Just as an FYI the place is closed. Look for a new Latin restaurant to take it’s place. I will put out some pics.

I am not sure what/when other have had Cuban sandwich’s here. But its was by far the worst Cuban I have ever had… the sandwich was as dry as it gets… and the chicken was definitely AT-LEAST a couple of days old… I bet cardboard tastes better than that chicken… Walked all the way from 42nd&8th reading the reviews… But daam was I thrown off… Generally I always give any place a second try. but this place is gone off of my list… I am sure u will find better options than this one…

This is my second time here. First time I got the stand-bys: cubano sandwich and fried tostones with garlic. The sandwich was good but not great. Definitely not what I’ll be coming back for. And the order of tostones was a bit small. Today I got the mofongo con pollo and it was EXCEPTIONAL. Very moist and the perfect ratio of plantain to garlic to chicken. And the sauce was just right. Food came quickly but seemed very fresh. All the people working here were friendly and helpful. I’ll come back for more mofongo for sure.

Casa de «no hay» Havana(house of we have none)… Ok I was excited and went out of my way to get to this place due to all of the awesome reviews on Unilocal… walked in for a late lunch to an empty house(never a good feeling). I was still excited cuz the décor was super authentic and very Cuban. Once we started ordering though, the«no hay» started… We tried ordering two/three things that sounded phenomenal on the menu and they just said they were out!!! So we went to the daily specials menu and picked items there and again«no hay»??? Finally went for the dubbed«best Cuban sandwiches» and fried yuca. It was ok if u don’t mind not having too many options and ur in the area. Not worth the walk from 5th Ave/Times Square. Hope it helps!

New favorite Cuban goto place! Normally I take a dozen or so photos with my reviews, only this time the food came out so delicious looking had to dig right in. Will be going back soon for sure. The atmosphere is great although labeled as a «Cuban Diner» it’s also a great looking and fully functional restaurant with great vibe for 10th Ave. in Hell’s Kitchen. Started shimp empanadas for $ 2, absolutely perfect, great pastry, Cuban spices and veges and more than enough shrimp. They also had codfish but were out, next time for sure. I saw a lot of people coming in just for them, so I know they are popular in the hood. First course we had chicken mofongo. Having been to at least a dozen or so restaurants that specialize in mofongo, which more normally found at Puerto Rican joints, they nailed it. Super moist and just perfectly balanced between ingredients. Literally no reason to go to any other mofongo place in NYC, this place blows them all away. For main course, like most new Cuban places, the roast pork is the beta to measure across all dishes. Can be too dry, overcooked and too salty. Nope, they hit this one out of the ball park too. One of best Cuban pulled pork ever had, juicy and cooked perfectly tender. Comes with choice of beans and rice. Desert, sweet plantains and café con leche. Sweet plaintains were again not too overcooked, but the coffee was unreal. Kept taking tiny little sips to see if I could figure out a way to replicate this at home. Lastly we took home 2 Cuban sandwiches to go … eating one right now as I type. Pulled pork, chorizo/sausage, ham and swiss with pickles. F’ing amazing! To finalize … there are a TON of foo-foo Cuban places throughout the city. But c’mon … Cuban food is street food and homemade style cooking only. This is it people … this is the real deal!

$ 2.00 for authentic empanadas and I’m NOT in Queens?! Huzzah! Shrimp, chicken, beef, chorizo/potato and cheese?! Amazingness. They’re literally the size of my face(and I have a rather average sized face… lol). Came here last week with some friends after their empanada sign caught my eye. We all got different types and they were all enjoyed fresh out of the skillet(or frier). The chicken one was really delicious — the chicken was tasty, not dry and the empanada was well-stuffed. This Latin Restaurant is apparently pretty new as one of the girls behind the counter was telling me. The interior is simple — kind of has a retro 50s diner kind of feel. The space is very clean and the atmosphere was nice since they had Top 40 Spanish music playing at a volume that didn’t impede conversation. I would definitely come back to try some more of their Latin dishes as their menu looked very enticing and offered lots of reasonably prices apps and entrees.
