Terrible place. You can tell the staff are bothered by the concept of having to deal with customers. Drinks are overpriced. Music selection loud and just not good. Had a couple mixed drinks that tasted«off» — think bad ice was the culprit. Switched to beer. Unfortunately warm beer. Asked the bartender for a colder one and he grabbed my beer as if he will determine if it’s cold enough for me. There’s better cocktail bars in the neighborhood

Great food & great drinks. Some of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had and the lollipop wings are not to be missed.

Had such a great time ringing in the new year here. Makes a pretty good mojito and the bartenders are friendly and cool. Over all, nice bar that I would not mind going to again.

I was pleasantly surprised to find thus cute, cozy cocktail bar in Financial District. Drinks were delicious!!! We ordered some bites and they came out very yammy. Our waitress was very attentive and welcoming! Truly great experience!

Do not write this place off as your typical fidi restaurant — good for drinks and«meh» at best for food. They have a serious chef here and a real menu. Good and ingredients are excellent. Murray’s cheese? Yes please. Kale salad is exciting, inventive, and amazing. Don’t miss the burger or the crab dip. Mushroom flat bread is also awesome. I wish they would expand their menu just so I could try more things! Bar program here is also serious. I almost feel bad ordering wine Bc these guys want to make you cocktails — and they can! My only wishes? Better wine glasses(and bigger wine pours) — the food and he space here deserve a real wine glass and real wine pour. That being said, big props for being able to get great value wine. Great for after work/happy hour/late night. Such a great addition to this food-handicapped neighborhood — thanks, Cedar Local!

Came for a cocktail event. Food was excellent, the service was superb, the ambience and set up remarkable, the cocktails just ok. I’ll give it a try again.

By far THE best burger I have ever had! I’m from California and it beats an In –N –Out Burger. The fries and the truffle mayo was unique and tasty to say the least. The fois gras was delicious. The service was impeccable and the vibe is sexy and sophisticated. Definitely will be back. To be continued…

As some reviewers say, can’t you give 0 stars? Don’t go. The ambience would seem to be fine, and the drinks, while way, WAY overpriced, are acceptable given that there are few options in the neighborhood. But goodness what rude people that run this place. One guy seemed great. But then his brother behind the bar appeared ready to pick a fight at any time and does not belong in the service industry. The manager is nearly as bad, as he actively provokes arguments with patrons, alienating multiple customers as reviews here show. Avoid it. There are better places a short walk away in Tribeca or even in the Financial District.

The food and drinks are fantastic here! Chef John’s food rocks. You must try the crab cakes… real crab with very little breading topped with a delicious green salad. The burger will keep you dreaming even after the night is over. Good strong drinks and a friendly vibe by the owners Tully and his brother give the place a great vibe. They will even take music requests… this is old school in manhattan

I usually do not come down to Wall Street as do not find there are many interesting bars and restaurants in the area. This place is an exception as it has both good drinks and food. Place is small but has nice large bar and liked what I assume is cedar planked ceiling which keeps noise down. Like many places now they do a good job on drinks as the bartenders or should I say mixologists make a strong and tasty cocktail. Food menu was small and wished they had a few more healthy items as though liked my short rib sandwich I could have used more vegetables In the salad or maybe a side of wilted spinach instead of just chips. It is a bar so might be getting a bit picky. If work or live I the area this is a good place to unwind after work

Still love this place for the cocktails and atmosphere, but service can be REALLY slow at times. This includes when my friend and I have been one of two tables in the entire bar. I shouldn’t have to flag a server down because I finished my drink 10 minutes ago :/

Pros: legit cocktails and quiet enpugh to have convo Cons: unbelivably disgustingly rude waiter!!! It pains me to write a bad review for this place, because I liked the black décor with bright yellow cellar and dappy looking bartenders with their vests and rolled up sleeves, jiving with the music. And all the good things about this place end here. We sat down and the hostess told us there is a margarita special all night. My friend asked what flavors of margarita were available and if they did frozen margarita. The hostess brought the waiter over and the first thing the waiter said was; «does this place look like a bar that serves frozen margarita?» I couldn’t believe what I heard!!! And he did not stop there. He forgot my drink orders not only once, but twice. And when my friend asked for water, he pointed to the water jar across from the bar and told her to help herself next time.(First of all, we didnt know we had to do it ouraelves and secondly, Excuse me, waiter???) And then when he brought the check to us, he was like«I’m out of here for memorial wknd! *flickering back both his palms and dropping the bill on the table* So… yeah… I hope you are reading this and yeah, you were disgustingly rude. I don’t know if u are the bartender ans maybe were covering for the waiter that didn’t show up that day, but you shouldn’t treat your customers as I was treated. Although your service didnt deserve it, We still left 20% tip just because that 20% means more to you than to us.

I can only give thumbs down for the service here. As I was taking a seat, the bartender acknowledged me, then proceeded to chit-chat with other customers for over 5 minutes. The other 2 bartenders gave no notice either. If the place were really crowded, I’d be more forgiving. Hope the service improves.

