Ok so maybe I’m a bit too late to be writing this review since the location is closed, but I’m doing it anyway. I dined here sometime in early May and as usual I put a review on the backburner.
Providing one of the cheapest lunch specials starting around $ 6.95 for dishes like chicken pad thai, it is a nice lure, but you get what you pay for. While the food is decent itself and perfectly edible with decent flavor, you question the ingredients. The freshness of the greens in the dish and side salad were on the wilted side.
The décor downright confused me when I came in to pickup my order. A Thai restaurant with a French delicacy/​twist with a music/​Jazz themed décor. The food and theme of the restaurant seemed to clash more than Republicans and Democrats! The bar was also disproportionately sized in comparison to the dining area. I believe the bar was meant to be the focus of the restaurant, but I digress.
My final verdict: You get (got) what you pay for.
I would have recommended you try Breeze out and see what you think of their dishes even with my below average experience. Even if you dislike it, you can’t complain that you broke the bank buying yourself lunch here… but it’s closed. Then again, there are many Thai places in Hell’s Kitchen and many are worth a try a 100 times over.

I came here for my co-worker’s birthday dinner. It was my idea to come here and I deeply regret it.
My brother raved about this place and I’m beginning to question his sobriety level because I wasn’t impressed.
This place markets itself as French-​Thai fusion. I’m a little concerned because the only thing on the menu that was «French» was some baguettes. That’s it.
We started off with appetizers that were okay. I had the spring rolls and they were alright.
Three of us ordered chicken dishes and they came back later telling us that there was only enough chicken for two so one of us had to change our order. They were also out of beef and duck. Who runs out of chicken at 7pm? You can go and pick up chicken at the market.
After waiting a long time for our food we got to taste our dishes and honestly I’ve had better.
To top it off the service was horrible. The staff only seemed to be paying attention to the people seated in the middle and at the bar. It took forever to get the check and apparently they only allow three cards max to pay. However, we kept getting mixed messages from the staff.
Overall I’m not impressed and actually embarrassed I suggested it. Will not be coming back any time soon and I don’t recommend unless I’m hammered.

This place is my go-​to restaurant when I’m seeing a show or if I need to kill some time around Hell’s Kitchen. Everything I’ve had on the menu has been amazeballs and the mushroom dumpling is something I dream about on a regular basis. IT’S INCREDIBLE.
Another great thing about Breeze is it won’t break the bank. They have a lot of great deals like the prix fix that’s already been mentioned but my favorite is the two-​for-​one cocktails (all day if you sit at the bar). The lychee met cosmo is probably my favorite.

I’ve been coming to Breeze for the past 3 years and I’ve been noticing how the food and service have been going down. I was there for one last time on July 25; I had a horrible experience.
We ordered entrée, salads and appetizers and all of which came out of order. The entrée came before the other 2 and servers did little/​nothing to correct the problem.
When they brought the entrée, they forgot to include silverware and didn’t bring the rice that comes with the curry. That took 5 minutes to correct so we were there waiting and waiting. Then when the appetizers came after the entrée, they again forgot to bring silverware/​spoons and napkins. We patiently waited again but by then we were already over it. We pleaded with the manager to correct it but little was done.
When the bill came, 18% gratuity was included which isn’t typical of restaurants on 9^th ave. for this experience I wanted to tip much less (12−15%) but didn’t want to make a big fuss about it.
My conclusion is that I won’t be going down to Breeze again. There are many other excellent Thai restaurants in the area where the food and service are better.
I used to love Breeze but this slowly changes over time, mainly because of the quality of the food. This last time, the service was way too horrible for me to consider to come back. Instead, I recommend Viv or Obao where the food costs slightly more but the experience will be much better.

I ate at Breeze with a friend after buying the Groupon. The Groupon menu is separate, but still has plenty of menu items to choose from. Typical Manhattan restaurant with narrow and long layout, nice ambiance and décor, great for a date night or just eating out with friends. For appetizers we ordered the Thai Roti with Chicken Curry, which was good, and the Golden Curry Puffs, which reminded me of samosas but smaller and with a different sauce. The Coconut Chicken Soup and Lemongrass Shrimp Soup were both tasty. For entrées, the Spicy Noodle and Panang Curry were decently spicy, though the curry could have come with some more rice. Portion sizes were very generous and neither me or my friend could finish our soups or entrées. Staff was very friendly and I had a good dining experience overall.

