Being from Guyana, I definitely enjoy a good meal that reminds me of back home. I had the mixed fried rice, which had pork, check and shrimp … And my guest had the duck fried rice. Oh boy was it delicious ! I order the passion fruit drink, which can also come with alcohol but I chose not to have alcohol. The waiter was prompt and very nice. Great food and service.

Love the wait staff :) the food is great, good to take families during the day and to eat late on weekends. They open until 6AM Saturday morning and Sunday to accommodate the weekend party goers, with classic yummy Indian style breakfast. Recommendations include the shrimp wontons, fried or steamed, both ways is a must try! Im sure you will fall in love with one. Other favorites include spicy chicken wings, cha chi chai chicken…(not sure if I spelled that correctly).and grilled shrimp. Other than these appetizers, the house special white rice is really good. Pork can be substituted for lamb. Another good tip about this restaurant is the halal meat used! Besides the food. The décor is unique with a beautiful painting highlighting gems of Trinidad and Guyana. Plus two lovely fish tanks. There is a comfortable vibe to the place which makes me want to come back again and again!

Appetizers sucked. No taste and rubbery. Roast pork not worth it. Actual entrees were pretty decent. Atmospher was… way too bland. Walked in in the middle of summer and there’s Christmas music playing. Would go back but def not in any hurry.

This is a great place if you need a Caribbean food fix. Staff is extremely nice, especially Angela and Robin. The food is definitely better tasting from Thursday to Sunday — not sure if they have different cooks. The black pudding, fried Banga Mary, and the spicy chicken wings are def the best appetizers. The barbecue chicken fried rice is on point. It’s usually packed on the weekends and is everyone’s go-to spot after a night of clubbing. The bar is not that great, definitely geared to a more mature crowd.

Was there last Saturday, had fun DJ was awesome. Mixed crowd but mostly of a mature generation which was not bad at all considering all the teenagers that flock the clubs and cause a problem because of their immature behavior. Would defiantly go again

Had dinner here last night — fried shark and gilbaka curry. Both were delicious and the portion sizes were generous but without«giving away the house«. Food was prepared well and although the plating won’t wow you, it wasn’t just thrown together either. I’d come back here and try different dishes next time. Our server, Maria, was charming and very engaging. The place was empty(it was a Wednesday night) but I’m told Saturdays are the big night there. Prices are reasonable and there was plenty of parking on the street on this night. Glad we found this place and tried it out.

One of the worst places I have ever been to. My friends have taken me here a few times, and every single time there was a problem. My most recent trip here was late night. My friend’s chicken curry was cold so he politely asked the waitress if it could be reheated. She replied with«There must be something wrong with you today.» My friend has never been here before, it was his first time eating curry, and he was shocked at her response. She returned the curry, and it was cold again. He had to ask her, to which she had another annoyed response. I had a fish sandwich which was great, really no complaints with my food. But they NEVER seem to have the ‘American’ part of the menu. Why even print it??? Then we get the bill, and gratuity is already included, even though it was only 3 of us. We found the manager, told her what happened, and did not pay that gratuity. I am the biggest tipper out of my friends(because I’ve worked in similar jobs before) and I did not feel she deserved anything. I work in a similar business and it does not matter how busy it is, how bad your day was, how many customers are asking you for things, how short staffed it may be, etc. CUSTOMERSERVICE is always important! We were seated barely 10 minutes, and had only spoken to her ONCE when she unleashed her rude comments. Completely unnecessary and I will never return to this place again.

The food and drinks are delicious and the service is great. Waiters and staff are very friendly and attentive. There’s also a bar/lounge area with a DJ and dance floor. The DJs are great. They play a good mix of soca, reggae, Indian, and hip-hop music that really keeps you on the dance floor. They have some of the best hookah. The flavors are really strong and tasty. Definitely would recommend going here for some good West Indian food and music.

Ooooh, fuuud. SO much FUUUD. A relatively simple West Indian menu with nom nom nom written all over it! Has everything you are craving from roti, to dhal puri, to curries, but this time, we opted for simplicity. Chicken Fried Rice is not just«Chicken Fried Rice» as we all know it from our local chinese take-outs… The fried rice is TOPPED with what seems like a fried half chicken! The rice’s components consist of onions, scallions, carrots and BORA!(Long bean, not peas!) It really gives it that nice little extra crunch… along with the raw cabbage topping. Totally into the textures and totally into this dish… all for $ 7.95! The portion is huge so you are getting the most for you money. I have yet to try the rest of the menu so I’m excited to go on this journey!

