This is the place to go if you like Cuba, its culture, and want to know more. Here you can find art galore, books, and other Cuban(related) items. And even better, you can talk with people who know and love Cuba.

An old roommate of mine suggested I accompany her to check this place out, as they were going to be having a sale in the next few weeks. I was completely and totally blown away. Apparently they lost their lease and were in the process of relocating, so they were trying to get rid of some of their stock. I saw some beautiful posters circa 1970’s Cuba as well as fantastic original pieces from the same era. I arrived bright an early for the first day of the sale and left with an original signed Suitberto Goire Castilla from 1976. His name meant nothing to me, but the piece really grabbed me and I had to have it. I’m sure the sale is over but they have a web site where you can sign up for their emailing list. Ever so often I get updates regarding upcoming sales. If you have any desire to build an art collection and you don’t have a million dollars to blow on a Modigliani I highly recommend The Center For Cuban Studies.