Wow. I was really impressed by this place (& usually I’m a harsh critic when it comes to Thai food). First, there were SO many deals — they have a dinner prix fix meal for roughly $ 16 (covers appetizer, entrée, and dessert) or a restaurant week deal for two at $ 50 (covers two drinks, an appetizer, and entrée). If you check into Unilocal,you get two free spring rolls. There is also a 10% discount if you pay cash. I mean, really impressed.
As far as food goes, it was very delicious. I ordered the five basil chicken dish. My only critique is that I wish it came with more sticky rice. In addition, the mushroom dumpling appetizer is SO good. A MUST order. For drinks, I ordered the lychee mojitotini — very delicious. Overall, it was a great dinner and I would come back here again.

My friend bought the $ 36 Groupon which we shared.
I ordered the roti curry for the appetizer, the veggie duck salad and beef green curry along with the Thai Iced tea.
Came on a Sunday afternoon for a super late lunch around 215pm or so, so it was super empty and lack thereof service.
Chose the seats closest to the window and the tables weren’t very clean at all. It was very noticeable and the guy was nice enough to wipe it down for us upon my asking…
The Thai iced was a little too sweet.
The roti was cut up into mini «triangular» pieces with a small bowl of the curry sauce which was decent and included small slices of chicken.
But veggie duck salad was very mehhh. Wasn’t too crazy about.
Green curry was soooooooo spicy that I couldn’t taste anything else. My mouth felt like it was on fire. Had to send it back and they were kind enough to let me replace the entrée with something else. (pad see Ew)
That dish was wayyyy tooooo salty– I just couldn’t finish the whole thing in which I didn’t.
All in all, I was disappointed :(it was a little annoying having to constantly flag down the waitress for service. considering there weren’t many customers they were still very slow with service.
Not sure if I’d be back again. Considering how many other Thai restaurants there are in a 10 ft radius.

Decent Americanized Asian food. No wait, and the service is good. Great place to grab a quick bite before the show. Check in on Unilocal for a free eggroll appetizer!

Breeze offers a really unique dining experience – all the care and craftsmanship of French cuisine paired with Thai flavors. The restaurant has plenty of seating for small groups or couples, and their menus are printed on records and their cases. Paintings by Degas adorn the walls, there are roses on the tables – it’s adorable.
The food itself is incredible – we had the special menu for $ 50, which included any one appetizer, two cocktails, and any two entrees. Awesome deal! You can also eat more cheaply on their large menu. We ordered mushroom dumplings (amazing), a lychee martini, another exotic drink, and had the roast duck and Wrapped King Shrimp with zucchini noodles and green curry. The flavors were beautifully crafted. You’d be hard-​pressed to find better anywhere.
That being said, service was a bit chaotic. We didn’t get service or water for the first 20 minutes we were there. Two other couples there after us were helped first. Once we got our food, things were a bit better.
Portions are what you would expect for French cuisine – quality over quantity – but filling. Enjoy Breeze and its unique offerings; you won’t be disappointed.

Honestly I disappointed with my order. It was very bad taste, oily, greasy and too much fried. Hated hated it! I thought it was only my order bad also friends complaint because it was too much salty and bad taste. We all picked most popular «New York Times food» which they recommended.
I do NOT recommend this place anyone. Don’t waste your money & time here

This spot was quite cute.
The menus are innovative, being on a record and a record sleeve.
The prices are read like the time length of a song on a 45 record.
The food was really good. I had pad see ew, which was amazing. Not too salty or sweet. A good balance of the ingredients. The drinks were strong, not a lot of flavor but didn’t taste bad either.
The crowd was just perfect. Not too many people but the place wasn’t completely empty either. The staff was nice & accommodating.
Would definitely go back with friends.

Coming out of a Friday night Broadway show, I was surprised at how many places were full. Breeze’s extensive menu was pretty impressive (plus their drink menu is on a vinyl and their food menu is on the vinyl cover — how unique is that!), plus they actually had a couple tables available and were still serving food. It’s honestly just Thai food; I’m not sure where the French fusion comes in.
I’m having a pomegranate-​loving phase, and I was just telling my boyfriend that I was craving pomegranate juice when they waitress came over. By some miracle, Breeze had lychee, mango, and pomegranate juices — I was so impressed at how lucky I had gotten! How many places have pomegranate?
Anyway, onto things you care about. Their chicken satay is very juicy and tasty! Unfortunately my entrée of sauteed chicken and mixed vegetables wasn’t that great because the chicken had absolutely no flavor, just cooked in water — and you were supposed to add peanut sauce. I’m not the hugest fan of peanut sauce, so I traded my boyfriend for his pad see ew, which was yummy.
The servers were attentive enough and came at the right times. Since we were eating around 11 PM, there were a lot of loud people at the bar, but that didn’t bother us. Their last call is kind of early; I want to say around 11 or 11:30 if I remember correctly?