I’m surprised I never knew about this awesome lounge/bar earlier since it’s so close to my apartment. I’m just a 5 block walk away and this hidden gem is something maybe just the locals know about. Upon entering past a dark heavy curtain you arrive and see this different world where the bartenders are in neat and fitted vests and where people dress smartly for all occasions. Dimly lit, yet never dark, this place will take you out of whatever mood you are in and leave you a blank slate to just relax. The crowd here seemed to be suits relaxing after a tough day. I myself was on a date here a little after dinner time and the amount of people and the atmosphere was perfect for a little romantic spot to let libations cool and relax us. And Oh man the drinks!!! Wow they were good! I had a creation from the bartender known as the McQueen this scotch drink somewhat akin to an Old Fashion and was a drink to remind you what a man’s drink should be. Strong flavored, with some fruity hints. My date had the Ladies Choice — which was a sweetened lightly lemony drink very very refreshing and not necessarily meant only for a lady. She thoroughly enjoyed it as she let me know later that evening. The food there was also very good — although i didn’t get to sample everything — just what I’ve had so far was excellent! I’ll definitely be back and I’ll be telling my friends to join me here!

This was my first time at Cedar Local. Being relatively new, I think it has a lot of potential. The space is great, and I’m looking forward to having another fun spot to go to in the neighborhood. I went with some friends. They enjoyed the drinks and especially the beers there. We shared a couple of their plates, as well. I will just say, maybe the menu will change as they grow, but they have basically a menu of bar appetizers. We had some plates of plantain nachos, sliders, a meat plate, and the meatballs in some kind of soup. The sliders were actually very good and probably the most satisfactory item on the menu. The rest of the items were not as filling or as good. The plantain nachos had a lot of potential but the flavors just didn’t blend and they didn’t put enough toppings on it. The meat plate was a little skimpy. Nobody at our table was satisfied or full so we went to another place and had dinner after our drinks here. The beer was nice. The choices were vast and everyone tried several different things. The service was super slow. Partially probably due to their newness. It was hard to get the attention of servers and we had to ask several times to several people for anything we wanted. Our water glasses were never filled, and our orders came out at very different times and some of them probably sat waiting for us for a while as some were no longer hot when they got to us. I have a lot of hope for this spot and the space is ridiculously charming. I will try it again in hopes I went on an off night and in hopes of a menu change to have better more filling options.

I really love the deep dark wood/minimalist modern décor. The waitstaff are very attentive and they have happy hour specials on their beer and wine. I went at about 5−530pm and was able to snag a table for myself and 2 others. This place would have gotten 5 stars but their drinks are a bit expensive. They are good though!

I’ve been here twice — once on a Thursday when it was packed and once on a Monday night when we were literally the only people in the place. My first visit I stuck to wine but on my second I tried a cocktail called something like Ladies Night — it was chamomile vodka, prosecco and lavender. The chamomile was very intense, so I don’t think I’d order it again but it was still a cool combo. They have a decent selection of wine and beer too, and the space is great – very unusual for FiDi, which is typically classic dives and Irish bars. I hope this place keeps enough business to stay open!

I’ve been here twice so far; once in a group of four and once with the man. The place is small, so be sure to make a reservation if you want a table(the hostesses handling phone reservations are always super sweet). The bar was also quite packed around 6:30 pm both evenings: a Wednesday and a Friday. This is definitely a place to be seen for a drink or two right after work. The décor is dark, cozy and intimate… definitely has that smuggler’s den-type feel to it. The cocktails were what piqued my interest most. They have a decent sized menu with both creative cocktails and standards, and they do serve beer and wine. Here’s what I’ve tried: McQueen — it wasn’t bad, but it did not live up to its description and seemed off balance or perhaps missing a component… it definitely could have benefited from more citrus. Elevated Outcrop — fantastic. it had a large number of interesting components that all came together perfectly. Good Old Boy — this was also excellent and really well balanced. This was a perfect first drink after a long work day. Blackberry Fizz — this was amazing. I’m so glad it wasn’t a sweet cocktail. It was perfect! I was pleasantly surprised by most — but not all — of our bites: Duck Spring Rolls — these were crisp and flavorful and I loved the plated sauces that accompanied them. Gnocchi — cooked just right and served with pieces of juicy chicken. Meatballs and polenta — this dish was such a fail. The polenta was so bland and the«meatballs» were more like naked Swedish meatballs. With the teeny smoky oil tinged toast slices being the highlight of the dish, I have to say that it was definitely not worth its $ 15 price tag. Quesadilla — where the meatball dish failed, the chicken quesadilla succeeded. This tasty dish came with plenty of accompanying sauces, pico, and sour cream. On my latest visit the music — unfortunately — was the 80’s and 90’s cheesy hits of yore. I think they’re severely missing the mark here. it really didn’t fit the clientele. Be prepared to spend some cash thanks to the Manhattan prices. If you can snag one of the awesome Gilt City offers, do so. It’s a great way to try something different and not feel like you spent a fortune. I would come here for a pre– or post-dinner cocktail and a bite if you are feeling peckish.
