You can judge an Argentine restaurant by its chimichurri(a minced garlic– green parsley oil vinegar seasoning) — and this is authentic. I have to say its as good as my suegra(mother in law) made it — sweetbreads Mollejas(sweatbreads –thymus or pancreas) seared crispy on outside and soft on inside; empanadas with olives and chopped hard boiled egg; berenjena(eggplant) seasoned nicely and picante but not bitter and strip steak that is chargrilled juicing smothered in chimichurri. And for finishers flan lightly carmelized but not too sweet. A must go if you cant have an asado(Argentine BBQ technique) on your balcony. been back three times.

Dining here took us back to when we explored Argentina and ate copious amounts of delicious meat and wine. We loved the feel of this place which seems to be quite authentic. It’s not a trendy place but has great food and definitely a lot of regulars. We had a late lunch at about 2:30 on a Sunday and by the time we left the restaurant was full. From memory when we were in Argentina meals were always later than when we wanted to eat. Things we loved: — hand cut meat empanadas — spicy chicken empanadas — short rib steak(we prefer slightly fattier meat so this was perfect for us — cooked perfectly!) — house salad — simple but perfect — dulce de leche pancakes — decadent but definitely worth having even if you’re full — chimichurri — we used all of ours! Amazing! Things we can miss: — chorizo We can’t wait to go back again to try the different cuts of meat and eat more empanadas!

After having grown up in Argentina, Going to Buenos Aires feels like going home. They meats are great as well as the empanadas, my personal favorite is «carne a cuchillo». I also love the sweetbreads but I understand that it is not something that everyone eats. The owner is always there managing the staff and making sure that everything is perfect for the customers. It is a great alternative for people that want to eat steak in NY but do not want to pay $ 100 for it!

If you want to try an authentic argentinian restaurant in New York, you have to come here! I’ve been there for lunch with my parents. The place smells delicious, the food taste amazing and the ambiance is perfect, we fell like we were in Argentina! The service and the food were excellent! We had some appetizers(handcut meat empanadas and a chorizo) and then we order a milanesa with provenzal fries and the argentinean famous«bife de chorizo» with salad… We loved it!!! As everything was so great we will definitely come back!

I’ve coming here for years the food was great as usual but I hate to be rushed. I understand you needed the table but there’s a polite way to say it. I’m not coming back any time soon that way you can have the table available.

GoooOooood stuff!!! Came here for lunch and we ordered: — Ham and Cheese Empanada: WOW. ooey gooey goodness! –Spicy beef Empanada: Good minus the olives… but im not an olive lover. So ignore me if you like olives — Skirt Steak with Chimichurri: Great piece of meat with a nice chimi… fries were surprisingly irresistible… «just one more!!» Not sure, but the service was extremely slow. After the empanadas I think it took the steak 45 mins to come out, and we ordered it medium rare…

The skirt steak is what I always come here for. It’s the bomb with chimichuri sauce. Their salad on the side with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing is appetizing. What I don’t care for are the soggy fries. The filet mignon skewer was too dry. But they only have the choice to cook the skewer in medium well to well done. I tried the medium well and it was still too dry. Only reason I give it a 4 star is because they’re skirt steak makes up for it. And the chimichuri sauce of course! The wait staff also kept my water filled to the brim throughout the night.

Great! Went here for NYE dinner. It was a full menu. For apps, we got the empanadas and two salads(Russian and Maria’s). For dinner we got the Parrillada Buenos Aires. It’s a mix of meats but you get it all, from skirt steak to the ribs to the blood sausage. Some are misses, but for the price it’s definitely the better option and size. It says one, but it is definitely for two. For dessert we got the Exotic Bomba which is quite possibly the best fruit based dessert I’ve had in a while. It tasted like gelato covered in a white chocolate. Super delicious. Will definitely be back for that dessert and the empanadas!

If you are in the area and are in the mood for a nice chunk of red meat at a reasonable price, there is no better option. Trust. My boyfriend and I shared a 10 oz filet mignon and a 10 oz skirt steak, with side of mashed potato and sauteed spinach. With a glass of red wine and soda, tip, and tax, we were just over $ 110 and we had enough steak and sides for the next day’s lunch(the steaks honestly seemed like more than 10 oz… they were BIG chunks of meat!) Of course the amount of food means nothing if it tastes bad, and this place is a winner there too. Steaks were expertly cooked, correct to order. Even sauteed spinach(something I would not normally touch– not a spinach fan) was delicious– lightly sauteed with slivers of garlic, I could not stop eating the damn leafy veggie. WTH? Also, the peppercorn sauce that you can choose for fillet– the other option is mushroom– you could dip a piece of shoe leather and eat it it’s so good. Perfect neighborhood spot. Nice people too. But the food is what will make me come back.