I want to like Breeze. The décor is incredibly fetch, like an alt-​universe VNYL. The bar menu & food menu are a record & sleeve, for goodness sake.
If only the food & service lived up to the hype.
I’ve had noodles and curry here before, and each dish has been adequate at best. My last order of spicy noodles featured two slivers of carrot — an ingredient that not even a below-​average Thai joint scrimps on. Tofu and chicken are rubbery and bland, and not even the saltiest of seasoning will cover that up.
If the product disappoints, the execution does it no favors.
On my last visit (early Saturday evening), the guy & I ate at the bar — meaning we waited and waited at the bar for our noodles. I wasn’t keeping track of the time, but I do know that it was at least 15 minutes before my dish showed up from the kitchen — hot inside but room temperature on the outside, like it had been sitting a while. Five minutes later, his dish arrived. The bartender apologized for the wait, but made no move to buy us a drink or take something off the bill, which makes me think the wait has become a commonplace thing there.
I’m sorry to break it to you, Breeze, but I’ll take the shabby chic of one of the Yum Yums across the street — their food is fresh & tasty, and shows up quick.

Went with the boyfriend on a groupon deal — 2 apps, 2 soup/​salads and 2 entrees at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon. very quiet when we arrived and was getting busier when we left at 5:30.
The waitress brought over a groupon menu w/​o prices but quite a large selection.
Got the Prawn Rolls (3) not bad but the shrimp were kinda small and a bit too dried out from the frying. It was on a semi large plate and the 3 rolls looked kind of sad on the big plate with slivered carrots garnish.
BF got the Thai roti with chicken curry. He liked the curry, and there were plenty of rotis but the rotis tasted like the frozen ones you can get at Trader Joe’s and lukewarm.
For soup/​salad, we both got salads. Crispy tofu tossed salad and mine was thai chicken tossed salad. they were the same salad — seasonal green tossed in orange sesame vinaigrette. i thought it was delish but the bf thought there was too much dressing. And there were probably too much dressing but i like sesame dressing and it wasn’t cream based so it was fine. Oh, i did remember noting that some of the lettuce leaves drowning and wilted a bit from dressing. lots of chicken and the fried tofu was firm but more on the bland side.
I was pretty full at this point. For entrée, bf got the 3 Lovers (Sauteed Shrimp, Chicken and tofu with baby corn, pepper in Thai brown sauce). This tasted like chinese food… very savory and soy-​sauce based. It was tasty but not Thai. I got the Beef Massaman Curry with Thai Roti («Flank Steak cooked in a perfect blend
of Massaman curry, roasted peanut and potatoes»). It was decent portioned with lots of the same Roti that my bf got for his appetizer. The curry was too sweet for my taste and some of the beef tender and some a bit too tough. Not my favorite.
Overall, it was a good value for money using groupon but the food is just not good Thai food… or Chinese. or anything. I guess I am not a fan of the «fusion» cuisine.

We’ve breezed in several times with friends for their Groupon dinner special. With a choice of appetizer, soup/​salad and entrée, it’s not a bad deal. Unfortunately, Breeze has now gone the «Groupon cheap photocopied menu» route instead of the «anything on the real menu except for a few selections» route which was more extensive and had the more expensive Thai-​French twist entrees.
My Groupon selection last month: I forgot the English name but Tom Yum Kung lacked depth. The Breeze Sea Bass entrée is not particularly Thai, French or Chinese but a tasty fusion! (Note the Sea Bass is not on the «Groupon cheap photocopied menu».)
Last night’s Groupon selection: The Wild Mushroom Dumpling appetizer was delicious and worthy of licking up the black truffle foam on the plate. The Golden Bags won ton appetizer was so over-​fried that there was no taste except dried burnt skin. We probably should have requested a replacement. Tom Ka Gai or Coconut chicken soup was good, but had almost no Gai (chicken). I think maybe there was just one small shred of chicken in my bowl.
The Beef Massaman Curry used flank steak and came with Thai Roti instead of rice. I think rice would’ve been better to soak up the curry. The dish came out later from the kitchen than the other entrees but surprisingly was barely warm.
My friend Howard B’s Bangkok Basil with chicken entrée looked and tasted much better. The stir fry was done right, and there was a distinct, «wok hay» taste which can only be successfully produced with a high-​fired extremely hot wok.
Wait service was OK but food-​running inconsistent as if each of us was on our own meal pace. This may be Hells Kitchen, but not Gordon Ramsey’s Hells Kitchen. With the attempt at a Thai-​French twist, I give Breeze kudos for trying to be a bit different from the other 10 (I’m not kidding) Thai restaurants within 2 blocks; however, I’d be surprised if you saw us here paying full price.

