quality of steak at the restaurant. A good steakhouse always has a nice bacon dish(like Peter Luger or Wolfgang’s). The one that I had at BLT Prime, which came with grilled prawns, wasn’t as impressive. I thought the bacon wasn’t as tender as I expected, and there was nothing that I could remember about this dish. On the other hand, I thought both steak dishes we ordered(NY strip and filet mignon) were quite nice. They were properly seasoned(i.e. no overuse of salt) and cooked more or less perfect medium rare. I really enjoyed the texture of the dishes, and the side dishes of creamed spinach and truffle mashed potatoes certainly helped enhance the experience. I was beyond full after a period of intense devouring of the meats but it was really hard to stop! Ice cream and sorbet(we tried banana ice cream as well as strawberry and lemon sorbet) helped me sooth the meaty sensation in my mouth a bit. The restaurant has a bit more modern vibe than other traditional steakhouses, with a lot of young crowd instead of gentlemen in suits that you would typically associate steakhouses with. Getting a reservation wasn’t that difficult, although the restaurant was nearly fully packed throughout the course of our meal. BLT Prime has a full bar, with extensive wine selection(I wish they could’ve stocked a little more affordable wine bottles). I wouldn’t say it is the best steakhouse in the city, but BLT Prime more or less delivers if you have a huge craving for steaks.

Good neighbourhood. Street parking after 6 is not too hard. The service was quick and friendly. The food was great. They have a downstairs which can get noisy with large groups. The upstairs is a bit more cosy. The drinks were pricey, Not worth the cost.

YAAAAAAAAAASSSBISHHH! *Rihanna voice* Wow! What a good time BLT Prime was! I loved this place. Everything I had was exceptional. I made reservations and as soon as I stepped in, I was immediately seated. Customer service was efficient and timely just the way I like it. My meal was PERFECTION! Legit one of the best wedge salads I’ve ever had(#SaladQueen here). My crab cakes were amazing! My mac-n-cheese was flavorful! My mom ordered the short ribs and lobster and WOW! Phenomenal! Dessert was also great. I loved the little donuts and chocolate sauce! Everything was really, really fabulous. I would def come back when I’m in NYC again!

BLT Prime is my first and hands-down favorite steakhouse in NYC! I’ve been to several steakhouses in New York and keep crawling back to BLT… on special occasions! The food is amazing from beginning to end! You’ll start with complimentary popover bread(the yummiest bread I’ve ever tasted!) and duck liver pâté. The bread comes hot and moist– so delicious! My personal favorites off the menu are: — Grilled Double-Cut Smoked Bacon– a must at any steakhouse — Wasabi mashed potatoes — Filet Mignon– my go-to; I like my meat lean — Porterhouse for 2(or 3!) — you’ll get different cuts of beef along with the bone marrow I’ve been here on dates, double-dates, group celebrations– it’s a great place to eat for any occasion. Make sure to wear a loose outfit to hide your tummy– you’ll be super full after :)

Two Words: Expense Account. I’m always interested in convincing other people to pay for my food whenever possible, but some places it makes a little more sense. BLT Prime is foremost among these fine places, and the food is as rich as the people you hope are buying it for you. I don’t believe I’ve had anything I didn’t like, but of particular note are the tuna tartare, the popovers(if only for the presentation and the fact that you can slather them in butter), the chicken liver pâté, the cowboy ribeye, and the carrot cake. If you can have all that for a meal and still be sad, there’s no hope for you.

Outstanding portions great service, incredible popover bread to start, ok steak and sides so why only 3 stars? Loud, cacophonous room makes it hard to think let alone hear what your companions are saying. It’s back to keen’s, double eagle or any number of adequate steak spots for me where you don’t leave with your ears ringing badly.

Reservations only. This low key, high priced steakhouse is perfect for informal meetings and group outings. I joined my girlfriends for ladies steak night out. Our night was almost ruined by a super rude group of diners but thanks to our amazing waiters, they saved the outing. The steaks(we ordered two Cowboy ribeyes and one Porterhouse for two) were Delicious. The rib eye was melt-in-your mouth tender. The famous popovers were just as wonderful as promised. Thanks Unilocalers! This is one of my favorite parts of the meal. You get a popover, as big as your head. Pull it apart to find a crispy, savory, cheesy top and crunchy bottom. AND– they give you one to take home. I told my honey, ‘You don’t need to go to BLT. You got to taste the best item on their menu.‘ Like I said, Great service, amazing waiters. They were so attentive. When a neighboring diner walked downstairs in disgust, after giving us a dirty look, the waiters reassured us.