It has been sometime since I been to this place but I happen to be in the area last Saturday night hanging out late… like really late. The place seem like some improvements have been done and upgrades are noticeable. Upon entering the double doors I immediately notice the carpet was changed and give the place a much better appearance. We tried to get into the bar but it was jamming too much for us so we decided to dine in. We were greeted and offered a table to dine in. I was impress with the upgraded look of the restaurant. It was clean and tidy(not smelly and dirty like some places I visited). The only aroma was steaming goodness coming from the dishes carried by the waitresses who were very polite to explain what dish it was when I asked. We ordered some cocktails which took a little while(was thinking I should have just gotten a beer) but anyway the wait was worth it. I enjoyed my drink and it was not watered down or didn’t get an hangover(if u know what I mean). We ordered a few appetizers which I enjoyed. I had the Spicy Cut up wings which I think were great. Also the Banga Mary which was well seasoned. We also had the deep fried dumplings I think they were the shrimp wontons which was also a nice start. I was not too excited about this at first because I had shrimp wontons at other places but these were fresh and taste was well balanced as with the other apps. We shared a Jamaican Style Jerk chicken fried rice which was on point… nice man. And course a chicken fried rice which I think is a must when dining in a caribbean/West Indian restaurant. It was quite good also. Our time extended into their breakfast rush and my god the whole place went crazy. People started pouring in for that West Indian breakfast it was crazy. I hadn’t seen so many hungry people at 4am in the morning. It was a corn mutton and roti craziness. Not forgetting the Baigan choka and roti. It was a site to see. They were noisy but I think I understood why(de licka). It toned down after the food was serve… thanks. I will pop in again soon for repeat no doubt.

I was at Caribbean Cabana one of the best West Indian restaurant in Queens last Saturday for dinner with my family love this place the restaurant was really busy but the servers and managers was really nice to they guess… The food was great but we had to wait a lil wild for the food and it was understandable just because they was busy as I say the servers and managers make u feel so welcome u don’t mind to wait and in the end of dinner it was all worth it can’t wait to come back for more house special fry rice…

Nice, family oriented restaurant. Treat my parents and grandparents really well. Drinks were good, and they had an extensive bar. Food was excellent, tasty. Took a little while to get the food, but the place was crowded so it’s understandable. wish the waitresses had name tags because I couldn’t remember her name, but she was very nice and made us feel at home. Try the shrimp won tons, fried or steamed, and the house special fried rice, it comes«white» which has less sauce added.

Per the reviews, it was me who brought the parents here for some old school west-Indian cuisine. We entered and the«server”/“hostess» was doodling with her phone. «TABLEPLEASE!!!», got her attention. Meals: Appetizer: «Shrimp Wontons»(good taste) Main: Curry Duck/Dhalpuri roti, Curry Goat/Paratha(good taste) Service : Server lacked social skills and was unprofessional likely to not knowing any better. Communication was also a issue. Still left her a above average tip in relation to the check.(served long ago myself) Location: This is interesting… place is located next to the elevated train. Feels like a freaking THUNDERGOD bustin’ shots every 15 mins while dining. You gotta laugh after the 3rd time. Verdict: Good Food. Thundergods. Staff’s P’s & Q’s need improvement.

THINGSTOTRY: DUCKCURRYANDROTI, BLACKPUDDING, COCKTAILS I would have given this place 5 stars if the service was faster. They are a bit pricy, but the portions are large and the food is really good. When I want a non West Indian or Caribbean person to try my culture’s food, I take them to Cabana. Its not the most quiet place on the block, but its one of the best dine-in options for West Indian food in NYC

I hate to give a place 2 stars. The food was good we had shrimp fried rice but the service was crazy. We had to wait a long time for just soy sauce and even the bill. Probably better to take out.

One of the chefs from Kaieteur opened his own restaurant and this is it. It is decorated in a similar way. Caribbean Cabana is also West Indian and Chinese cuisine. Caribbean Cabana is in Little Guyana too. The service is friendly and the food is good. But I prefer Kaieteur. The fried rice was not Wok seared very well and it was missing something. It was just a step down from Kaieteur. Never the less it is a good option for Chinese West Indian in Little Guyana, Queens.