Our original plans were to dine at a nearby restaurant. My friend was running late so I stopped here for a happy hour drink at the bar. The bartender was very accommodating and prepared my cocktail for HH price even though it wasn’t listed on the menu. I was starting to relax and the menu looked good, so my friend met me here for dinner instead.
We had the spring rolls (compliments of Unilocal check in!). They were fresh and tasty.
I also ordered the red curry with vegetables and tofu. It was tasty. portion was a bit smaller than I’ve been served at other establishments.
My friend ordered the vegetable roll. It was ok. She also ordered mussels. They were fresh but really bland.
She ordered a cocktail too (at full price) but that never arrived.
We noticed: When I first arrived the restaurant was ½ full and it was easy to order.
As soon as the restaurant was full, our food took very long to arrive, and things from our order were forgotten. Since our food and check took a long time we were late to our Broadway play.

It is a small little restaurant and the décor is nothing fancy but kind of modern. Came here on a groupon where each person gets an appetizer, soup or salad, and an entrée. My fiancé had thai roti with chicken curry for appetizer, crispy tofu tossed salad, and duck breast de paris for entrée. I had wild mushroom dumpling, green papaya salad with grilled chicken, and chicken pad thai.
Thai roti with chicken curry — The roti was pre-​sliced and neatly placed on plate. The curry sauce was ok, nothing amazing
Crispy tofu tossed salad — The tofu was tasteless but when dipped in the curry sauce that came with the roti it was good. The salad was a little too heavy on the ginger flavor
Duck breast de paris — The duck was tasty and flavorful, but the entrée was supposed to come with bok choy which they substituted with some other vegetable without telling us
Wild mushroom dumpling — Was very flavorful and delicious. My favorite dish of the night
Green papaya salad with grilled chicken — Tasted a little too sour for my liking. Was a pretty big salad though
Chicken pad thai — Tasted a little too sweet but I really like the texture of the noodle. Kind of chewy
Service was pretty attentive. Food and drinks came fairly quickly. The bathroom was a little dirty.

They say it’s fusion and to me it’s confusion… It took me a while to figure out the French portion out of it — The food at this place is 100% Thai; and the way how they present it is French. I mean, to put small portion of food in the middle of a big plate and place the sauce on it as finishing an abstract paint… that’s it!
Anyway, I gave it a four star because of the magnificent flavors of wild mushroom dumplings, curry chicken appetizer and the curry duck as entry. You will have great chances to savor your dishes to the fullest, because the restaurant has fewer lighting and is very dark…

Breeze Thai-​French fusion restaurant is yet again located along 9^th avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. The ambiance is modern and hip. The full bar serves cocktails and mixes.
We came here with groupon for two last Sunday for dinner. The deal includes appetizer, soup or salad and entrée per person. I made a reservation earlier that day and we were seated by a nice wait staff right away.
Not more than couple of minutes our waiter came to us and offered us the cocktail menu. I chose a glass of Sauvignon blanc for my dinner.
When he came back, I already mentally lined up my choices for appetizers. We ordered fried dumplings stuffed with minced shrimp, chicken and picked radish and served with black soy sauce. Thai Roti with chicken curry, a pan seared roti with chicken yellow curry both dishes are delicious.
The Tom yum and coconut chicken soup are both served hot. Since we checked in on Unilocal we were given vegetable Thai spring rolls on the house. We thought that that was sweet.
Since the chef specials are included in the deal, I chose five star basil chicken it’s a sautéed ground chicken with basil and herb over rice with Thai style fried egg. I was warned that the dish is spicy, but I thought it was perfect for me palate and it tastes a notch better than the other ones I tried before. The oven roasted sea bass with coriander, garlic butter served with yellow bean sauce and sautéed bok choy tastes really delicious and fresh.
It was a sumptuous and gracious dinner. Considering that we came here with groupon. We will definitely comeback to try other chef’s specials.