Alright, I didn’t know about the popovers before coming here, but then I saw that every Unilocal review mentioned them. And yes, they are as amazing as they’re made out to be. First of all, any place that serves bread with pâté is guaranteed to be fancy(also, pricey). Came here with a group of 10 for work, and they gave us this semi-private room on the side, which was perfect for conversation. They have a very, very extensive wine menu, and our waiter was able to make some good off-the-menu recommendations. Throughout the night, we had the 2010 Laird Family Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2009 Heitz Cellar St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon. One of my coworkers used to work in wine, so she knew the good shit. I liked both. The Heitz Cellar was a little more tart, and I liked the Laird Family Estate better. The popovers were amazing. I could’ve just eaten those all night. They also give you a little card with the recipe so you can try it at home, which is a nice touch. You could make a BLT with the popovers and the grilled bacon(thick cut, with parsley and sherry vinaigrette… AMAZING). Also shared some vegetable sides. The grilled asparagus was just okay. The truffled mashed potatoes were good, but when are truffles not? Also had the stuffed mushroom caps which were fine. For my main, I went with the 28-day dry aged Kansas City bone-in strip(20 oz at $ 57). For some reason they pre-cut it for me. Did I have too much to drink? Anyway, I found it weird. But I also found it so, so tasty. Perfectly cooked medium rare. The waiter recommended their peppercorn sauce, which was a great choice. My coworker ordered the Cowboy and wasn’t a fan of bone marrow(I know, right?) so I got to have that too. As good as bone marrow gets. Also had a couple of glasses of whiskey because why not? What’s weird is even if you ask for whiskey on the rocks, they give you a separate glass of ice on the side. They were tiny ice chips, so maybe that’s why. Never seen any other place do that when you specifically ask for your drink on the rocks, but whatever. They need to get some big cubes. But their whiskey selection was good. Had a Booker’s 8 year and a Glenfiddich 15 year. Our server also recommended Monkey Shoulder whiskey, which I’d never heard of before. He gave us a try, and it was a nice blend. All in all, if you’re looking for a nice dinner in the Gramercy/Flatiron area, budget isn’t a problem, and there are none of those pesky vegetarians in your group, definitely throw BLT Prime in the running.

I have been on a recent kick to go to more well known steakhouses since I eat nothing but sushi. The restaurant is upscale yet still casual and inviting. I thought the restaurant was a lot more open than I expected, it was really relaxed. The service was excellent, the waiters were all very polite and attentive. My dining companion and I were both very impressed with the service. So the restaurant was recommended by a few friends who really enjoyed their meal here, I did enjoy my meal but it didn’t blow me away. I also felt uncomfortable after the meal from the amount of grease from the dinner. Also, the steak portions are giganto. The food: Chicken liver pâté– This was a nice freebie, I enjoyed the flavor of the pâté, it was wonderfully creamy and the sweetness of the top layer jam paired well. I was not too big a fan of the bread they used, felt it was too hard to chew. Popovers– Another freebie, I am not quite sure why so many reviews rave about the popovers. I found them interesting but not particularly flavorful. They felt like bland croissants, they kinda looked like biscuits on steroids without the flavor. The addition of the butter and salt helped, but not by much. I did like it with the pâté but that is kinda cheating lol Grilled double cut bacon– parsley, garlic and sherry vinaigrette. This is a staple for any respectable steakhouse and the one here was good but not great. The flavor of the bacon was nice, but the addition of the parlsey and garlic didn’t really elevate the dish. The dish was good but it was on the greasy side. Kansas City– 28-day dry aged Prime bone-in strip. I love how it was presented on a cast iron skillet. I thought the flavor of the steak was nice but felt like it was slightly missing something. I enjoyed how the steak was cooked to temp and the little moo pick on the steak was a nice touch indicating level of doneness. I did think my med rare steak was cooked med rare but there wasn’t a lot of juice to the steak and the steak was oddly chewier than I expected it to be. I was expecting the steak to be really tender. It’s weird but I thought the steak were under seasoned but when I left the restaurants, I was thirsty like I ate something with too much salt. Cowboy– bone-in rib eye with roasted bone marrow and roasted garlic. I thought this was going to be the automatic winner. It was good but like the Kansas City, I was expecting it to be juicier and more tender. The marrow just seemed like solidified fat without a lot of flavor and the roasted garlic did go well with the steak but the bulbs shoulda been more done. Sauces– You have the option to add sauces on the side for no additional charge. I enjoyed the Bernaise the most. It’s a classic pairing for the beef, it’s kinda like a Hollandaise for your beef. Then the Peppercorn sauce, it was a nice addition to the steak it paired well. The Horseradish sauce was kinda a miss for me, it felt like whipped cream with a horseradish kick. Hen of the woods mushroom– I think these mushrooms were nice, they have a very beef feel to it, kinda in a beef jerky way. The flavors were good but it does feel very greasy as you are eating it.

Excellent restaurant, came here with 8 girls, ordered 3 steaks, 1 salad, 3 sides, 2 desserts, and 2 bottles of red wine. amount was just right. The mini doughnuts with coffee ice cream was sooooo yummy. Wine selections was a little on the expensive side.