My first time coming here was in July of 2014. I had never tried Argentinian food before. I was looking for a steakhouse, and this place is what turned up in my search. I’m not sure if steak is considered an authentic Argentinian dish, but it was amazing either way, and so was their wine. My boyfriend and I were looking to treat ourselves to a nice dinner that isn’t necessarily out of our budget, but was more than we typically spend on a meal. In terms of price, your meal isn’t going to be a fortune, but it won’t be cheap either. Luckily, you get what you pay for. We started over the chorizo with sauteed peppers and onions. This was my favorite dish. Served immediately after it was finished cooking, still sizzling. It’s flavorful and slightly spicy(but not overwhelming). We shared the 32 oz. skirt steak. Abundant in portion, cooked perfectly to the medium we requested. The chimichurri and other toppings they provide for the steak are delicious. The mashed potatoes are buttery and contain the small chunks evident of having been made from real potatoes. Some people like that, some don’t. I love it. The service is very friendly. We accidentally knocked over an almost-full glass of wine(oops), and they refilled it free of charge. Definitely appreciate it, and weren’t expecting to not have to pay. I had a white wine from Argentina, dry. I wish I could remember the name of it now. I’ll update the review with that at some point. Either way, their wine selection is extensive and caters to both those who want to blow $ 600 on a bottle and those who would prefer the $ 9 glass(like me). The atmosphere is conducive to an intimate date night. The seating is very close together, and it got busy both times I was here, so making a reservation is highly suggested.

Definitely over priced for what it is. Not saying the food wasnt good or service was bad, but it’s just not outstanding. I wouldnt go out of my way to go to this place. We started our dinner off with 2 orders of empanadas. The ham and cheese and the spicy beef. My son and i enjoyed the ham and cheese. The spicy beef was not spicy and it had too much olive juice but the puff pastry itself was good. We then ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce which was literally baby shrimps in oil with a few pieces of garlic and dusted with parsley. Definitely not worth the 16.95 they were charging. Also ordered the entrana(skirt steak) which had no seasoning at all. It tasted like a piece of meat literally grilled without any salt or pepper on it. The steak came with mashed potatoes which tasted good but come on the star of the dish is steak. As for our sides we ordered french fries, sauteed broccoli and white rice. The fries are just your ordinary hand cut fries also without salt which is ok cause they have salt and pepper grinders on the table. The sauteed broccoli is your standard broccoli you get anywhere else. But the side order of rice for 4.95 is way too expensive. You get about a tea cup size for that price. Definitely not ok. Overall I’m giving this place a 3 star because the wait staff was very attentive. My glass was never empty of water(and i drink a lot of water). They cleared our plates, asked if everything was ok, even asked if we wanted our bread toasted when he saw me feel if it was hot or not. It’s such a shame when you have good staff but the food is lacking in flavor. Oh the blood sausage was decent. I dont know about 7.95 for it though

Oh hot damn, they have some filling portions, I kid you not. Their selection of meats were delicious, everything from the iberico jamon to the prosciutto to the half chicken to the steaks!!! Came here on a Saturday night for a girl friend’s bday… Really busy so I recommend making reservations ahead of time. None the less, the waiter was still great in helping out our party. Pretty low key restaurant. Nothing too fancy but amazing grub. Really good for groups & meat lovers!

I was pretty excited about this place since I love Latin American food and I’m a carnivore by nature but the service here took away a great experience. I shared the Empanadas Argentina, Rueda Buenos Aires and Media Entraña. I recommend trying their sausages and steaks. The empanadas are okay but definitely not as good as their meat dishes. The Rueda Buenos Aires is a good way to sample all the varieties of sausage they have. My favorites were the sweetbreads and grilled chitterlings. My least favorite was the blood sausage. If you don’t want to get the Rueda Buenos Aires then get the sweetbreads or chitterlings. For the Media Entraña, it came with a side of spinach which made me feel less guilty about all the meat. A note to be made is that these steaks are slightly different than what you expect from a steakhouse. They are a thinner cut and hardly cooked rare. Medium or well done is the way to go when it comes to skirt steaks. I wasn’t too pleased with the service here, my water was never refilled and the server hardly came by my table to check on how we were doing. I didn’t feel welcome or acknowledged. It was almost as if my table and I were invisible to them. Based off just the sausages alone, it wouldn’t encourage me to return because they weren’t amazing but for what it is, it was decent. The bad service was a turn off so this will be a one time visit.

I don’t think I’ve ever had Argentinian food, so while I cannot attest to their authenticity, I can say that their food is not bad. Adding to my lack of worldliness today, I always thought blood sausages were an Asian thing, and seeing it on the menu here definitely caught me off guard! Their extensive menu, combined with my cluelessness meant it took me a while to finally decide on the grilled skirt steak. I asked for medium rare, but the server said most patrons preferred this dish medium so I went along with it. My group ordered the grilled sausage platter to share, to which I was silently jubilant. I had wanted to try the blood sausage based on the Unilocal reviews, but didn’t want to order it as my entrée since I wasn’t that big a fan of the Asian ones. The steak was not bad, but not great either. I’ve had better at chains like Texas Roadhouse and I expected better at this price point. I liked the blood sausage more than I expected, but I still wouldn’t order it as an entrée due to its heaviness(I don’t know if I’m using the right adjective here, but it’s 1 am so forgive me). We also had a highly inattentive server who pretty much ignored us after dropping off the food, so all in all I would say this was a very mediocre experience except for the food which was decent. 2.5 stars!

OMG why am I now just learning about sweetbreads? YUMMY! Ok, you probably don’t wanna know what these really are… but just keep your mind open and try them. Amazing! These are the only ones I’ve ever tried, but I hear that the way that Buenos Aires crips them is unique and way above average! I’d definitely take a return trip here anytime for those awesome morsels! What about everything else? All spot on! The grilled and breaded steaks, the sausages(except I didn’t try the blood sausage b/c I was scared), the drinks, the service… everything was definitely way above average! Oh, and I went with a native Argentinian who verified that this place is the real deal… so this place even wins for authenticity! Check this place out! It rocks!
