I want to leave an awesome review because for the past 6 years, I’ve been finding amazing clothes here for bargain prices. As a native brooklyn(nite?)…I’m well aware of how the gentrification has brought businesses that jack up prices for used clothes :( This place is one of the last few places where you can get quality clothes for cheap. I’ve had great customer service for 6 years from the staff here. They know my face and treat me well. EXCEPT a day before xmas 2015, I was there buying a last min gift. A cute button down sweater for my sister, when I went to check out, I handed a $ 20 for my purchase, a woman I had never seen before said bluntly: «I DON’T HAVECHANGE» she didn’t offer any solution or even an apology. She could have apologized, offered to hold the sweater for me, while I went to get change. Or even held it for another day. She said nothing and just stood there as if It was my fault that she couldn’t break my $ 20. We got into an argument because of this. As I understood it, she was annoyed because she was covering someone else’s shift and they were late to relieve her. I get it, working retail sucks sometimes. I just wish management would better prepare their staff for situations like this in the future :( Although this experience was sucky, it was once out of 6 years. I don’t think it will stop me from shopping here. Next time I visit i plan to talk to management about my last visit, so that no one else will have the same problem :-/

Having spent the past five years exploring the incredible array of thrift and vintage stores in the Bushwick area, I can say with confidence that Busura World Fashion(which has, as recently as last week, undergone a major decorative makeover, culminating in a name change: it’s now New Brooklyn Fashion) is easily my favorite place to shop… ever. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, and I doubt that an impatient shopper would have as much fun as I do trolling the hectic and unorganized racks within… but if you get a kick out of picking through the endless troves of garb at flea markets or warehouse thrift stores, amassing pounds of great designer and one-of-a-kind throwback digs, without spending much at all, THIS is your dream store.

They had a great selection of boots in the back, but that was all I could seem to get to. I think the owners need to do a little thinking about quality VS quantity. Although there seemed to be some good stuff hidden away I couldn’t really get to it. I don’t have a problem spending 2 – 3 hours going through racks but in this case there was just too much stuff in too small of a space to even be able to move hangers aside to see what was on the racks which was really too bad.

Alright, Busura Thrift is where is at. The store is big enough to easily spend 20 mins just looking around, and although everything isn’t perfectly sorted, it’s manageable. The selection of clothes isn’t curated at all, it’s just everything bunched together. You’re going to have to look but it will be worth it. The prices aren’t listed anywhere, but listen. it’s super super cheap. I paid $ 4 for a wool cardigan that looked basically new. So… game over for all other thrift stores in the area. I believe there was 1 guy working there at the time and he was really laid back.
